Lets go ahead and start out with the positives... its got a great location, and the views are great, not to mention that its right across from the inn that we were staying at. Now, as my family and I walked in, we were greated by a pleasently smiling lady at the host podium, and were asked if we would like an inside seat, outside seat, upstairs or down? I replied that it didnt make a difference where we sat, and that we wanted the first available seats. My family of five sat in the waiting area for exactly thirty five minutes, while a group of nine, who apeared to be regulars, were seated almost immediately. As i sat, i noticed that the salad bar downstairs was disgusting, product was left out of temperature for long periods of time, and were definitely not being rotated properly. As we were seated, i noticed that the upstaris food preperation area, that from the dining area apeared to be used for drinks and appitizers, was filthy. Employees were using their bare hands, after cleaning, or handling money, to prepare and "fix", in a sense, food that was directly being served to customers. Upon placing our order, we were informed that the items that three out of five of us had ordered were no longer on the menu, and that there was no way to have them made. I dont remember what my family had, but i had to settle for a burger, great food to get from a seafood place. The quality of food when it was recieved, was way less expected. Nothing i had consumed that night tasted even remotely tasted OK, except my soda. Pricing was ok, but i wouldnt expect to serve this food to prison inmates, let alone the paying public. I give this place a one out of ten, terrible service, bad food, expensive for mass produced microwaved crap, but a great location.

Main concern was nasty dishes (silverware mostly) with food still on them. Not many of the servers were too helpful, except for our waitress, Nicole. Amazing person with a truly healthy head on her shoulders. She served us selflessly and diligently and with a smile, going the extra mile and naturally engaging in conversation. As far as the building itself: charming, cozy, nice view of the coast on the balcony. And the food: nice selection of seafood, other foods present on the menu as well. Though I cant speak for anything other than the seafood, seeing as how that was all I was tried. Salad bar was nice. The potato salad was exceptional. Main complaints: Nasty dishes, unhelpful service. Praise: Both of the above complaints were resolved by our extremely helpful and friendly server, Nicole. Pleasant view of the coast from the balcony. Great food; try the potato salad. P.S.: Although we didnt get a chance to try it, my dad and I were really excited to hear from Nicole that Charlotte Plummer will cook your catch (so long as it comes to them already filleted) and serve it to you with some other promotions included; couldnt remember exactly what the promotions were, as I was already giddy at the thought of being able to eat what I catch, but I think it included a trip to the salad bar, amongst other things. Cant remember how much it was, though. It was not pricey, thats for sure. Update: We got a chance to try the B.Y.O.F (Bring Your Own Fish) and it was spectacular. Of course, we had Nicole serve us again and she ensured that we were satisfied. The 3 pounds of filleted king mackerel we brought fed 3 grown men... and a teenager. Charlotte Plummers cooks know what theyre doing.

Worst experience Ive ever had! Let me start by saying I live and work in Rockport. I actually work at a resort just down the street from CPs and at least 50 times a day someone asks me to recommend a place for dinner. I will never recommend Charlotte Plumbers to anyone! In fact I will probably share my experience with people so they wont have to experience what I did. Its a big deal for my family to go out for dinner, especially a dinner with a $90.00 price tag. My son order a $22.00 piece of fish and did not want salad bar or gumbo, and they refused to substitute a $2.99 cup of soup. So I paid for both. We ordered an appetizer and never got it. I ordered a steak, medium, and it came out practically raw. The service was terrible, the food is bland and under seasoned. All of our meals came with a pile of practically raw veggies swimming in butter, I had to use 2 napkins to soak it up. The salad bar is not special by any means, and the lettuce was wilted and not fresh. The tortilla soup was on the soup bar and it was just not good. We brought this to the attention of the so called manager and she didnt care at all that we were unhappy customers. She didnt even apologize for the terrible experience, let alone try to make it better. Her exact words were "well youre the first people to complain tonight" maybe if we were the second or third she would have tried to rectify the situation. In a town this small a business cannot afford to have unhappy customers who live here. Its really quite unfortunate.

I will start off by saying---I know I am hard to please---so you may like this, but I would NOT go back. Wait staff is a mix: some are very nice, some are so-so, aome are awful. Ours was so-so. She was efficient, but not friendly, and seemed very impatient when we asked questions. Not slow, got what we asked for, but NO WARMTH. The food was really very average. Salad bar is scary. Found a hair in my green peas, the cukes were really old and borderline rotten. Lettuce not too fresh. Dressings were yuck. Now the good news: they had a fabulous tortilla soup. Another person in our group ordered gumbo, and it was excellent. But we ordered the seafood platter, and it was just really disappointing. Shrimp were smallish, oysters bland and no flavor. The fresh fish portion (amberjack) was rather tasty but very small serving. We had to ask for hushpuppies though they were supposed to be served with the dinners. No bread, no rolls, baked potatoes were very dry. Served with pre-packed sour cream and ditto on the butter/ margarine. Are we getting the picture??? Not awful, just very, very average at BEST. Pass on them. Id go to Docs in Corpus Christi for way better seafood. Sorry, Charlotte Plummer! We will not return.

We were very disappointed with this restaurant. The service was awful from beginning to end, and the food was mediocre. When our name was called, the lady wouldnt even wait for all of our party to get up from our seats to follow her, even though we asked her to. She just walked off. We waited an hour for our food, which was lackluster and bland. The broccoli was undercooked, the fish was not great. My mother in law ordered a sandwich which our waiter described as "like chicken salad but with shrimp"...it was nothing like that. It was sliced shrimp with no form of dressing or mayonnaise, etc. He offered to bring her another one but ended up just bringing out the exact same thing. When he brought it out, he didnt even stay to see if it was okay- just dumped it on the table and walked off. Our drinks were empty most of our meal and it was hard to find wait staff. Then on the way out, we noticed that they even charge for mints! What restaurant charges for mints?! Overall, our experience was less than satisfactory and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
