While it can be tough to get in sometimes (especially weekends) its worth the effort and the wait. The hibachi is good, but the sushi and sashimi is excellent. The presentation is some of the most beautiful Ive ever seen, usually photo-worthy. While presentation doesnt necessarily mean the taste is there, it shows me an additional level of care for the craft and the meal preparation. As for the taste, Ooka has the best salmon Ive ever had. Its got the texture of butter and a mild salmon flavor, which can be too strong for some people. The tuna, mackerel, yellowtail, and all the rest are also fantastic. Ive never gotten a piece of fish that smelled or tasted fishy. The cuts are perfectly bite sized for me, my girlfriend, and her kid. We often get the sushi and sashimi for three. It comes with white miso soup and a the usual salad with ginger dressing. The fish is a wide selection of what Ooka offers. There are a couple of rolls, some cooked fish, and plenty of sushi and sashimi. My girlfriend doesnt like eel, but she loves the eel at Ooka. The kid and I argue over the octopus when they have it. For desert we get an order of tamagoyaki (egg sushi). Its slightly sweet, the egg is cool, the rice is warm. Its perfect to finish this kind of meal. Weve never had a bad meal or sub-par service. Our servers have always been polite and helpful. Weve had service that was a bit slow, and the server frazzled, but thats only been when the place is completely jammed (the bar included) and the wait line is out the door (not the servers fault at all). Lets face it - good food can only be made so fast, and table turns are at the mercy of the people occupying them. I highly recommend Ooka in Doylestown. Make a reservation to make your life easier though.

I love giving snarky reviews, and more often than not, only leave reviews for restaurants that dont live up to their pomp, HOWEVER, this is a very rare exception, so listen up: THIS IS THE BEST FREAKING SUSHI RESTAURANT IVE BEEN TO YET (in Hunterdon/Bucks Co, respectively). So good. So nice. Get their Haru no Hana roll and their James Bond Roll. Slurp up all the sashimi and heck, do a few shots of Uni. You might hate Uni, but you will be so inspired by how awesome of a restaurant this is that youll soon want to bathe in a veritable swimming pool of Uni out of sheer glee that you HAVE FINALLY FOUND your new go-to sushi joint. Pat yourself on the back. Then give all the sushi chefs hi-fives as you leave. You have new friends.

I have been visiting Ooka for lunch take out. I have always been very pleased with the food, as well as the consistency in quality. My only recent complaint is that the last three times i visited, the front desk staff was very slow. Most recently I stood in the lobby in front of the desk for 10 min waiting to pick up my order, which was waiting for me on the counter behind. I work nearby, and dont like spending 10 minutes listening to people argue in the kitchen, when I just want to get my food and enjoy my lunch. If this had been the first time I would not be bothered. The problem is it was not the first time. I have to take a star for poor service.

This is the review for Doylestown location: service is unacceptable! Made reservation for 7 pm on Friday night and arrived at 6:45, was not seated at 7:15. Why would bother reserving table if waiting time is the same as walk in? There were just 2 of grown ups and 1 toddler and they kept telling us, just a minute.... We left because our child was begging for food and there were no tables we could see even close to finishing... Asked for the manager and made sure she knew we are never coming back regardless of their good food.

This place is a must if youre going for a bite in Doylestown. The hospitality is great and hibachi is fun all though they do the same thing every visit. Food can take a tiny while but the appetizers come fast and keep you occupied. But, when we asked for water we felt like the waitress forgot because it took a while. But this place shines in its food. Their sushi is so delicious and the meat is cooked just right. Ill definitely come back for the food! Nice job!

We went there with a group of 12 the night before Thanksgiving and the hibachi chef, Henji or Henry, was amazing! He was the best one weve ever had. He had everyone entertained! Kids, adults, even the grandparents were having a ball. Plus he cooked the food perfectly! We always get great food but sometimes the rare filet mignon is medium, medium rare more medium or well etc. Not this time! Weve been here plenty of times and will be returning many more.

Ooka is by far the best Japanese restaurant in Bucks County. I would maybe even say it is the best restaurant overall due to the consistency of quality food and service. Whenever I go there with my family we always order the Udon noodles, Katsu Don, pan-fried pork gyoza, and a few yummy rolls. Highly recommend the specialty James Bond roll... Off the charts! Ooka never disappoints. The house sake is quite delicious also. Cannot wait to go back :)

This place used to rank higher. Bathrooms were pretty gross. And I got in at 4:30pm, they had just re-opened for the dinner shift....soooo, I would expect a bit of a cleaner area. General wear and tear has not been tended too. If front of house is drifting south...it makes me wonder about the back...where most of the food comes from. Service was fine. Prices are high enough that the general experience should rank one more star.

Awful service !snotty attitude! the cooks need to learn how to cook seafood.Way overcooked! The hibachi chef took a piece of shrimp off some girls plate and cut it up and started throwing it into peoples mouth.( tho no one opened to catch} Never came to serve us drinks. Never we will return to this location. Their portions have been skimpy too!

Its an excellent hibachi/sushi place, easily one of the best Ive been to. However, it is very pricey. It feels fancier, so youre paying for what you get. The food is good as well as the service. I would generally recommend getting reservations, as the wait was 30 minutes (in the dining room, not hibachi) on a Tuesday.

Ooka is a local secret; fantastic Japanese food for honest prices. The service is friendly and fast. My wife and I just love coming here on date nights. Also, the habatchi is wonderful. Of the several chefs I have seen, everyone of them have delivered an unforgettable show.

I love this ooka, you have to try the new york role (smoked salmon and fuji apple)- such a great combo of smoky, sweet, salty, and spicy. Lunch can get very busy, I highly recommend reservations for dinner. They have standard seating and several hibatchi grills.

This was our first time at this Doylestown location. We must say we were so dissapointed. The food and services just sucks!! They are the worst! The best Ooka in PA is the one on Willow grove. Please go there if you want great food and some respect with it.
