I chose to disagree with most of the bad comments written about this place, this Chinese buffet does a pretty remarkable job at keeping up with the daily demands of those who visit, granted they only have a small number of staff running the place. Ive eaten here every day that I work (Yes I worked here as a bus boy, and also helped prepare food at times) and Ive never once gotten a stomach ache or heartburn at that, I love the food served here, it fills me up every time and the sushi is the greatest Ive ever eaten. The pizza is not that great, but hey its a Chinese buffet not a Cicis pizza. It is busiest on Sundays, the place gets jam packed and often times there arent enough plates for everyone. Overall it is a great place to have lunch and to pass time, highly recommend going there

My boyfriend & I came here expecting, at the least, quality food. This restaurant did not deliver our expectations. A lot of the food tasted like frozen food that just needed to be qdefrosted & sauced. I lost my appetite after cutting open the meats to see an unfamiliar substance. Definitely would not recommend. In addition to the lack of quality food, the amount of food available is minimal. Not to mention, the front desk hostess looked like she was only wearing a bralette with no cover up. Not something I would want my kids to see. The only positive aspect of the restaurant is that the employees were kind and attentive. P.S. The chips were stale and the "cake" tasted like sponges.

I keep forgetting never to come to joy east. Absolutely the worst food in town and all the kids are running around tables playing hide and go seek. One practically naked and holding a salt shaker from the table to his tongue. Half the food u put in your mouth makes u think hmm I hope I dont get food poisoning later because this doesnt taste right. Pretty bad that best thing I ate on my visit was the fries and fortune cookie. Omg even the ice cream doesnt taste like ice cream and I asked the english speaking waitress for sweet and low and she brought me Saracha sauce. I come here every few years just to see if there is an improvement but I am always disappointed. So sad.

This place deserves 0 stars...but thats not an option...today my family and i were very disrepected...we were constantly stared down at while eating...and it made us very uncomfortable...we even told them it was making is uncomfortable and they said they just wanted to make sure they got paid. Let mebjust tell u they did not stop staring at us like if we were somebkind of thieves. I dnt wanna think its cuz we Mexican...but that might b why. Pretty stupid place. Oh...n my 7 year old got charged as an adult...!!! First and last time we EVER eat here...I had never ever felt so disrepected at a restaurant before...its freakn pathetic....!!!!

I did not choose to eat there but did so at the request of a business associate and did so after reading a few horrible reviews. It was $22 for 2 adults with two drinks and the food was okay. I did find a bone in a piece of chicken and steered of the sushi but the broccoli beef, broccoli chicken, and kung pao were edible. The outside of this place is a trip though: flashing lights and all sorts of unusual things but the inside was normal enough. The wait staff was friendly too. I probably wouldnt choose to go there but dont feel sick yet so I guess thats good.

El lugar completamente sucio! Pocas opciones de comida y de muy mala calidad. Los camarones son camarones secos solo salteados con mas sal. Los niños son contados por su estatura no por la edad, y para colmo la estatura establecida es ridicula. Los baños son un asco!!!!

La verdad. No bueno no recomendable muy insípido la comida. . Si hay variedad pero no tiene mucho sabor el alimento. Está muy sucio las carpetas. Etc... si quieren venir mejor paguen. Un poco más y hayan a un buen restaurante. Que valga la pena. suerte

Most of the food selections on the buffet were cold and not even slightly warm. Serving utensils were mixed in with other sides entrées; fried chicken was over cooked, biscuits were hard, and rolls were all cold & smashed flat. It also took a while for the waiter to pay attention and realize we needed refills for our drinks, but by then it was time for us to leave. They begin restocking the buffet at this time by a worker walking thru the buffet line, calling out what he needed on a microphone--where all the patrons could here.

Food was excellent. 5 different shrimp dishes, crawfish, crabs seadoned marvelously. I was very pleased w my food. The Pork ribs were excellent to. I tend to only go to King Buffet but now I have 2 great places to go to. If I was to base my visits on reviews, I would never go anywhere. It was crowded but it was great! I honestly fell in love with those crabs. They have two types...this one had fresh jalapeños in them. I def will be going back! Thank you!

I went to joy east and the smell was awful the food was horrible i wanted to throw up and its so stupid that they mesure by hight not age my sister is 10 shes tall and they charged her as an adult then i saw a rat so i talked to the owner he was rude and had a bad attitude and i asked him for the main owners contact info and he said no and shook his head no its against the law to deny the owners contact info if i could i would give this thing a 0 star rating and

Good selection, food fresh, wont get sick eating the sushi. For the price its a great deal if you need fancy food there is not much of that just the staples of Chinese buffet but hey they never claimed to be a high end restaurant, if you need that there are plenty of places down town taking reservations were you can act like a baller in front of who ever you trying to show off to. Just good, basic, old school Chinese buffet here yall enjoy I know I did.

Its not the best food, or the freshest, but its probably one of my favorite buffets in the area. They usually refill the dishes pretty consistently, and there is a decent variety. There is thin steak grilled to order available off to the side, which isnt good quality but isnt terrible if youre in the mood for a cheap steak included in your buffet price. Ultimately, youre getting what you pay for: cheap, filling food and as much of it as you want.

Let me assure you that I am a hearty eater and not one easily disenchanted with a less than appetizing buffet. Joy East however broke me down immediately. While they lines are quite expansive in both size and reach into non-asian cuisine, they were full of total crap. Even the most basic dishes like sesame chicken were some of the worst Ive ever had. There are asian buffets in Austin for half the price and twice as good.
