Saffron Indian Restaurant is one of those finds that literally makes you wanna slap yourself and everyone else who has never eaten there before. I mean it is such a wonderful experience, everyone should try it at least once. The chef is a celebrity cruise ship chef who is trained in all cuisine of the world but has docked in Houston to perfect his skills in Southern Asian cuisine. That just so happens to be halal. Their lunch Thaali is an absolute feast for the eyes and taste buds. You hey this huge tray with a variety of items to try along with some biryani. My favorite is the chicken Thaali where you get to try chicken biryani, curry chicken, a fried curried chicken app , a vegetarian option and a delicious clay oven tandoori Naan. Another favorite on the menu is thier chicken Manchurian which is an indo-chinese dish, very popular over rice in Pakistan and India. Its chunks of boneless chicken in a sweet and spicy tomato based sauce with Bell peppers and onions. Thier samosa chaat is a contender if you like sweet and savory flavors. The tamarind sauce delivers the heat AND the sweet. And the yogurt is perfect to cool it all down. Its hard to find a restaurant where the chef puts that much care and effort into the food and is always there to hear your compliments or criticism. They also have a very popular party room where they can create a menu to your liking, from Italian to continental to steaks to Indian. Guess where Im having my next birthday dinner? You guessed it. Kenny & Ziggys. Totally kidding. Its gonna be at Saffron Indian Restaurant.

Well Im giving 1 star as the review would not allow me anything lower.. too bad uh. First of, the service is totally a ZIP and its mainly a to-go place. The ladies who take the order and bill are awful and rude with no basic mannerisms. The place is deserted and they claim they get dine in people but once you;re there you will know and also its a shady neighborhood. I just wanted to try the place since it had raving reviews and I really doubt those now. Then, food is just alright but not great honestly but again depends on what you order. Some of the dishes were just plain soggy. But then again their bad quality of service trumps the food quality.

I had the vegetarian lunch specials for $6.99. Staff was very friendly. Had to wait a bit for my food to come (~15-20 mins), but I understood why when it came. It had a little bit of everything so I could have a bit of variety. I have low tolerance for spicy food, so I asked for no spicy, but the waitress suggested little spicy for me, which I took it. The food was still a little too spicy for me, but the waitress did offered to change it, which I declined because its not worth the hassle. Despite that, the food tasted great and it was a huge portion with a lot of variety combined for a great price.

Took my little Indian food loving daughter here and she loved it. When we were leaving she said this place is awesome we should come here all the time. She wanted to do a review. Im all for it....... the staff was very friendly. I am a stickler for good customer service any establishment/business I visit. She even came from the back to ask about our meals and were the vsrious spices to our liking. She wanted to make sure if we were trying Indian food for the first time it would be good to us. We will definitely come back.

I heard abt this place from my friend. Its a family owned business by a man who had been a chef for decades. We ordered Mango Lassi authentic and fresh , samosas were crispy and paneer Tikka was well marinated and grilled in tandoor with veggies . Best paneer Tikka I have ever had in USA with soft and fresh paneer. Naan was coming fresh from tandoor their onion kulcha garlic Naan and peshawari Naan all were awesome. I always like when chefs open restaurants vs businessman. Excellent food , great service.

We did catering for our Holiday party with this restaurant and chef Anthony did a fantastic job! His dishes were delicious and many guests were asking me from where I did the catering from. The vegetable biriyani dish was exceptional! We were very pleased with the food quality as well as their service. They delivered the food on time and even gave us a food warmer to keep all the entrees warm. We will definitely cater from them again, and we highly recommend this restaurant for their catering service.

Lunch was garlic naan, Hyderabad eggplant curry and paneer butter masala- all of which were tasty and flavourful. The rates for using the restaurant to host a party are the cheapest I had come across. Met the chef in person and he was friendly and eager to find out how we liked the food. He even offered free sampling of food items if we wanted to host a party. Definitely check out saffron !

We placed an order on the phone and we were told that it would take about 20 to 25 minutes. We waited over 45 minutes and our food was still not ready. Not to mention the girl that takes the order is simply rude with a very very disgusting attitude. I honestly do not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to waste an hour your time trying to get some butter chicken!!!!

Saffron Restaurant is the best Indian restaurant I have been to. The food I have tasted from here is superb. Though its known as an Indian restaurant, the chef here is an all-rounder who is blessed with the gift of making food. They cater food at a very reasonable price. Once you taste the food here, you will definitely come back for more.

ordered for lunch platter with my team 2 goat platter and 2 veg platter, both were awesome, dont judge the restaurant based on the exterior, interior is good and the food is pretty good. Price is very decent for the quantity and number of items they serve in the platter. Thumbs up for saffron, must try place.

Food was tasteless and did not look remotely Indian. I am not sure how the place got such a high rating of 4.7, I am guessing a lot of self rating. Service was non existent, we saw family sitting on table next table left after waiting for 30 minutes. No one came to ask for cheque. Very disappointed.

This is a newly opened restaurant but the service is wonderful. The food is out of this world, if you have an inclination for spicy food, especially Indian. I have visited this place a couple of times and the food is always excellent. Try the lunch menu, if you work around this area. Its great.
