(English & Español) This place food flavor is really great, there are many combinations to choose from so you can get very personalized meals, curries can get pretty spicy so I suggest a mild version to start and you can always get spicier ;-) a definite stop for Indian food lovers. The staff is always friendly.

We visit Tarka often for some great Indian food. You order at the counter, and theyll bring the food out when it is ready. We typically order samosas, one entree each, and a bottle of wine. The service has always been friendly and fast. The appetizer comes out quickly, and the entrees a few minutes later. There is a broad selection of entrees with choices for meat/veggie, and with different heat levels. Their "hot" is white-man hot, so dont expect to get heat-sweats here. The food is on point, and quite tasty. Is it absolutely the best? You could find better with some hunting, but Id easily put this around 7 or 8 out of 10. Given that we can walk in without a rezzie and get great food ... yeah. We do just that :-) Drinks/water are self-serve, though you dont have to bus your own table. They accept the Go Local card, which is nice, and every December they sell gift cards that also come with a discount on your next meal. Since we eat there often, I bought (4) $50 gift cards, and now have (4) $10-off our next meals. So $240 value for just $200.

I must preface this review with, Im not a big fan of Indian. This is not because I dont like the taste, but mainly just my sensitive stomach. So I havent been to a lot of Indian places in my life. But I joined some coworkers for lunch at Tarka and for the most part thought it was pretty good. The Naam bread was definitely the best part, but I also ordered the chicken kabobs since I figured they would be a safe bet for my stomach. I guess Im not a fan of chutney, since I only had one bite with it (but my coworker said it was delicious), but the seasonings they used on the chicken were enough that I ate them without the chutney and enjoyed it. The rice was delicious, but unlike anything I had ever had before since Ive never had rice with onions. If you dont mind onions, youll love the extra flavor their rice has.

I love tarka. I get take out from there all the time. I love the chicken tikka masala and naan, but there are plenty of other great dishes as well. I believe the quality is as good as Bombay Grill or Clay pit. However, a big reason that I go there is that its not a sit down, formal restaurant. I have an infant at home, and I like to get my food to-go most of the time now. Id be perfectly happy to eat there as well. The clean, relaxed, warm, not-so-stuffy atmosphere is perfect for me, most of the time. And if I dont have to pay as much money, that doesnt bother me. In fact Ive had a lot more Indian food recently for that very reason. I can get chicken tikka masala for around $9. I think Ill get it tonight! I wish someone would do this for Italian.

This was my first visit to the south location on a Thursday night. The Tikka Masala -- which is a British dish -- was excellent. Ive had bad so when I tasted good I was pleased. My stomach is very sensitive, so I was more pleased that my tummy was happy hours later. Be aware that on a Thursday night, this restaurant was extremely crowded. We had excessively long wait in line to order our food, an excessively long wait to get what is a simple dish to prepare, and an excessively long time to get a seat. It was kinda weird. Some people had too much alcohol. Then the table next to ours had a crying baby. The table next to ours yelled out something to the crying baby couple. The staff did nothing to help. --- I will leave the rest to your imagination.

This isnt "fine" Indian dining but it works in a pinch. Sometimes I dont want to spend over 40 dollars on Indian food so we go to Tarka often. The kids love the kids tikka masala. They also liked the chicken strips before but dont order them anymore. My wife wishes they had a better spinach or eggplant dish. She doesnt like saag aloo or saag paneer that much. When she wants a healthy option she gets the kabob salad. She said its good but would really like a a solid spinach or eggplant dish. They serve an unfamiliar soda brand thats not appealing to me because there isnt a caffeine free AND diet option but not many places do have that option. You can get food to go and hit the nearby playscape (bonus ). Good place for an Indian beginner.

A semi self-service restaurant at good location, multiple veg options, OK food taste, ordinary ambiance, serving medium sized portions at reasonable prices. Visited the place after a trail at Hamilton pool. Veg Menu - 4/5 - Had dal tarka, aloo gobhi, paneer tikka, chole, veg jalfrezi with rice and roti Food - 3/5 - Ordinary taste for authentic north Indian taste buds Ambiance - 3/5 - Good but nothing Indian about it Service - 3/5 - OK. Its semi-self service (order first and the wait at table) Size and Price - 3/5 - Medium size and price range. Flexibility - They do not replace rice with roti :)

This is a Chipotle-style indian restaurant that boasts flavorful dishes and quick service. We went here for a birthday and split 5 entrees, 3 orders of samosas, and naan all for under $60. Theyve got some vegan options and some nut-free options, as well as many vegetarian options and dishes where you select your own protein. Our favorite things were the samosa sauce and the coconut curry with veggies. Seating is indoors and outdoors (next to the parking lot) but at night being outside was lovely. They have wine by the bottle and glass that was cheap and a great addition to the evening ($19-$30/bottle)!

Ive been to Tarka almost once a week since i discovered it. The food is super tasty and the atmosphere is just right. You dont have to wait for a table or a server, you just walk up to the counter and order, then your fantastic meal gets delivered right to your table. Only on Saturday and Friday nights have i encountered a 15 minute wait...which is no big deal. And to top things off, i dont think ive ever spent more than $25 for two people. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but it is extremely affordable. Try the Daal Makhni or the Dhingri Mattar...both are to die for!

Fast, fresh, cheap, and tasty. Ive heard about Tarka before but have never had the chance to stop by. I stopped by yesterday with a co-worker during lunch and was overall very satisfied. I had the Chicken Pakoras for a starter and then the Coconut Curry w/ Chicken for my entree--which added up to around $11-12. Not bad. My dining partner had the Garlic Naan, which I liked quite a bit as well. It only took about 10 minutes to get our food and it was well worth the wait. Everything tasted great. I definitely plan to return, especially if I need a quick lunch.
