I live two blocks from Se-Port and have been going here all my life. Ive had every sandwich on the menu at least once. Se-Port is somewhat of a local phenomenon. Even when my dad went to high school back in the 70s it was the place to go grab a bite and hang out. Now 40 years later it is still the go-to spot for Stony Brook University students and locals alike. The extensive menu of sandwiches follows a common recipe....chicken cutlet, delicious sauce, melted cheese, bacon. Id say that 75% of their sandwiches have those ingredients, but it works! People often complain about the price which comes to nearly $11 including tax but if youve ever had one of their sandwiches you know that they are brolic af! You basically get two lunches because one half is fills you up--and this is coming from a 210-pound guy--so I think that the price is reasonable for what you get. There are only two complaints that I have with them. One is the service. The staff dont act professionally which adds to the vibe of the place but it goes too far. You can be absolutely certain that if you go there with a hot girl they will hit on her. If you ask to tweak a sandwich you will often get annoyed grunts. The second complaint is that they are cash-only. All in all, it is a good place to eat and it is fun to participate in the hype surrounding the place despite their obvious shortcomings. So if youre you in the area I think it is definitely worth a try!

If youre looking for fat sandwiches, SE-Port Deli is one of the few places you can get it near Stony Brook. As a poor college student, you can choose to learn to cook, or buy cheap fatty foods. I like the latter. Fat sandwiches are exactly what you think, sandwiches that are very fattening in calories. SE-Port has a whole menu list of sandwiches and incredibly great tasting salads, but seriously, if its your first time, get a fat sandwich, preferably the "gasm". My go to sandwich is the Gasm, I really do enjoy the Wolfie, but some of the lesser known sandwiches are just as good, try the Ruben. Honestly, almost you cant go wrong ordering anything on the sandwich menu, unless youre vegetarian. If so, stick to the salad. The environment in the shop is nice, clean and very well organized. They have plenty of tables and chairs in case you want to enjoy your sandwich as soon as its made. My only downside for this review are hours. Im from NYC, so I generally enjoy having shops that are open 24 hours, but SE-Port closes shop at 8PM, way before people begin to get midnight munchies. Its completely understandable because its Long Island and not NYC. As a college student from Stony Brook Univeristy, do come to SE-Port Deli, at least once before you graduate.

I have never been disappointed in my trip to Se-port deli. I order the gasm (bacon on the side to give to friends) almost every single time I go to se-port. I always end up splitting with a friend or saving the other half of my sandwich for an entire other meal. The sandwiches to say the least are huge! I am always full just eating half. The pricing of the sandwiches is alright, I am pretty sure they recently raised them. You get what youre paying for though. The gasm itself is spectacular. I love the chicken cutlets in the sandwich and the flavors are a great combination. Whenever I mention that I go to Stony Brook University, people always ask if I have tried out Se-port. This restaurant is well known in the community and is definitely a must try if youre in the area!

Always craving this stuff, man! it is the best thing that has ever happened to stony brook students. If you have a car and get off campus (assuming youre a student at Stony) this should be your first stop!!!! Their sandwiches are always so fresh and so BIG that you really get a bang for your buck. The staff are always friendly and will always be patient when you are deciding which sandwich you want to sink your teeth in. Even the vegetarian delight sandwich was good ..and I LOVE MEAT. Have to come here, no joke! It had the eggplant, provolone cheese, roasted red peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, with balsamic vinegar on a hero :D. NOT SO BAD FOR A NO MEAT, "healthier" option :D.

This place is a staple of Setauket and the surrounding towns, and a must have when in the area. Demand for the sandwiches have gone up, shop has gotten bigger to accommodate, and prices have gone up quite a bit. The quality seems as consistent as the day i first ordered a Boone 10 years ago, so most people wont mind paying the extra money (especially since the sandwiches will fill you!). Dont forget to get a home-brewed iced tea while here to get the full Se-port experience. It is cash only, and there is an ATM if needed. If you go during a popular time expect to wait, though they usually have your food ready fairly fast.

Their sandwiches are large, and for the sheer amount of calories you get for your money, Id say its worthwhile to check out. The gasm is as good as everyone says, though I tend to go for variety, which means Ive determined that most other sandwiches, such as the meemo, are good but not as good. I think the bread is probably the best part of the sandwich, as blasphemous as that might be. The ingredients are great, just super salty and heavy. No bright, freshness to be had here.

If you come here and order anything but a Gasm, youre wrong. I dont like thousand island dressing or coleslaw, but in that sandwich theyre perfect. Split one with a friend along with a medium iced tea and youll have almost enough room for a side of fries. Most other sandwiches you can get the same at any other deli. Prices are a little higher than most delis but the huge portions reflect it. Cash only is only a slight nuisance.

Great sandwiches. Lots of house created options or create your own. If its your first time be ready for LOTS of reading...The menu is huge. In the end you wont end up with a bad meal. Service is okay. Its good good, in a popular location and out on the island. What do you expect? Lots of seating inside and out.

Youll most probably get lost in their never-ending options for sandwiches! From whatever Ive had, any sandwich with their chicken cutlets and mozzarella taste YUM. Great serving size - youll end up taking away half your sandwich home Add in their pink lemonade I wish they would add fries on the side though

Utterly fantastic sandwiches, expensive but worth it. Order at the counter and then sit down in the surprisingly ample dining area. Very nice, clean place, staple of the area. But go into it knowing your dropping 11 dollars or more for a sandwich. Still worth it. Wish it was open later.

As an Englishman that, at the time was in New York, Se-port was amazing. Introduced to me by my sister one day I ordered... something... and it was delicious! I insisted we went back. A word of warning though, dont try and eat everything at once - food will definitely win!
