BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER!! Want to keep it a secret but Judy is too kind and the food is too tasty. Been going here my whole life & always host family parties in the back room here. The staff are warm and friendly - excellent food & service. Ask for Jerrys Eggplant - its not on the menu, its a dish created by Judys late husband (who was also incredibly kind).

Ive been a customer of Gau Poang since the early 1980s. From its spot on Burlingame Ave, to its location in S San Francisco after the fire, to its current San Mateo location, its been a favorite for the whole family. Great hot & sour soup, black pepper steak, mandarin chicken, dry braised string beans. Judy and her staff never disappoint.

If you are looking for the worst food and bad customer service this is the perfect place to go. My food cost $33.00 and had no taste at all, overall the food was really bad. Owner of this place, very rude person that does not know how to take care of her customers. Please dont eat here, youll see what I am talking about.

This place is nice and clean than most chinese restaurants I have been. The lunch special gives you the choice of either steam rice or fried rice, choice of hot sour soup or won ton soup and you also get a spring roll with sauce. Great Food, Friendly Service, Price Right! Easy Parking (street and back of building).

This is a local gem that serves fabulous food. Their hot and sour soup is absolutely the best I have ever had, and the rest of the menu is excellent. The level of spice can be adjusted to your taste, from mild to wow. I particularly like the fish dishes and the beef dishes. An icy bottle of Tsingtao and you are set.

The service here is incredibly friendly and the food is beyond compare. I especially love the Woh Wonton Soup, Mandarin Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and the Gau Poang Chow Mein. I have been a regular customer for the last 3 years and I dont plan on stopping anytime in the near or distant future.

Fantastic chinese food. Fairly priced and great service. The chicken chow mein is absolutely out of this world, as with all the other items on the menu! Its a great place for any occasion, or amount of people. Highly recommended!

Best food and service south of SFO. Try their Woh Won Ton soup, youll be going back again. The spicy eggplant dish must not be missed. They will know your name by the second time you visit. Great food, great people.

My favorite Chinese! They make great vegetarian hot and sour soup and kung Pao tofu. My husband loves their potstickers. They also have a side room we use for family parties. Everyone is very friendly there.
