Reaching Bo Loong, I remember the days of eating dim sum about 10 years ago. But this time, it was 7PM Sunday; all the traffic was at a restaurant across the street - people clamored for any parking spots, yet at Bo Loong, it was virtually empty. The only reason I chose Bo Loong was cos I had to pick up a colleague @ Hopkins Arpt at 8:30. So I figured Id try dinner since we were on the expense account. I ordered what I feel are benchmark dishes Chinese-style: Baked salt shrimp and kung pao chicken. We actually ordered baked salt seafood (shrimp, scallops and squid) plus a dish of chinese broccoli, along with ribs. Shrimp seemed overcooked; scallops were smaller than I expected; they seemed like bay scallops and not the large sea scallops. The chinese broccoli was okay but the oyster sauce tasted cheap and overly-salty. Yet the kicker was the kung pao slop. I dug around the goopy mess for the chicken but could only find about 12 chunks of chicken but the rest were a bunch of diced veggies drowning in americanized sauce. I still have 80% of the rest left, which has soaked through the container. Perhaps Bo Loongs dim sum is great but what I had was simply not worth it.

Got takeout of lunch special. Empress chicken and fried rice and eggroll. I also added two Spring rolls filled with shrimp and pork. All three egg rolls for extremely small. The spring rolls had more pork than shrimp, but they were kind of tasty. The Empress chicken was very salty. The fried rice with simply, that fried rice. No being sprouts, no onion, no egg. Nothing but rice with a funky flavor. The food was terrible. I will never returned. Large amount, but disgusting. My friend told me it was nasty about a year ago. But I was in the area and figured I would try it anyway. I should have taken his advice.

Ive come occasionally since it was freshly opened (c. 1988) and really wonderful. Recently came on three different Monday nights in Feb. and March 2015. Occasionally good dishes (salt baked squid, shrimp wonton soup) mixed with mediocre to truly horrible (shrimp wonton second time, kang pao shrimp combo--this last mostly concentrated soy sauce). The water in fish tanks is so dirty its hard even to count the fish. Restroom filthy--floor so sticky you might lose a sandal. Real shame; it used to be a consistently great kitchen. (Same waiter the whole 27 years.)

If you go here, go for the dim sum that is probably the best thing here. Sometimes they do karoake as well, and it is hilarious. The one thing I would advise is take an Asian friend with you as that is how you will get served quickly (I have tried coming here with a couple Asian friends got served right away, with my non Asian friends it took a while). Pretty good for dim sum, anything else on the menu not so much.

Over heard one of the owners talking to an American man on my visit. He was talking about racial immigration, on how a mass number of black people moved to china. The conversation consisted of racial profiling of how black people are lazy and fight all the time. Made me uncomfortable and my partner. Besides that food was great. Might not return

LOVED IT!! I am new to town and a friend mentioned that they were going here for lunch. I asked them what they usually get. They suggested trying the Walnut Shrimp. It was wonderful. The shrimp were good quality no fishy after taste. I will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Went there with a coupon. There is a sign on the door that the restaurant is under new management and they no long take coupons. This place is engaging in BAIT AND SWITCH. They put coupons in coupon books and then when you get there, they dont honor them.

the shrimp, wings, everything i ordered was old, not cooked well, didnt like the food, restrooms dirty as hell, smelly, just a real run down establishment! How do they even stay open??? Never, ever again, not this place, even for free, no way!

I started reading reviews after I purchased a to go order, frankly, the food is delicious. Nearly the best Ive ever had, I think the reviews were from competitors. Food is honestly really good, thats my honest opinion.

Bo Loong now phoning it in. Agree with previous reviewer that 10-15 y ago their food was exceptional. Sadly, attention to detail as suffered, as in egregiously tough dumpling wrappers and veins left in shrimps (ugh).

food was okay, my brother did find glass in his dim sum dumpling though. Enough said if your finding glass in your food, that is a health code violation. Needless to say the service was terrible.

It is the place my Chinese family likes. It is authentic Chinese food with family style servings. The food is good. I would have given it 5 stars, but they dont clean the restrooms very well.

Great for dim sum, but I do not recommend it for dinner. Dim sum is better than almost everywhere else in Cleveland... There are more special dishes on Sundays, though it is more crowded.

The waiter that attended to us was really rude. She makes us feel like we were begging for free food. The egg rolls were soak in oil. The only good thing was the shrimp Dim sum.

Got the Seafood with Fish Maw soup for $10. All I got was a few pieces of dried shrimp, fish maw, and water. No seafood at all. This place is getting worst everyday.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CHINESE I HAVE EVER TASTED. VERY EXPENSIVE and LOADED WITH MSG. DID NOT EAT THEIR DIM SUM and GLAD I DID NOT AFTER EATING THEIR REGULAR FARE.

Best place to get dim sum in Cleveland. The restaurant itself used to be a little grimy, but theyve taken steps to clean it up. Ive never had a bad experience.

Since they changed owners (last yr I think) the food has gotten a lot better! Even though service is a little slow, its definitely worth the wait.
