This was my first time to ever dine at a Pappadeauxs. I have heard great things about them before so we thought it would be awesome to treat my stepson and his wife to a meal for his Birthday here. The food was ok but certainly not in line with the high prices theyre charging . The calamari we ordered for an appetizer was a little rubbery. The Halibut with spaghetti squash was good but definitely not worth the price. The best thing that we tried was the cheese grits with sausage. The 1 star rating was because of the waitress. I thought for a while she had truly forgotten about us. Almost an hour later we received our food and then she disappeared again. When we were ready to go we wanted some to go boxes to take the left overs home but she offered to box them up for us. Another 15-20 minutes go by and finally the manager shows up saying the food got accidentally dropped on to the floor. Wow, if I never go to another Pappadeauxs again I will be just fine. This place was poorly managed and the waitress doesnt need to be waiting tables. If you have plenty of time to wait and enjoy paying exuberant prices for food then youll be just fine dining here but if not then I suggest to keep on driving.

Pappadeaux has long been my go-to for casual business meetings, or a place for my wife any I to go out and enjoy a great steak. My last experience at this Dallas location matched my experience in other locations - it was excellent! A business colleague and I were looking for somewhere to go after a busy day attending a trade show at the Hotel Anatole. We arrived without a reservation yet were promptly seated. The staff was more than courteous, and the waiter allowed us an opportunity to talk while we looked over the menus without the experience seeming rushed in any way. The restaurant was very busy until around 8:30PM, but mellowed out a bit later on into the evening. Even at its busiest the place felt energetic but volumes didnt rise enough to impede casual conversation. The food was perfectly cooked. I had a thick cut of salmon with shrimp, crayfish and dirty rice - everything tasted excellent and it is a meal I would definitely order again. I highly recommend this location, and the chain as a whole!

Whenever theres a Pappadeauxs in town, Im going to find it and have myself an awesome meal. However, this is the first and only Pappadeauxs in 12 years where I was disappointed. The waiter was courteous but couldnt answer my questions or seemed to be making up answers instead of saying...let me find out. Perhaps, he was new. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon Yvette and it was horrible. It was doused in a overpowering Monterey Jack cheese sauce. I like Monterey Jack but this was nasty. The red beans and rice were bland. The beans were hard as if they didnt soak or cook them long enough. The 3 shrimp on top were the best thing about the meal. I tasted my friends crawfish and nearly spit it out. I bleed black & gold so I know how true crawfish is suppose to taste. Well, let me say this...the crawfish wasnt horrible, it was different and not what I am used to. It wasnt cooked NOLA style. It definitely wasnt boiled probably stemmed. Maybe this was TX style crawfish. My friend really enjoyed them tough

I have a really mixed opinion about this place. I ordered a dozen gulf Coast raw oysters & they were some of the best I have ever had. Then I ordered 2 1/2 pounds of boiled crawfish & was deeply disappointed. The size was & flavor were decent but the crawfish looked blood red, almost black & were harder then normal, also they had absolutely no juice in the heads, a sign they were way over cooked/cooked by someone with no experience. The corn & potatos that came with it were pretty good. My wife ordered the 10 oz. Filet mignon which was perfectly cooked the way she ordered. While the cut of meat was superb it lacked seasoning. The server while friendly & outgoing had a hard time servicing our table properly. My water glass sat empty for long periods of time. They forgot to bring my wifes food & it was several minutes before it was noticed. Honestly when spending that kind of money to go out to eat I would expect better service & the food to be perfect.

Only come here once every couple years cause there are so many restaurants in dfw, but its always great. Seems that "Joe" below me likes to give a poor rating to a place because of certain clientele around him, which is mostly out of the establishments control. Why dont you at least give an actual review of the food and service, at least then you would be somewhat useful. Being a server in a small town myself, I would love to kick half of my ignorant, hick-a$$ guests out, but then they would spread word of what happened and we would lose business. Not doing that in this economy. The place is loud cause its an awesome place to eat and packed. If it sucked a$$ then it would be quiet, but then you might complain about the food too. But please continue putting blame on others when things happen that they cant help. Bravo. If a neighboring table is bothering you, then you do something about it if youre any sort of a man. I hate stupid f**ks like you.

Pappadeaux offers excellent seafood with a Cajun twist. I have never been disappointed with a meal at Pappadeaux. This particular location was excellent. I usually frequent the locations in Chicago and Atlanta where there are extremely long wait times to be seated. Often those times can exceed an hour or two. I went to this location 5 times in two weeks and the longest time I waited for a table was five minutes. Our first visit here we were served by DJ. He was pleasant and fully of energy. We enjoyed his service and asked for him the remaining 4 times we came over the two weeks we were in the area. The food we ordered was properly prepared and even the presentation was excellent. I love the crab cakes here. Make sure you try them. Make plans to visit this particular Pappadeaux. You will not be disappointed.

I visit this establishment every time I travel to Dallas, at least once a month. It was in the past, a VERY GOOD place to eat. The last couple of visits, I have noticed that the food has remained about the same, other than being a little cooler than normal, when arriving at the table and taking a lot longer to arrive. The service has gone down hill. On my last visit, 7/29/10, I was left waiting while others were being seated. I guess they were looking for the worst table in the place for a party of one. I left without being seated, I counted six tables (four tops) open. The wait staff lost on this deal, I left and took my generous TIP with me. I went down the road to a very good steak house and spend my expense money, GENEROUS TIP and all in a place that seated me fast and the staff cared.

Wish I could give this manager here a negative 1. Party of 20 walks into an almost empty pappadeaux, the rush is over. The manager says she cant accommodate us with her sloppy looking self. Too lazy to put tables together and make it work. If it were busy id totally understand. Considering that there were a total of 25 guest in the entire place there was absolutely no reason why we were not assisted in a timely, the excuse was " were waiting on the next shift" one of the workers did walk out Table was ready and we get no apologies just," its ready now" I should have Walked out but it was my sisters birthday. No menus, handed out. The server was polite, the manager is a piss poor representation of the Pappas Brand.I was told Pappadeauxs has the best training for employees...."THEY LIE!"
