First visit here was excellent. Second visit was not. Inconsistency will kill your business , especially in food service. Ordered scrambled eggs , not runny, bacon, crisp, came with home fries and toast. First eggs came out brown like an overcooked omelette, bacon is precooked in an oven, served cold with congealed fat on it. Asked for eggs that were not brown. Second order of eggs are scrambled light and dripping runny. Yep, cant eat that. Home fries are deep fat fried then sprinkled with some type of seasoned salt. The very definition of home fries would be cooked in a skillet or at least on the grill top. Nobody ever cooked their home fries at home in a deep frier. Also served luke warm. Took everything in a togo box, put my eggs in the microwave at home. For the 10 bucks it cost me, should have stayed home to eat. There were only maybe 8 people on the diner. You would think they could do better. My waiter was top notch . At least the waitstaff is consistently good is worth the 2-3 stars. Food gets a 0.

Everyone was incredibly nice which is important to me. This was my first time so we started off well. The entrees purchased from the Chefs selection were not good. The Summertime Cod was a small portion and smelled almost bad. The Pineapple Stir Fry was horrible. Way too much soy and ginger. The crab and corn soup was really good as were the turkey, meatloaf and liver entrees. The Smith Island Carrot Cake was incredible!! The biggest issue with service was with our 2 orders of Brownie Decadence. Extra plates were requested when the order was placed - not brought with the food. Extra plates were requested again to the servers who bought the desserts out. Waited 5 minutes or so - no plates. Finally was able to flag down our server to ask again and she did bring them immediately. The ice cream was pretty melted by then making it a little hard to share but it was still good. For my first time, I wasnt overly impressed. The food was fair and the place is so loud I could barely understand people I was sitting with.

The diner is amazing! I have been here now over a dozen times and it is consistently a wonder experience. The menu is different and unique from normal run of the mill diner food. It tastes fresh! and is delicious every time. They have a summer menu and and a winter one to make sure you are getting the best of the season. It is clean, the help is so friendly, a hostess greats you with a big smile, the wait help is friendly and personable. They are so accommodating if you want something a little different or will tweak something just to make it the way you want and not make you feel like you are demanding. The food is priced well for such delicious and fresh tasting food. Definitely go here for a wonderful diner experience.

Let me be very specific, I can only give this location one star because it is not possible to rate the location without stars. First, I must compliment Ashley, the server for the night, for extremely pleasant service and knowledge of the menu with its options. For the second time at this location, I received food from an apathetic and ignorant runner. I am so glad that Ashley brought the rest of my order to the table! She made the experience worth it. If today was a TRAINING DAY Ill give the location a pass. Please dont put my dirty ass receipt in the box for my food! Just dont do that! Lastly, dont switch mfn servers while guests are seated. If you take a table, take the fn table.

Based off one meal, I wont be back. My dinner partner was 95% done by the time my waitress came and saw that I wasnt eating, so I didnt bother trying something different. The chicken pot pie had an unbelievable amount of tarragon, to the point of no flavors otherwise being discernible. Lovely presentation, the salads were good, but for that price I am not impressed. The meatloaf wasnt awful but still a bunch of funkiness from how much seasoning there was, and a bit dry. There is probably something awesome on the menu but unfortunately I wont be trying it anytime soon.

Ive been going to Silver Diners for at least 15 years and every location I have visited (Reston, Fairfax, Waldorf) has provided great service. Staff is always friendly and the food is excelent. Always take out of town visiters and they leave ranting and raving. My Mother in law goes everyday when shes town lol. The menu always features new and exciting items while keeping the classics. It also offers something for everyone w vegan and vegetarian options, use local seasonal produce and a great reward card you can use for discounts and free items! You wont be disappointed

We enjoy going to silver dinner in Waldorf. We have been coming to this location sense they opened and regularly attend Tuesday Kids night. We have eaten at this location close to 100 times and Im not kidding you. I have no complaints at all and have nothing but good things to say about the food and service. Sure there has been a couple of off days with the service ( some one new ) but really good food, good service, good environment, good music, and lets not forget kids night. Cant go wrong

This is NOT a diner type of place. The building and decor may fool you into beliving so. Once you open the menu you QUICKLY realize this place has a very limited menu almost completely based around health nut terms like organic, nitrate free, vegetarian, etc. I mean when u order a burger they ask if you want beef..... If anyone remotely thinks this is a true diner they are sadly mistaken. A real diner is about greasey foods and huge portions. Not what ever this was. Would not return.

Food was great, how ever they did not have lamb in stock for my burger, however, they substituted so that was no big deal. What was an issue though was the service. The waitress rarely came to our table and at one point my fiancè got up to flag another server down to get refills on our water. The food was good but took awhile to arrive. It was my fiancès birthday, and at the end of our meal they sang an awesome birthday song compilation for her so that was fantastic.

Visited the Waldorf location on May 30th. . We were immediately seated but waited approx 10 mins without seeing our server. Ended up calling the manager as she walked by. Manager took our drink order and told our server to help us. Our server was next to us the entire time and stated that she did not see us at the table. Hope the food is better than the service. They have a lot of servers so that wasnt the issue. Will think twice before coming here again.

There was trash left on our table from the previous group at our table, we pointed it out and they ignored it, our food came out before our appetizers, everything was dry from sitting under the heat lamps. sandwiches were either soggy or stale from sitting for so long. And after we complained to the manager, our server went AWOL. We were given no discounts and just given free food vouchers for the next time, yeah, thats not ever going to happen.
