Food was great, went one night for a girls night had three not so great margaritas. One of which was so poorly made and gross that I couldnt even finish three sips from. Then one "short" mixed drink. Which was also so disgusting that I couldnt finish. So out of 4 drinks total two were completely undrinkable. Told the waitress, and she just laughed and said "ya sorry!" My check was 53$. Four drinks, For poor wait staff and very Crappy and I guess expensive drinks. Decided to take my husband the next day... No alcohol drink orders this time. And wait staff was completely horrible. The place was not busy at all, and it still took us 45 mins to order. And then 1 hour later and NO drink refills whatsoever or chips and salsa. Our waiter was nowhere to be found. Nd when he walked past would ignore us. My two toddlers were getting very antsy as its been almost two hours and still no food or even refills on anything. By the time our food was brought to us we had to go b.c our toddlers sat there for waaaayy too long. Our order was NOT right at all, and had to be immediately put into to go boxes anyways. Still no drink refills. One drink, well over two hours... And couldnt even eat. I WONT go back unless wait staff or management is changed. The food was alright though, when we finally got home and had to nuke it all in the microwave. I should have went to marcados.... This location is a total Disgrace to the jalapeno tree reputation. Tsssk...tsssskk....

Not everyone loves the Jalapeno Tree. I went in with a group and nothing on the menu looked appetizing, especially with names such as Elvis and James Dean. So I ordered a drink while the others ordered other things and meanwhile, I ate one, maybe two tortillas. When my bill came it was nearly $8. It said "comp setup." I said youre damn right Ive been set up. I expected to pay no more than $2.50 for the drink so by my calculation the two tortillas cost what... $2.50, nearly $3 a piece. Watch their commercials, half the people are acting, you can tell they are reading from a script. If "everyone loves" your restaurant then surely you can find someone who can speak without a script. I havent been back and I dont love it. Really classy, my table spent between $25 and $40 my guess but theyre quick to charge me $6 for two tortillas! That say "complimentary" right on the menu! Another thing while I am here, when I see the commercial where Nolan Ryan says you can get his beef in your food, I have a slight feeling of nausea. I really could do just fine without such a vivid description. Frankly if thats what you serve thats fine but to call it "Nolan Ryan beef" in this day and age is simply gross.

My family and I went to the restaurant tonight for a special night as we had a visitor from Scotland. We were very disappointed with our experience. First we were placed at a table very close to the area where drinks are prepared. We ordered our drinks and the waiter came and dropped the tray over the table. I know that it was an accident but it was a mess. We were then placed at the next table, close to the wall with the pipes etc., The waiter was not friendly, no interaction or personality. We eventually got the chips and dips and had to request napkins . The food was good as usual and we acknowledge that the staff were all very young. One poor waitress had a full tray of food and couldt find who it belonged to. All in all it was not a nice time and the visitor was not really impressed with her first Mexican meal. We have eaten at the restaurant many times and always enjoyed the night, this was very bad. I did try to speak to a lady who appeared to be a manager and she just walked past me. Im sure that the staff will improve but please tell them that their livelihood relies on being pleasant and courteous. Thank you. Elma Cairns

My family came after church to eat lunch on Easter as always and the service was terrible. There was not a lot of families in the resturant and they separated our family at different tables. The service was terrible and one of the servers told my sister that she could "not take her order" because she was taking others first. As a server you should never tell a customer that you will not take there order yet it is unprofessional and extremely rude, you should take it and then figure it out later whine closed doors. Our chips were not cooked all of the way and our separated table didnt even receive menues we had to go grab our own. I do not recommend this place to any families that want to come and have a peaceful lunch or dinner.

Its ok, I can tell wat ppl mean about too much spice, def dont be affraid to flag the waiter down to get better service, there were 7 families, wouldve taken forever, gotta take it from servers side whos gonna tip better party of two or party of 7, in my opinion the price is very high for the quality of food and drinks, but same can be said about lots of restaurants. I am always willing to give a second try (can be that specific cheff thats adding too much spices either way too much spice is never good can imply spices are covering bad quality of product) but itll probably be a long time before I do. It is pricy I will probably try other restaurants in the area before going back.

I was in Tyler from Dallas yesterday during lunch time. I have never been to Jalapeño Tree so i decided to give it a chance. I walked in and there was a party of 3 and a party of about 5 in front of me waiting to be seated. Shortly before it was my turn to be seated. Three people came in and were behind me. When the host came back, he saw over me and decided to seat them instead of me. How could he have missed me, i was standing right in front of him. Was this a racial incident because i look latino? Its a mexican restaurant for petes sake. Who knows! I walked out slowly enough for the host to see me and perhaps try and say something to me. But NOPE! I wont be back! Adios!

Waiter was okay, food wasnt very spicy as some other comments say it is. The sour cream/avocado sauce is decent. Beans were very generic boring and bland. Probably wont come back as there are much better places in tyler to eat for the same price. The rice was okay nothing special. I would expect more from such a large establishment. Really the only thing that was good to my taste preference of texmex, was the avacado sour cream sauce. Though it could use a big bump up in spice. My girlfriend got shrimp enchiladas and it only had shrimp on top of the enchiladas. Most resturaunts I see put it inside and ontop. All around very meh and nothing special.

This restaurant has been advertising on TV for Christmas parties. I tried to book a table for 12 @ 6:15 on a Tuesday and was told that they do not take reservations; just "call ahead seating." It was 10 am on the same day, so I told the manager I was "calling ahead." Then I was told all the rules & that the whole party had to be there on time or they would remove tables from our group. I told her to never mind; I would book elsewhere. I then called Posados Cafe and they graciously booked our birthday party. PS--I was in full-service restaurant management and catering for 20 years, so this is not just a random gripe.
