Being one of only two Indian restaurants on the coast, its already got a leg up on the competition. The service is quick, the atmosphere is unique, and the food is amazing. For lunch, they have a $10 buffet with an assortment of delectable dishes that will keep you going back up for more, and at the price, your wallet wont mind. For dinner they offer a full menu with something for everyone. I kept it simple and ordered a nimbu pani (traditional Indian spiced lemonade), two vegetable samosa, a vegetable curry with rice and buttery naan, and for dessert, their best kept secret, an incredible homemade mango ice cream. The food was unreal. If you live here and havent been yet, shame on you. If youre visiting and/or just passing through, make sure you stop by Orchid Indian Cuisine before you leave, or youll miss out on possibly the coasts best little hidden Indian restaurant.

OVERALL - Great food, excellent dining area, super professional/friendly wait staff and owners. The Orchid was beyond anything Id expect to find in Southern Mississippi. This hidden jewel of a restaurant not only has a excellent dining area but food to match. My wife and I were looking for authentic Indian cuisine with some of our favorite dishes and we were surprised to find all we were looking for at the Orchid. The owners and wait staff are super friendly and treated us as if we were family. You can really tell they put their heart and souls into this place to make it a perfect culinary experience. If you are ever in the area visit the Orchid and see how wonderful it is for yourself. Background: I grew up eating Pakistani/Indian cuisine in many areas around the USA. Orchid is now on the top of my list of best home cooked Indian favorite

Dined at this place a month ago while at the beach, mainly because of the good reviews , but was thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the food. Very poor representation of Indian cuisine. Almost every curry on offer in the buffet had loads of food coloring, the taste was subpar. The appetizers were stale or were deep fried in stale oil. Even their so called famous dessert of Mango custard had loads of coloring and artificial flavoring. Only item that was good was their naan, the flatbread. Sadly in the name of making it economical, the menu is severely lacking in quality. Yes the owner was friendly and the service quick, but that doesnt make the food any more better. Would never visit again.

Its safe to say that this is the best Indian food on the coast. There are two ways to eat at Orchid: the lunch buffet, which is lots of different items for a very economical price but seldom any meat but chicken. If you want mostly vegetarian, this is a good option. You can also order off the menu, particularly in the evening, which tends to be a bit spendy but gives you a lot more meat options. If you go this route, I recommend you try the Mango Lamb. Worth mention is that this is real Indian food. The owner told me that they serve neither beef nor pork out of respect for the Hindu and Muslim beliefs of most Indians and that all their meat comes from a halal source.

Dined at Orchid for our 2nd wedding anniversary! The quality and taste of the food was excellent! The atmosphere was cozy and the service very personable and friendly! Im an Indian from Singapore and have eaten at Indian restaurants in Singapore, Malaysia and India and have no complaints on the authenticity of the taste of the few dishes we ordered for dinner. I loved the mutton vindaloo that was awesome! I thought those negative comments were mean! I am so grateful that I can have high quality Indian cuisine with a really impressive selection of dishes at Gulfport, MS. Looking forward to my next visit!

Well, I was surprised to see an Indian restaurant near the gulf area. Nice location. They have buffet as well as ala carta options. You can get beer too. Food was OK. Nothing was extraordinary to be remembered. They make it less spicy- way too less infact. I can understand its because most of the crowds are not indians but if you dont have even mild spicy food - you lost that indian touch. The owner/manager was a good person. He was attentive to the guests and very prompt. He proactively offered us some suggestions. All in one - if you are craving for indian good in the gulf area-go for it.

I went there for the first time with my family. i have tried all the Indian restaurants in new Orleans, mobile and Pensacola. ORCHID IN GULF PORT beats all the Indian restaurants. The food and service at orchid was very good. Being an Indian, i know my flavors, i do not do reviews online but when i saw the negative reviews, i had to say something. Palak Paneer, malai kofta, biryani and garlic and cilantro naan will blow you away.i will make orchid a frequent stop whenever im in gulf port.

I have eaten here once a week for the last couple months!! Im not sure whats wrong with the 1 star reviews. The staff is friendly, the food is wonderful and its all for a great price. I think some people are just jaded. India is a very very diverse country with many types of cuisine. This is just one type of Indian cooking. Just because it doesnt match the last Indian restaurant you went to doesnt make it not Indian. Give it a try and Im sure you will agree. GREAT FOOD, GREAT PEOPLE!

I love this place. I have to drive 45 minutes to eat here. I happily make the drive at least once a week. And the staff is super. They remember me and take care of my food allergies without me even mentioning it after only two visits. The food is fantastic. Im a lightweight and cant handle very much spice, they are always very accommodating. I recommend The Orchid to anyone who will listen. I have treated many friends because its so affordable. I cant say enough praise.

We eat here as often as we can. The service is always quick and the food good. The food isnt really spicy - they cater to the local demographic. You can, though, tell them youd like modifications or ask for pickle and they are glad to take care of you And their breads are absolutely to die for, as is the mango ice cream... I think their prices are quite reasonable. BTW, the naan is supposed to be a bit burned - its like roux, better if its dark...

My husband and I eat here weekly, either lunch or dinner. Theres a buffet option during lunch and you can still order items off the menu. Dinner is our favorite time. The food is delicious and make amazing leftovers. The owner and the staff here are very nice and attentive. I absolutely recommend coming here for your Indian food cravings. Even though Orchid is the only Indian place in Biloxi/Gulfport area; its delicious and worth the visit.

We absolutely love Orchid!!! We can always find something to eat with dairy & gluten allergies. The staff are wonderfully helpful and always point out what we can eat. They also have a delicious bread we can have too! My 3 1/2 yr old loves it!!! And my vegetarian friend can always find choices as well. Indian food is my favorite! Family friendly too and my son has a crush on the little girl that is often there on the weekends. :-)
