DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I wouldnt even give this place one start, but I had to in order to write this review. First of all when I was getting a fork I noticed the clean dishes where mixed with the dirty dishes, so I had to use to go silverware. Then when I was in line to get some ribs I saw the cook place an uncooked rack of ribs 1inch away from a full cooked stack of ribs all on the same cutting board. The ribs looked good, but after witnessing the cross contamination I had to get something else. Unfortunatly, the horrors didnt end there, because as I was eating my chicken I realized it was under cooked. I kid you not when I say the blood from the chicken was literally squirting out. After being completely mortified I immediately notified the manger, who in response wanted to give me a certificate to come back to that place for free, but thankfully in the end he gave me my money back, because God knows I wont be going back there. On my way out I saw a man throw up near the desert area, and after the clear disregard for food safety laws in that place I suspect he was sick from the food. This was the worst experience in my life at a restaurant. Every restaurant brakes a few food safety laws when it comes to cleanliness but NEVER HAVE I EVER witness a case as bad as this one. They are literally poisoning people.

Pros- the pot roast is always awesome!!! I come to this place to eat meat and salad. The meats are always hot, always tender. And the salad bar rocks too. Well stocked and clean, lots of choice toppings for your salad. Cons- all the fried food Ive tasted here is always over cooked and hard. Their big shrimps actually hurt my teeth. Chicken tenders and fish fillets, dry and tasteless. French fries, all varieties, cold and hard. I also dont like the waitstaff (what a joke), they bother the hell out of me. Theyre nothing but glorified bus boys and girls. Sure, they get you drink refills but I dont need them too. I have to get up and get my own food, I can get my own refill as well. Just take away the empty plates (Im up, I can do that myself too) and leave me alone. And leave them a tip?! Forget it. And finally the price. Its good for me (I love that pot roast and I eat alot) but expensive for what it is. We usually go three people at a time and the bill is like $50-$60, thats lunchtime. My teenager eats like one plate and shes done. Such a waste. Overall, I like this place tho. Its clean and new and I love what I get. Bring an empty stomach to get your moneys worth.

I came here during their Shrimp Spectacular Special Something Something. Not the place to go for shrimp... or any other food item for that matter. The employee manning the grill used tongs to handle raw chicken, then USED THE SAME TONGS to serve me the grilled shrimp. I took the shrimp to the manager IMMEDIATELY and explained why I would NEVER eat from their grill again. A TOTAL VIOLATION OF HEALTH CODES FOR SAFE FOOD HANDLING! DINE AT OWN RISK!! Oooo, they have a chocolate fountain. WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW - unattended children go to the fountain, stick their fingers under the flowing chocolate, lick their fingers off, then stick them back into the flow again. I have seen this with my own eyes. Others in my party witnessed the same thing. No parents around to stop them and the employees were oblivious. COMPLETELY CONTAMINATING THE CHOCOLATE!!! UTTERLY DISGUSTING!!! DONE WITH THIS PLACE FOR GOOD!! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND "ANY" GOLDEN CORRAL TO ANYONE!! DINE AT OWN RISK!!

i for one have always been a fan of Golden Corral. aside from this poor time i still am, just not of this location. the food was of poor quality and all of the food out was old and who knows how long it had been sitting there. in comparison to the other golden corral locations this one is very small and has a very small selection of food. this is the third time i have been to this location and it for sure will be my last. not only was the food of poor quality the place was populated by what seemed to be a small infestation of gnats. though the wait staff seemed nice they where very inattentive to the people there and it wasnt even busy. the only thing i enjoyed about my visit to this location was the drink (which isnt prepared by the "cooks" that work there) and leaving. if you want a better buffet experience and food selection that is actually worth the cost there are many other better places than this one to go to. in short: Avoid at all cost.

OMG.... I ate at the Golden Corral 12 yrs ago in Illinois... And it was terrible then.... So I thought, after all these years, it would be better.... After all, the one here in Austin is usually crowded. Much to my surprise... It was the same middle school 1977 cafeteria processed food. It all looks good when you walk in, displayed nicely.... Until that first bite. Im not unreasonable, I dont expect 5 star resturant quality.... But really people... Only items that werent half mixed, chalky, flavorless and or over salted was the steamed broccoli. Even the desserts were so disappointing... The chocolate mix in the pie and pudding wasnt mixed well, leaving dried chunks, the jello was frozen at the bottom of the cup and included a dollop of dried out whip cream on top. I gave up there, all the desserts looked like a hot mess. On the flipside, our table was clean, plates too, our server was really sweet, the Dr. Pepper was fab. Cheers

This South Golden Coral being the newest one in Austin, Tx is and was from the beginning horrible! I went there day one opening, food was like frozen, under cooked and greasy! Went there about 2 weeks after, they cut the portion sizes (I guess to control amount eaten) and still was under cooked. When I took a bite of my fried catfish it was frozen inside. Told the manager and all he could say was that he would tell the cooks and would cook it proper. HA! I went just this past week for breakfast and sad, sad sad! Bacon was swimming in grease, biscuits were soggy, tamales were fake tasting. The only thing that was decent, I had 1 fresh egg cooked right on the spot in front of me. McDonalds has better fresher food than is restaurant. Very disappointed, thinking it would be or have the quality that the North Golden Corral has. Please be ware of the South Golden Corral. Being less than a year old, it is nasty! Waste of money.

The food is great, its getting in that is the problem. Lets start with the parking, its a cluster f*** to get around the parking lot. Everybody sits and blocks all entrances and exits, its like a maze just to find a parking space. And when you finally find a space they are TOO SMALL. I can barley fit my regular size pickup in the spaces, both lines on either side still touch the wheels even when I am perfectly centered in the space. To everyone with trucks or SUVs, prepare for door ding hell. The old GC had tons of parking and adiquit spacing, I feel that here they tried to squeeze as much space as they could out of the property. Then you go inside, to continue the maze, I feel like Im in the movie Labyrinth when Im here. There is no sense of order inside, you just get in where you fit in. I feel they could have used the space a hell of a lot better, inside and out.
