Fantastic! Delicious food, my favorite Indian place in town, very authentic unlike most and the lunch buffet is a good price you get many many options mostly vegetarian some spicy some non-spicy for $10 even and free for children 10 and younger. :) Definitely try sometime, and dinner is nice too, the dishes not on buffet are delicious such as the eggplant ones in particular. Excellent naan. Great for dates or the whole family. Nice ambience, alchohol available. I like the vegetarian-only Indian places in town however this one is mostly vegetarian with some very very good meat as well so this is really the best place cant beat the value and it satisfies everyone- those who eat meat, those who dont, those who want spicy (some of the other restaurants dont really have spicy), those who want no spice- the service is good mostly Indian people which is nice run by all Indian people and they listen to what you say very well if you say little bit spicy thats what you get etc. :) Head out today for a fine lunch or dinner experience. The buffet is M-F for lunch, lunch hours 11:30-2:00 but they are nice if you are a little late very accomadating. Dinner is off menu and wow youre in for a treat. Again, it is all very authentic. Try the lasis. Also it is really quite easy to get there for lunch from downtown and LOTS of parking very easy to park so that is a bonus. Very clean. To be fair it is very slightly americanized but it is still among the most Authentic in town actually it is the second most authentic in town number 1 most aunthentic is all vegetarian thus i say this one is my favorite because it has meat for my kids who refuse to be vegetarian like their dad.

Three of us went here for the lunch buffet. Upon entry we noticed how few the choices were. It went downhill after being seated. The waitress came to the table with napkins in one hand and water glasses with the eating utensils in the glasses. She dumped the utensils on the table and dropped the napkins. The food had no spice to it. It seemed like Indian food for people who want bland. The chicken in curry look more like someone dumped Campbells chicken soup over chicken. The tandoori chicken was over cooked. Other than some meatballs , we noticed no beef or lamb dishes. The chutneys were ok. The samosas were bland. Ive been told this place is owned by the same people as Star of India. Go there...more choices and the food tastes like Indian food. How can Bamboo be so busy?

It is true that they will sit close to the counter and just scan the restaurant, which feels a bit unsettling at times. The food at the buffet, was... lack luster. Most of it was good, but the dishes themselves werent exactly sophisticated. What I mean is there was chanaa curry, veg curry, chicken tikka curry, and then a couple rice dishes (there were a couple fish items, and a type of bhiryani as well). But I was hoping there to be nihari, or haleem, or chicken 65, or some other hearty dish, you know? South Asian culture is very diverse, so it might be that some one else from a different background might absolutely love this place. But for me, for ~$14 a head, I didnt think it was superb.

This is by far the best Indian Food in Austin. The price is right for the portion size and the quality is excellent. They always make everything fresh. It always taste like a homemade meal. My husband and I come here for dinner a lot and they have a great lunch buffet. The service is always excellent. The only down fall is my boss at work doesnt like it when I bring the food back to the office because it makes the whole office smell. I work at a dental office....so its not really the best thing to smell when you walk into a dental office.

Good experience for first experience. This place was highly recommended by friends so we decided to take a chance. We had never tried Indian cuisine before so we were a little hesitant. Must say it was nice. Dont let the small appearance of the place fool you, there are big flavors here. And whatever that bread is they give you, absolutely yummy. Must must must try.

To start off, Ive lived in Bombay for 21 years. The food here (Lunch buffet) was amazing. Lots of choices for salad, appetizers (samosas and veg cutlets with chutney) and vegetarian main courses (curry, rice). The flavors reminded me of home. Buffet was decently priced and the owners and staff were very respectful and courteous.

Decided to give it a try again since they had renovated recently. Had Postmates deliver in an hour. Delicious. Best Indian we have had in Austin and we love Indian. We were very surprised and happy to have another good restaurant nearby. Glad we have it another chance. Reasonably priced too.

Charge for papadum (lentil cracker bread). Ive eaten Indian food in major cities everywhere. This is the ONLY one that charges for this mainstay. Id give a 4 star for service and food, but this really frustrates me and I kindly mentioned it to them. I am a regular.

The food is undercooked. The owner is not ready to acknowledge that and saying others like it, I dont know why you dont like it. Worst restaurant I have ever been to. Its nowhere close to "Bombay food". Shame on them for calling themselves Bombay Indian grill.

Had high hopes because we dont get to eat Indian cuisine often at all. We both ended up with severe indigestion and acid reflux all afternoon and night. This hasnt happened to us in the past on the rare occasion that we do go to an Indian restaurant.

Im always surprised how much I enjoy the Indian food in Austin, and this meal was no exception. The chicken tikka masala was excellent. The naan was served hot. The service was great. I would like to try the buffet.

Poor Service, they will watch you and keep an eye what you are having in your plate. Food quality was also not good, there was no chicken in briyani. We went for lunch (12 people) and had worst experience ever.

This place is Mediocre at best. Most of the dishes do not taste authentic or spicy. I eat here if I am in the neighborhood, but I would not travel more than 10 minutes for this restaurant.

Did not get my water refilled nor did I get my check at the table. Poor service. There was so much cream in their chicken tikka that it tasted almost like icecream. Wont go again.

Place could be so much better. Its like the owners just dont care. Place is unclean and dingy, Food is slightly above average. When push comes to shove we use take out only.
