This place was rocking when it opened. It was clean, the food was good, and the lines were out the door. Now it is sad, and the place shows it. The trainers have left, the floors are dirty, the forks, spoons, and plates are dirty, and the staff is unmotivated. Looks like its the same old Golden Corral it was before the hip new location. Little bit of advice, hire some bus boys to keep the place clean, get rid of the waiters, and put in some self serve drinks. Last time I was there, there was a fight between waiters and their areas - and all they did was complain about how the manager just confuses them. - Oh and a note to the general public - here are some buffet rules: dont touch the food(if you touch it, its yours), dont taste the food at the serving area, dont put your fingers into the chocolate/butterscotch dispensers to taste it, use tongs, or serving utensils - not your fingers, control your children, control yourself, and wait in line in an orderly fashion while the person ahead of you gets the food (dont just jump in front of the food in the opposite direction of the line), act civilized, and shower before you go out in public. Every time i go, i think hey thats a great idea, then when i am leaving, i think never bring me here again.

Can get rather busy during the weekends, but the food hardly runs out. Restrooms red to be serviced more often during the weekends - overflowing waste basket and wet counters. A great feature is the ability to open the door using your forearm, but this would be made better by also adding the door opener. Also, the hand dryer nearest to the door does not work. Waiters are usually spot except that on a Friday afternoon my glass of water was never refilled despite the slow hour. I had noticed my waiter grouped with other waiters, chatting and only every so often clearing tables. I would like for there to be an accessible emergency exit on the south dining area because it is the only face of the property with an exit. If a fire broke out in the kitchen, then south dining area would be cut off from an exit. Do not eat in the south side.

Love the fact that Tx is finally offering breakfast in some form on weekdays. Weve waited 10+ years for Tx to catch up with the times. Some improvement of some items, manager on the floor on the last 2 ams we visited. However food holding temps not correct on many items. Mgr did check a few items after i brought it to his attention. Mast food handlers/ prep staff had hair covered +were wearing gloves as required. Others did not have either. Several health dept issues concerning food handling and basic health safety concerns ...chef stepping iitside fromt doors in uniform to smoke then return immediately to grilling chicken, etc on his grill. He didnt remove his apron to leave or change it after being outside OR WASH HIS HANDS OR ADD GLOVES. IM JUST GLAD WE WERE FINISHED BEFORE I SAW THAT.

Dont listen to the local guides who suggest there are better places to eat at lower costs and for some reason or other, shouldnt be done. Ive eaten at this place during their dinner and breakfast buffets TWICE. Both times I tasted food that was definitely re-heated, uncharacteristically chewy, and food that had been over cooked. The service? The four visits I made over the past year (including one three days ago) I had one waitress who noticed, during the last 5 minutes of my stay, that I needed a refill. 2/4 times I didnt even have one acknowledge my existence. I didnt want to try it after the first time, but I tried it three additional times, so I could, with confidence, post on here with an appropriate star level. With confidence, this place deserves the one star rating.

Horrible!! Lugar la comida muy mal hecha llena de grasa, las instalaciones pienso estan muy descuidadas. Las cucharas y tenedores llenos de comida k asco!! Llevarlas ala boca de uno, no habia costillas ni nada BBQ, mis bebidas tadaron mucho en traerlas... creo esto es culpa del MANAGER ke no les exige limpieza, atencion, y buena comida para sus clientes. NO VUELVO!!

No me gusto nada la verdad hay poca variedad de comida los tenedores y las cucharas están sucios el personal te trata como si le debieras algo uno viene a comer no a verles la cara de amargados que traen si no les gusta su trabajo busquen otro los baños unos sirven y otros no es un abuso para lo que cobran con todo respeto lo digo pero no me gusto nada

Muy buena comida como a mi me gusta. Las cinco estrellas es por la comida. Los meseros hay q estar llamándoles porque nunca están pendiente, incluso te sirves por primera vez y aún no te llega tu atencion. Otra cosa es los platos casi estillados, guallados e incluso sucios aún. Creo k el Gerente del local debe velar por este asunto.

If I could give a zero star I would. Service was great. Drinks where refilled and the dirty plates where removed. But let talk about the food. Dry and old. Ribs where terrible. Pans where empty and nasty looking. I counted tator tots in five different locations. Hardly and steamed vegetables. I was lucky to get two little slivers of steak. The ice cream was melting as it came out of the machine. I cant even talk about the bathroom. Turned my stomach. Now I eat at Golden Coral at least twice a month and 95% of the time I love the food. This was the worst ever. I do love this company and I will be back. I just hope this one location gets there act together.

The place seems pretty big it is a bit odd of a layout but seems pretty open for a buffet. The food is usually good not like oh my gosh great but still filling and I like how at buffets you can get a plate to two or three and its like you can portion your own food. Theres a wide variety to choose from as well which isnt always the case. Employees both servers and dish washers do a great job on having clean plates and silverware to clean tables. The servers tend to be very diligently lately. I recommend if you ever feel like going and are hesitant. It does get crowded though so beware. Also a bit loud at times.

I have ve eaten here three times, and have not been back in about two years. Truth be told, I dont think Ill be back at all. The service would not impress anyone. Whoever is running this GC needs to be fired, its obvious he or she does not care. It can and does get really packed with some of our south of the border visitors. (Not Winter Texans) They can be really messy and have a bad attitude and they dont give a rats tail. I prefer to drive all the way to Harlingen to go to a GC.

Personally I remember when Golden Corral was a good place to eat at with the family every other weekend. Recently I had bad experiences in two different occasions, first time the forks werent clean the food was cold and not much to chose from. Second time around the same thing forks dirty you could taste the iron on them or metal whatever that was, and the food was cold and they never refilled the buffet trays.. Not a good selection of food, environment some what tolerable.
