My husband and I love this place. I almost refused to write a comment about Shoyou because we wanna keep this place as a great locals option. However, we think they deserve a lot of business. If you see any bad comments about Shoyu in this page its because people do not appreciate a simple and family friendly place. Shoyu doesnt have the glamour that people who come to Park City look for. However, it doesnt mean that it isnt a great place. I have many favorite plates like the hamachi kama, shrimp tempura roll, shrimp tempura appetizer, and the amazing potstickers (gyoza) - the best in Park City! Ignore the haters. I do recommend you to try Shoyu!

We entered restaurant and had to guess where we should sit. No one greeted us or acted like they even noticed we were there. The waitress eventually came to our table. She barely spoke, never smiled, and acted put out by our questions about the sushi. She failed to bring plates and napkins (we had to ask her twice.) And, to top it all off, she brought our appetizers after our entrees (We actually had to remind her and she didnt even apologize.) The worst part was, the sushi was delicious. Its a shame the service was so poor. Being from out of town, we were hoping for a better experience.

While researching great places to eat sushi in park city I found many positive reviews about Shoyu. I found the website and tried to make my reservation online. The online website gave me no place to give a time, but said that someone at Shoyu would be contacting me. Hours later without a phone call from Shoyu I called myself to confirm my reservation. A male answered the phone and informed me that they no longer take reservations and never apologized for the website error. Although the food may be great, it is not worth the poor service that comes with it. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

If you are thinking of going to one of the overpriced places on Main street in PC..dont. This place is less than 10 minutes from all the resorts and it is sooooooooo much better. The rolls are large at a very reasonable price and the service was excellent. I am a bit of a sushi snob, and this place is one of the best places I have been to. It doesnt look like much from the outside, but dont let that fool you... Hole in the wall places always seem to outdo the bigger places in terms of taste and value. Also, the hours listed above are wrong. Go to their site.

Shoyu is a great sushi spot. The menu offers a really nice selection of very clever & delicious rolls, in addition to all the standard sashimi & nigiri options. The sushi chef is actually Japanese (always a plus), and the fish is very fresh and tasty. Its a very unassuming location, with a basic, dimly-lit interior that keeps it simple. Also have some really nice salads and good deals on lunchtime bento boxes. The only bummer is that they dont have a liquor license -- no beer with that tasty Crispy Tuna roll.

Had high expectations but we were all disappointed. The portions were large, but the fish did not taste fresh. The flavor was nothing special. We had a nigiri and four different kinds of rolls. Each was subpar. Service was poor. Prices were near the top of the scale for sushi and yet water was served in plastic cups. Would not recommend.

An incredible find in a very blah strip mall. Do not be deceived by the surroundings. This is a true gourmet experience. Check out the specials as they will contain something youve never tried and will regret missing. Service is good and zero ambiance are to be overlooked when dining on the best sushi and sashimi in Utah.

Absolutely the best Japanese we have had in Utah. Having lived in Japan my wife knows her stuff. This is the stuff. And whats more, their prices are FANTASTIC and they give you A TON OF FOOD. We shared an entrée and two rolls and that was more than enough for us. Absolutely phenomenal Japanese food.

The sushi here was absolutely delicious! We had the crunchy salmon roll, the Pasadena roll and the Vegas roll. Loved the jalapeño in the Vegas roll! The service was ok. Dont be deterred by the hole in the wall atmosphere or the strangish smell when you first walk in. We will definetely come again.

This is a classic hole-in-the-wall restaraunt that I adore. Small quiet and the food is as good as it gets. We had a large group that got together and they took care of us very well. The ingrediants were fresh and the combinations were very tasty. Thanks for making our get together so good!

I have been eating at Hokis restaurant since he opened. There really is no sushi restaurant in Utah like it. The rolls are huge and he doesnt stuff them full of rice. You know you found the right restaurant in a tourist town when its always full....with locals. Keep up the great work Hoki.

Great Sushi and a cozy atmosphere. I love this place! The nigiri is huge and the beer prices are not a complete rip off. The Americanized rolls are delicious. Good value and nice sushi. I saw an older review saying they do not serve beer. They do now!

We had a pretty large group and they were awesome. While the place is small, they were accommodating to use and gave us great service. The rolls were huge, and really great! I loved the tempura too, we will be back for sure!

We were in a really big hurry and they treated us with respect, moved quickly and were genuinely happy to help us get out of there in time. Also, the Las Vegas roll was amazing! The best sushi I have had in Utah!

Food was ok. We waited a really long time before our order was taken. The layout and décor of the place was great. Prices were reasonable too. Tried the shrimp curry. Liked it. Easy to find off the freeway.

Shoyu is our little home away from home. A reliable destination for fresh sushi served in a cozy little hole in the wall. This is everything a neighborhood sushi restaurant should be.

Hoki has one of the best sushi restaurants in the Rockies. This is one of the hidden gems in the SLC area. Try the Friday Roll it rocks.
