I was surprised how much I didnt like it given the other reviews which swore by the authenticity of the restaurant. We dined in. The atmosphere is very minimal in a strip mall well past its prime. But that is ok because I am there to eat, not oogle over wall paper or fancy finishes. But this restaurant was dirty. The doors looked as if they hadnt been wiped down in years with hand dirt and grease smudges all over them. The wall at our booth had flecks and spots from past patrons dining at that table. The booths were ripped and worn. The table cloth was actually a very thin [trash bag thickness] piece of white plastic. [See photos] They had several layers of the plastic on the table so they can just pull one layer and the table will be ready for the next people. It wasnt busy the night we were there, Sat 3/12, at all. There were maybe four other tables occupied. The staff were not very fluent in English which made ordering a bit difficult. There was a feeling of confusion/chaos among the two or three staff we saw roaming around the dining room. We ordered a very large spread to try various things including many of our favorites so we could gauge the quality. We had tofu appetizer, dumplings, wonton soup, crab wontons, chicken lo mein, beef with broccoli. None of it was worth mentioning. Sauces were so-so, not very good quality meats, over cooked noodles and veggies, greasy. It was all more along the lines of Chinese fast food. It sat like a bowling ball in our stomachs leaving a yucky feeling. We wont return.

The restaurant environment is dark, private, and kind of bland. "So why the 5-star review?" you might be asking yourself. The food is amazing. The price is unbelievably low. And the staff is good. The food and the price are what make this place stand out from the crowd. Their tea-smoked duck is amazing. Every person in my family who has tried it has loved it, and same is true for every friend who Ive invited here. The down-side to it is that its a small amount of meat, but the flavor is so worth it. The real value comes in their other dishes: their smoked pig belly with garlic leek is epic! Smoked pig belly is known here as bacon. Thats right: a plate of smoked bacon, stir-fried and served with fried rice with egg, with chinese seasoning (and sauce is optional). H*ll yes! Their portions of fried rice are huge. In many other restaurants, theyll either serve you under-seasoned fried rice, or theyll add a bunch of ingredients (peas, carrots, green onions, etc) to make it have flavor and color. Not here. They add only seasoning and egg to their rice, but dont let that simplicity fool you. Their fried rice is no joke. It tastes amazingly good, and itll fill you up easy. Try to get a seat during the lunch special, when its cheapest. Its so worth it. This place is my go-to place for cheap, tasty food. Cant go wrong.

I ordered the sichuan chicken on their lunch menu. the service was quick but the food was extremely oily. Also.. the portion was so small it was like they were rationing! Didnt taste spectacular, so I disagree with the other reviews about this place. I ordered their steamed pork dumplings. WORST dumplings I have ever had in my life. Hardly any pork (they were definitely rationing!!), whatever was there wasnt seasoned well. The wrapping of the dumpling had too much dough and wasnt thin and delicate the way it should be. if you dont believe me try out the same Pork dumplings at Sichuan Folk and then decide for yourself. The restaurant looks more like a joint, poorly decorated, horrible ambiance. Overall the place didnt meet the expectations I had after reading some of the other reviews. Quite honestly Ive had much better so it was difficult to appreciate what they served up. I repent going there! Im just glad I didnt get food poisoning! Never going back. Never!

An all around awful experience. I placed an order to go, the girl who took my order didnt know what carrots were. I told her I didnt want any in my dish. She had no idea what I was talking about. I had to Google images for her to see. I waited 10 minutes for my food, she handed it to me with 1 hand with the bag open, so if you can imagine, the sauce was all over the place. I placed the bag on a table and NO UTENSILS, NO NAPKINS... evidently I was supposed to use my hands to eat??? I asked for a fork and she handed me 1 fork and nothing else. What kind of service was this??? On top of the horrible service, my dish was TERRIBLE!!! I shouldve captured a picture of it. I ordered chicken and vegetables, it looked more like chicken and broccoli because thats the only vegetable in the box. I have a headache now, pretty sure they used a ton of msg. BOTTOM LINE, do NOT go there.

Great, inexpensive restaurant specializing in Sichuanese cuisine. So far, favorites include Eggplant with Garlic Sauce and Kung Pao chicken (the real thing, not the stuff full of green bell peppers you get at most American-ized Chinese restaurants). The Hot and Sour Soup is also great, and offered free with lunch (Im getting it for take-out the next time I have a cold!). The place is very low-key, bereft of fancy decor, reasonably priced, and full of actual Asian customers. Also, be prepared for the food to be spicy, as this is a hallmark of this provinces cooking style. Definitely a regular stop from now on...

Rude staff and everyone got food poisoning after eating there. We placed an order for a dish and when we arrived, they handed us a box of something we didnt order. A team member insisted that we would like this dish and to take it anyway. Obviously, they entered the order wrong but after insisting that we did not want to eat that - they reluctantly corrected the order. We went home with the correct dish- and everyone (both me and my wife) got so sick. I can only imagine what happened in the kitchen - will never return to this restaurant.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in town. To be perfectly honest, its one of my favorite restaurants, period. We always go for zhong dumplings, hot and spicy cumin lamb, and sichuan chicken. Pretty much anyone who visits us gets brought to this place. The decor is minimal, and leaves something to be desired, but it really doesnt matter when the food arrives. Service is top notch, and prices are more than fair given how obscenely large the portions can get. Truly cant recommend this place enough.

Ambience was ok. Food was confirmed food. Nothing great or bad. Just something you can happily munch away. Service was ok. It was very frustrating when you have to sit through a waiter who was not even interested to even make eye contact or share her thoughts about the food. It was more like boring routine stuff for her. Towards the end she however came and asked if everything was ok. Hygiene wasnt great. I saw the staff using brim sticks and handle plates right after that. Never again.

The food is really good and worth every penny. the menu is really big but It was a real pleasure to eat here..The staff is not so friendly and tend to ignore you sometimes but hey its still way better than most rude chinese takeaway places who are so hard to understand. this place is truly SICHUANESE.. also its BYOB I would recommend this place..also recommend finding out what "out of" menu items they write on the wall..tried some shrimp..LOVED IT
