I decided to go here with co-workers thinking that there would be enough people eating, that the trays were being refilled with fresh food. Oh boy, was I wrong! One of the seafood dishes had an odor to it, which made it questionable to eat. There were two kinds of seaweed salad, one of them, my co-workers buys at MT on a regular basis and knows what it should taste like...it was spoiled. Now, the one by the sushi bar in a "little pocket" was okay to eat. I got some cheese wontons and they were old (meaning the wonton was not crunchy and you knew it had been sitting there for a while). The chicken and jalapenos was flavorful, but also had been out for a while because the meat was tough and dry. The same goes for the Teriyaki Chicken skewers. The steak fries were excellent, crisp and fresh! The final straw was when the homeless guy that was panhandling outside the door was seated in the same room as us. When he got up to get food, the aroma that followed him was enough to nauseate me and my two co-workers that we had to leave. I am all for having an open door policy, but when he stunk the way he did and is now handling the ladles for the food, I cannot say that I will be back to this establishment.

My fiance and I came to this restaurant for the first time. We were absolutely in awe of this experience. It was extremely hot as if there was no air running. The food looked old like it had been sitting all day also. The so called waitress was extremely rude. I asked her to remove the plate that we had in the middle of the table which had food that was hard or distasteful. She set it right next to me on the table next to me. She also stood there and watched us and another table eat also for some time. Later I had to locate her to get a refill on my drink. We were very concerned of food poisoning. It was a very unsanitary environment. When I received the bill I went to the woman sitting in the very front. I was very candid with her and asked if they had recently opened. She said no. I explained how dissatisfied I was and she didnt apologize or offer to refund our money. We will never ever come back. On the website it says its $10.95 for dinner but were charged $12.95 each. I will be letting everyone I know to avoid this place like the plaque. Bad food, hot environment, rude waitress, unsanitary and bad management.

The price is way to expensive for the value of food they expect you to enjoy. You could tell the food has been sitting there all day, the chicken was very hard to chew, the noodles were dry. My friends mother went there today to get her money back because they over charged her yesterday and she brought her daughter with her and as she was speaking to the manager the man thought her daughter was recording so he grabbed her by the arm and pushed her on the floor. My friends mother is now pressing charges so, I would not recommend this place to anyone ever. If you want a delicious Asian meal try Teriyaki Madness located at 7301 Burnet Rd. Austin, Tx. Its definitely fresh and delicious, its not a buffet but very very great!

Food is good but when I asked for lemon the waitress brought me limes, no one speaks English and the last time I checked, English is the official language of the USA! Then before leaving we headed to restroom to wash hands and there was a trail of vomit all the way to the restroom and both lavatories were full of vomit as well. We notified a waiter about the situation and all he did was look away like he did not want to hear us!!! Maybe I should have slipped and fell in the vomit and sued them then they might listen and understand English!!!

Time I arrived for lunch - 12:30. This place seemed very unsanitary , especially the sushi bar. They used the same rag to clean the dirty plates (that were also put back out on the bar) that sushi rolls were on to clean their knives , to clean the cutting boards, to clean the bar itself. The tops of the sauces on the tables were disgusting with caked up dried sauce. Many of the foods were cold or Luke warm. The server unwrapped our straws and put them in our drinks for us (I hope his hands were clean). Overall we had a bad experience.

Wow! Recently remodeled. I came here a couple years ago and hated it, but this is THE SPOT TO GO for lunch now. The buffet has doubled in size, the food was SUPER FRESH, and they left me along so that I could eat. The chicken pieces in the sesame chicken were whole pieces of crunchy chicken, not mushy and clumped together. They had fresh seafood salad, fried catfish, grilled salmon, and tons of sushi! This is probably the best Chinese buffet in Austin Tex now. Go!!!!!

I have been in Austin 6.5 years and so far this is the best buffet Ive eaten at...and I have been out to more than 3-4. Theres such a selection of food that I could not experience them all... even half, however I did enjoy the seafood, soup and everything else that I ate. I will go back again with my sister-in-law and even alone is she is not available. I only gave four stars because I am sure theres more buffet in Austin that I have not had the pleasure to dine-in.

So glad Thomas Buffet have a new location near where I lived. I have eaten at this place for many years and I am always pleased with the quality of their food. Usually go there during the weekend when they served blue crabs and oyster. There are huge selection of seafood like salmon, catfish, craw fish and of course my favorite Flounder:) Oh, almost forgot to mention now they have Mongolian BBQ at the new location. I always like to make a plate of my own.

Very bad, We waited with our plate of raw food, for 10 minutes before the cook came to cook it. Plus the grill was cold, and he put the food on the cold grill. The vegetables were NOT cooked properly. He mixed my food, with my husbands, and since I had mushrooms, my husband who is allergic, could not eat his. Very disappointing. This was a second chance trying the buffet, and felt like the food was leftovers from The Fugian.

This place used to be a decent mid-range Chinese buffet, but at some point in the last couple of months, the owners put a *lot* of work into it and now its GREAT. Everything, from the soups to the sushi to the entrees to the ambience, is just a little bit better than it was, and the price hasnt gone up a dime - still $11 for weekday lunch and $14 for dinner and weekends. Very pleased with the changes.

Excellent place to eat many different dishes. I liked it the new menu that has dim sum. Service is good. They regularly came to refill our drinks. Some of the dishes there are a little tough when it sits our for a while, but this is expected at a buffet place. Interior is always clean and the bathroom is in excellent condition. I love the salads selections. I go there at least 4 times a month.
