Ill keep it simple. The beef bulgogi was like searching for scraps, very few pieces of meat that you could actually grab with a chopstick. The squid bokkeum only had 5 pieces of squid and the rest of it was cabbage. Nice illusion but we werent fooled. I asked for an egg for my kimchi soup and it was like pulling teeth. Three different people had to ask the chef and the first time he said no! Our waiter was interesting. He didnt speak a lick of English and we werent able to communicate with him at all. Their response to rectify the poor service and pitiful portions? 1. The server tried to say they ran out of squid. The manager came out to say that was the correct portion and didnt offer to comp it. Either way, worst response ever. 2. They gave us a plate of corn??? We were already done eating and corn wasnt what we came for. 3. They tried to give us complimentary gyozas even though we were clearly done with our food. We had already had an order of gyozas as an appetizer, so that was odd. At this point I was convinced they needed me to spell out how handle the situation in a professional manner. I had to ask them point blank to remove the charge for the squid. It was ridiculous. The chef came out several times to give my wife the evil eye. It was BEYOND stupid. The whole experience was definitely a huge disappointment. So be warned, they will try to "charm" you into believing this is a legitimate customer focused establishment. Wear your anti-charming goggles and you be able to see through their BS. Really, charm isnt the only commodity they are running short on. As described above, the squid and beef are also in short supply.

Me and my husbands experience started out bad but in the end we were full and happy! :) We went on a Saturday night so we already expected to be on the wait but the bad thing was the host infront made a mistake and forgot about us, we see all these new comers going in and we were there way ahead of a lot of them and we end up being the last to be called, she asked whats our name and showed her lists and all the names after us were lined(scratched) so obviously she made a mistake by not calling us first, we waited longer and we were there first, we didnt complain at all cause I wanted it to be a good date night for me and my hubby. The waiter we had was a middle aged Korean, I asked how does it works since its our first time since their menu didnt really have instructions how the unlimited works, our waiter tried to explain but we really cant understand exactly what she was saying, so we just tried to order our best. The ambiance was alright, not amazing but its clean so thats whats important. Comparing to Chosun Galbi, I like Chosun Galbis place more. When our food(unlimited meat) came, we were just so hungry and enjoyed it! The appetizers were tasty! Beef bulgogi was good, it was the best put of all the meat choices we had. It isnt outstanding but its unlimited and also decent. So its a decent price for quality and quantity. Ill recommend if you want to eat a lot. Also they change their grilling pans after every finish of meat. Im glad I tried this place but still want to try more Korean restaurants out there though!

As far as Korean BBQ restaurants go this is one of my favorites. Whats even more amazing is they offer an all you can eat option. This was my 2nd visit to Charm Korean BBQ, Ive been tempted to make the 90 minute commute each way just to eat at this place once or twice. They offer 3 options on the all you can eat, each one adding additional upgraded meat options for about $10 more. In addition to the meat selection the buffet comes with all the side dishes you could want, which are amazing. The pickled garlic, the korean corn, & radish are all favorites. They offer 3 types of sauce and oil for your meats, the salt and pepper sesame oil is my favorite. Some restaurants have a limit on the number of times you can order, forcing you to over-order or under-order, not the case here, with 2 or more people you are free to order again and again. We ordered at least 4 times this last visit. The basic AYCE includes bulgogi, pork belly, denjang jjigae, garlic beef, pork shoulder, beef belly, buckwheat noodles, marinated beef, marinated chicken.. and more.. One of my favorites is the pork belly, I have to get at least one or more orders of this each visit. The all you can eat is brought to the table where you cook it yourself, but staff frequently comes by adding to the grill, turning the meat and refilling your sides, allowing you a little more time to eat without having to worry about whats cooking on the grill. I would recommend this place to any Korean BBQ fanatic.. Its absolutely amazing.

We came here on a weekday night for dinner buffet. We are the only table the whole time we were there. The restaurant is clean and nice. There is a vent above every table. If you are ordering the buffet, the whole table have to be the same tier. Deluxe, premium and charm special. My husband wanted the premium package but I only wanted the deluxe. They told us we cant mix it up which is a bummer. The ban chan (the little dishes) that comes with our meal are very uninteresting and unappealing. The kimchi is the worst I ever had. I had better luck with store bought ones. The meat is mediocre, almost bland. They werent marinated long enough or they are being really cheap on the marinade, or both. Something is missing from all the meat we ordered from the menu. None of it hits the spot. Service is non existent even though we are the only table the whole time there. We had to ask for our water to be filled up. We had to cook the meat ourselves. All of this cost us $60, not including tip. I would definitely not come back again nor would I recommend anyone to unless changes are made.

From the moment you walk into the door, the staff are friendly and inviting. At the barneque takes, you cook your own may, but are allowed as much of it and the sides as you can eat. If you are unsure how to cook an item, the staff shows you how. The unlimited barbeque option starts at about $25. The non-barbeque menu has a large array of options from meats to noodles to soups and everything in between. The menu items are less expensive per person and allows you to try more items or get more intricate items in the soups than you get free with the barbeque. For example, the kimchi chiguey in the barbeque has a few pieces of meat, but from the menu there may be seafood included. The mulnyeingmun on the barbeque trends to not have the meat and pear included with the a la cart item. There is also a good selection of soju and other alcohol products, but I havent bought them there, so I cant speak to the prices.

I believe this is the only all you can eat Korean barbecue in the Austin area. While I have definitely had better, I am happy Charm is here. The corn side dish is pretty good and ordering the soups or cold noodles gives a bit of variety. Prices are a bit expensive for the barbecue, especially since the second tier is required for galbi and some other meats that are standard for other AYCE Korean barbecues. The first tier is decent, but you will soon find which of those meats to keep ordering over the others. The service can be slow, but they are friendly. I go more for friends/family, so while everything is not the best, Im pretty satisfied. I am hoping for more competition once Hmart opens, though. Will definitely come again.
