Im not even sure where to begin. I ate here on a Sunday evening with a friend because we wanted seafood and Nates was one of the few places open. The reviews were good and the menu looked appetizing, so we decided to take a chance and make the 40 minute drive to Addison. Lets start with the pros: nice atmosphere, live music, free valet parking. Thats pretty much it for the good stuff. Food: The Mother Tucker Oysters were the only decent thing flavor-wise, but they were pretty small. A dash of lemon, horseradish, and cocktail sauce made them much better. The shells shouldve been cleaned more thoroughly. I managed to get small bits of shell on some of my oysters, but most of them were fine. The crab cakes had way too much filler and looked more like fried fish patties or something. When I have a crab cake, I expect more crab and less filler. Too many binding agents give a crab cake a floury cheap taste. The side of Louisiana rice dressing that came with the oysters was awful. Absolutely no flavor. It was basically blended beans mixed in with rice. Bland and forgettable. My main dish was the Seabass Atchafalaya. Unfortunately it also came with the bland Louisiana rice dressing. The dish was a waste of $34.99. Absolutely little/no seasoning whatsoever. My friend ordered the boiled snow crab with Desis Bon Temps sauce (which she never got) with some corn and potatoes. Shockingly bland as well. Zero seasoning on the corn and potatoes. Anyone catching the theme? The food is not properly seasoned! Service: Maybe our server had an off day, because the service was lackluster. I dont expect rainbows, unicorns and smiles so wide teeth fall out, but I do expect a certain level of enthusiasm. He forgot my friends sauce and her drink. She did eventually get her drink but was so over the experience she nixed the Desi sauce. My friend spoke with the manager after our poor experience and I commend him on how he handled the situation. If I ever give this place a chance again its only because he actually cared about our experience and tried to make it right. Summary: Decent atmosphere, but bland food. Im shocked by the many 4.0+ star ratings (are yall crazy?). Go somewhere else.

I went Nate for lunch with my two friends. We ordered lunch menu that comes with salad or soup for free as hostess said. Then we have waited for the meals for 25 min. It was bit slow, but acceptable for Fridays lunch. We got the meal, and it was ok. Then we finished adn wait for the check. We couldnt get our server right away, since she didnt even stop by our table after the meal was delivered. We were waiting and trying to catch her to get the check for about 20 min. Then one of my friends jumoed up and ran to the server who still kept missing us and knocked on her shoulder to get attention. He asked her for the check. Then we had to wait for 20 min. more tobget the check. We had to waiy for more than 40 min to get the check! Here comes the big one. When we saw our check, salad was charged seperately, which is totally different from what server told when we ordered. Then we asked her about salad, and she said salad was extra. We told her that was not what she said. Then she replied she didnt remember! Our credit cards were charged already. So we came to the manager and told him the entire story. Manager seemed reasonable and offered us the refund of lunch. That was about a month and half ago. Until now, i didnt see any refund from Nate. Even the manager lied to us. This resraurant is a joke. Workers in there including manager are lairs, dont care their customers, and dont want to serve. Please avoid this place at all!

Being an out of towner - I have found a huge fault in this place... they still allow smoking in the bar. Its been nearly a decade since Ive been inside a building (outside of cigar lounges and casinos) that allow smoking while dining. It kills the aroma of the food and the flavor as well. Came here for some mudbugs and a beer. The staff is friendly - food comes out rather quick. I know its not crawdaddy season so they were pretty small, although they were pretty sweet tasting - I still like them drenched in a cajun seasoning with butter and oils dripping all over the place. I dont eat this stuff for my health! So its just not my style that I prefer. I also had the stuffed jalapenos which were different but very good and filling. The boiled shrimp was so-so. Pretty plain jane and not too flavorful. Oysters on the half shell were good - but nothing special as long as their fresh they all taste the same anywhere else you go. I did love the bread and hushpuppies sitting in a pan of melted butter though haha. That was delicious! Ill have to come back when the crawfish are in season to see if I like them anymore - otherwise Ill continue going to places that drench them in oil and butter cuz thats how I like it!

First and foremost, like Nate, I was born and raised in Louisiana. I can burn in the kitchen, so with the powers invested in me I garentee Nates menu is certified by both sun kissed and Caucasian cajuins《best crawfish Ive tried in Dallas but I didnt say the cheapest》. I dont know Nate and I dont care if I ever meet him, but If I am blessed to be in his presence Id tell him the truth. The food is A-, the prices are reasonable considering the law of supply vs. demand, the wait staff lowers the over all rating of the established, but the bartenders Sage and E.J are why Ill continue to provided positive word of mouth when people ask for recommendations. This is why youll always notice the bar is packed with loyal fans of this B- cajuin surf and turf restaurant. If I cant eat at the bar, get fast drink service, great interactions from both domestic and neighboring state customers than Ill stalk a bar seat or return at a later time. I love Nates and you will too if you can read between the lines. I dont always tip 20%, but when Im at Nates I tip responsibility. Take my word for what its worth. I took my time to write a honest review and I tried to write without much bias. 《Mack》my name is my name!

The worst restaurant ever! We all expect some sort of standard when we go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. Where do I start? Having entered the restaurant, we had to wait for several minutes to be greeted and seated, when finally a waitress took us to our table, which was a very small square thing, with not much space for anything, The menu cards were very disgusting, covered in oil and all sorts of dirt with the foil peeling away from the paper. When we ordered our food, it took 30 minute!! to appear. The food was cold and there was no taste to it at all, and there was no salt or pepper on the table, so you had to try your hardest to attract someones attention to get a bit of salt, which took a while. Honestly, the best bit of food we had there, was the two candies which came with our bill ! Then we decided to get drink from the bar. The bartenders were the worst bartenders you could find! They were so bad mounted, rude and disrespectful. Never get drink from there. I will never go there again!! It was terrible !!! Dont be fooled, this place has nothing to do with seafood, and the service was very poor.
