I have always ate here every morning but since my lady retired the new help sucks. I came early one day B4 they were open sat and waited til 7 having a conversation with my friend in front, meanwhile this new help is being all so nosey looking thru the window saw my friend sneeze and and his nose had a lil blood come out nothing serious. But she assumed the worse. A customer walked up while we were outside thought they were closed and i said no theyre open she hasnt turned the signs around, and he goes in after almost turning around. Now we go in and she refused service to us because she said were throwing up I front of HER BUSINESS #1not true#2assume ass of u not me, im truly disappointed and cant believe she would not serve us after helping save a customer this is what we get for doing the right thing. Do not forget who supports ur businesses, we work, live, and dine in the area. My co-workers are stunned and support me and have denied spending their money with them. Racism is still alive.

I go here often because its the nearest cafe near my home. Its very good food, and although the menu is limited, they have something for just about everyone. It has a 50s feel. Its run by a very sweet Korean couple, Sung and her husband. Sung will greet you, pound your fist, keep your coffee cup full (even when you dont think you want more), occasionally offer a back rub, and make sure you feel right at home. Its a little grimey, but it wouldnt belong in Oakland if it wasnt. All n all, I highly recommend it if you are in the neighborhood.

Kind of a dive, which would be fine if the service and food werent horrible. Our order was messed up, and the wrong dish was brought out. After waiting for the right one, the fries were cold. Not cold like room temperature, but cold like some were hot and some were frozen. Then there was a random mystery thing hidden under the fries that turned out to be a jalapeno popper. Were still looking for a decent diner in the area. This certainly isnt it.

We miss Sung, one of the helpers/waitresss is usually distracted by her cell phone or her boyfriend...really? And we seem to always receive her poor service...my eggs we overcooked, and the toast too greasy (what a surprise, please get it right)...I will be specific and make sure the little nasties dont get in the way Next Time! We love this place!!

Found this sweet spot after a local referred us. Love the U-shaped counter & straight forward breakfast menu that includes grits and banana pancakes; the sriracha sauce at each counter stop. The OJ is Odwalla, the coffee strong, smooth & hot. Regulars get served fastest and first, so if youre a newbie, be prepared for a wait.

Im a chef, my husband is a chef and sometimes you just wanna go somewhere you can count on. This is definitely one of our favorite breakfast joints in Oakland. Their menu is simple and good. They have great service and they know how to make the perfect eggs over medium.

Been eating here for 6 years know the food hasnt change but the service did very poor service i got my side first then had to wait 10 mins to get the rest of my food and then the waiter took another 5 mins to get my wife a straw

Food quality has gone down since the business changed hands a couple years ago. Quality went down, prices went up. Pretty standard diner service. Dont expect too much besides a now extremely "hipster" clientele.

Cheap eats, friendly peoples, great kimchi. Lets be real, it doesnt beat brown sugar, but a meal for two costs the amount of the tax at brown sugar and its a nice hang over fix.
