I rarely leave reviews, but I decided to write one for Ja Kum Sung after reading owners replies. Ja Kum Sungs owner seems genuine and authentic with his/her replies and I felt the need to let him/her know about my (and my familys) experience and concerns with the restaurant. Our family owns small businesses in Glen Burnie area and that means we spend a lot of time there. Thus, we find it pretty convenient to eat at Ja Kum Sung and I do like their food~! My favorite dish is the fried chicken wings with spicy and sweet sauce. Although Ive tried many other dishes here, I seem to only crave their wings. Ive had it many times before and when its cooked right, its delicious! Its just that the taste of these wings are not consistent. A few bad batches I had were just spicy and tasted bland. My father also frequents this place and he had similar complaints... He sometimes gets huge vegetables (bigger than usual) in his stir-fried black bean noodles and he hates that. My fathers favorite is Spicy Cod Fish soup at Ja Kum Sung. He said he likes the taste of this soup most of the time :) I guess the soup is inconsistent as well. Even though Ja Kum Sung is not perfect, our family still loves going there. so I feel that I owe it to this lovely restaurant to give them my feedback on how well there are doing. Please DO keep up with your friendly service, cleanliness, and tasty food. Food...please BE consistent with your food. In my humble opinion, consistency (in taste) will be the key to this restaurants success :)

This restaurant is a great new addition to the Korean fare around Glen Burnie. While the other restaurants in the area lean more towards traditional Korean dishes, this one focuses more on Korean Chinese food. It is very much like the Chinese restaurants I visited while living in Korea. Service here is hit or miss. When it is not busy the staff takes time to check on you, make recommendations, and even have a pleasant chat if they have time. Otherwise you can end up with incomplete orders and have to press them to even get a water refill. Food is outstanding. I really like the lunch specials, especially the lunch boxes. They come with a selection of tempura, salad, noodles, fried rice, and entree. Great combo! For regular entrees, portions are good and the food is prepared well. My son loves the chili chicken, and daughter likes the noodles with black bean sauce. Overall, a good place to try for a great menu that offers some unique items not found at nearby locations. They are good for experienced and first-time Korean food lovers alike. Just try to come at a less busy time.

I cant imagine I would have ever said this about a Korean restaurant, but Ja Kum Sung has the most authentic Korean food Ive tasted since Nam Dae Mun Market in Seoul; read: Ja Jang Myun, Kimchee Pancakes; AND the best Asian Fusion Food in the DC/Baltimore Metro and surrounding area - read: chicken BulGoGi and fried Mandu (pot stickers) It used to be Red Parrot - no more. It isnt just that the entrees are good and reasonably priced, but the extra attention to detail. The noodles are handmade fresh on site. The pickled onions that came with my meal were amazing! And the fresh Kimchee was the perfect! Im sad that we live an hour away - but it will be worth the trip when we go back again!

Not bad at all. Food was quite nice. Weve never really done Korean before, and this is a Korean-Chinese mesh. The waitress explained the various options to us, as well as what is spicy and what is not (very important to us). Food came in a decent amount of time. The waitress had to remind us which plate was which (newbies here ...). Friendly. Restaurant was not very loud, in spite of several little kids running around. And the prices were reasonable, in our opinion. May or may not go again. Slightly out of out way for us, but you never know.

The food quality was good, but make sure you order exactly from the menu with no alterations. We were repeatedly told: spice level cant be changed, beef cant be replaced by chicken, we cant have white rice instead of fried rice, etc. Basically simple changes that any other restaurant can do, our waitress here couldnt. Furthermore, theres really only two vegetarian items on the menu: bibimbap without beef and a plate of boiled vegetables. Ive been to other Korean restaurants that can use vegetable broth instead of beef stock, but not here.

I grabbed my room mate and we ventured out to Ja Kum Sung and I will always pick this as my first choice. The ladies serving us were absolutely kind and lovely. They were super polite and were there any time we needed help. The food was perfect. My friend got bolgolgi and I got the dolsot bibimbop and we both split the fried dumplings. Everything was flavorful, fresh and amazingly spiced. My friend was super happy with her own meal. Plus the serving sizes are huge. I was so super happy, I will definitely be back.

The food here is so good! My favorite dish is the kimchi jaeyook bokum or the the sauteed kimchi and pork with vegetables in a spicy sauce. The serving size is pretty big with this dish, so it can easily be shared between a party of 2-3 people. There are so many other delicious items on the menu as well. Everytime I visit with my family, we leave satisfied because the food is so good, and the waiting staff is so helpful. I definitely recommend this place, and will be returning very soon!

Excellent Korean food! The manager/owner made it a point to come personally welcome me and my family. That goes a long way for me as we can easily go to numerous restaurants in the area. Thank you for making us feel welcome. They have plenty of seating and it is truly a family experience! Ive been to Korea many times and even lived there for a year. This is very much like one of the excellent restaurants I was fortunate to experience while I was there

The food was great. Our family of four each had an entree, plus two appetizers, and the bill was about $40. The description on the menus were very clear, so we all tried something a little more exotic than we normally get, but all really happy about what we got. I also really like the atmosphere. It seemed authentic and clean, but very relaxed; we never felt rushed to leave, unlike a lot of chain restaurants lately.

Ive been to this restaurant many times and the food and service has always been wonderful. My favorites are the sweet and spicy chicken wings, noodles with black bean sauce, dumplings(steamed or fried), and fried rice with chicken(or shrimp). The employees are friendly and even offer recommendations if youre not sure what to try. If you enjoy Korean-style Chinese food I highly recommend them.

Food is amazing. One of well known chef works here who makes the best chinese-korean food. Their garlic chicken and jjajangmyun are so good! I stopped going after I saw a giant rat literally walking across the restaurant floor. It really defeats the purpose of eating there now.. Waitress and the manager clearly saw it at the same time, but they werent even apologetic at all.

Food here is phenomenal! I personally love the "good mandoo" the ingredients they use in the mandoo tastes fresh. Most of the foods that i have had here is all served hot never cold which is always a plus since the food sometimes that I get from chinese restaurants seems to be cold. If you want fresh and hot food... this is the place to come!
