Im really sad to not give five stars for this place, as my boyfriend and I chose to stop here for quick sushi eats this evening based on the overall rating of this place (4.5 rating with 48 reviews at the moment Im writing this). We had eaten a pretty late lunch (which was very filling), so we were looking for something light to end the evening. Sushi, soup, and salad sounded like a perfect fit. We looked up their menu online and the selection + prices were very reasonable. First: We arrived to the restaurant and I immediately noticed that their in-person menu prices were ever-so-slightly higher than what they state online. Not super significant - about 50 cents more per sushi, soup, and salad item we ordered (ie. miso soup was $1.99 online but $2.50 in-person - screenshot attached of the comparison). Not trying to be nit-picky here, but I feel like they should update their pricing to be accurate. They also reused the sushi ordering sheet. Past selections were erased from previous customers orders. (I thought this to be a little weird, but I do support recycling.) Second: Our waitress did not seem thrilled that we did not order more for our meal (we ordered 6 pieces of sushi, one soup, and one salad). She asked us three separate times, "This is all?" and she never refilled our water glasses when we were only one of three tables. I kindly said "Thank you" after I paid and departed from our table, but no response was given. However, I will say that the quality of their sushi was delicious and fresh (no fishy taste and certainly good quality!). Also, parking is very convenient at their location - which is nice. I am unsure if I would dine here again. I did not leave feeling particularly valued and (as someone who also owns a business) I believe that, regardless of your order amount, you should be treated well. I spent just a little over $21 which is standard for the small meal that we ate, but also not completely insignificant to be ignored on the way out. Overall, a mediocre visit. Good eats with a service experience that was lacking.

I desperately wanted to love this place. There are so many great reviews and pictures. Maybe I didnt order the right stuff, maybe it was an off night.. Service was poor. They didnt have a dedicated server, just one lady doing all the phone and in house orders. Kept having to ask for things, like our drinks and chopsticks. My son had the chicken teriyaki which was way better in comparison to my sushi. It was standard stir fry with mostly cabbage & onion for veggie. I had the spicy red snapper roll & pickled veggie roll. Red snapper was sloppy/falling apart and did not have any roe as listed in description. The veggies were cut too big bc of how crunchy they were. We most likely will not be back.

There are very few decent places to get sushi here in Charleston, but I was very pleased with the service and food at Shi Ki. Eating here was easily the best dinner experience Ive had in Charleston so far. There wasnt a loud crowd, the service was extremely prompt, our waitress was very friendly, and the food was amazing. It is really the best sushi spot in the city, and I will never go out for Japanese anywhere else in Charleston again.

Read previous reviews and wanted some Japanese food while vacationing in Charleston so I gave this a go. Our uber driver missed the restaurant twice so after walking we figured out why our driver missed it. Its located in a small suite in a plaza in the corner! But dont let the outside fool ya, their food was completely fulfilling. I ordered the gyoza and their shrimp tempura, service was great and prices were reasonable.

Dont let the trendy places fool you, the best sushi is often to be found in unsuspecting places and the worst is often found in the most fancy. We lived in charleston for years and tried almost every sushi place in town, but would return to ShiKi time and time again. The proprietors are very nice and are always there doing the work. Try the volcano roll it is definitely food made art.

I went to this fine sushi establishment last night for the first time, and I was wowed by every aspect. The space itself is beautiful. My friend and I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the waitress who was more than helpful. I recommend reading about Volcano and Crunchy rool on the menu! They take so much care in the quality of fish they serve.

This was the worst Japanese food Ive had. Nobody was there so I shouldve known not to eat there. My meal was so bad, I left half of it. They didnt have side dishes for my child, and the sushi was not fresh at all. How do you mess up a cucumber roll? Dont waste 70 bucks on a horrible meal like we did for 2 people. Was highly disappointed!

What a cute little place downtown! It was so cozy and very well decorated. They dont have a huge selection of sushi, but I think thats because what they offer is really high quality and unique. The Super Crunch Roll was unlike any sushi roll I ever had (included some delicious Asian Pear). We will definitely be back.

My wife and I love sushi, but there arent too many great sushi spots in the Charleston area. One of our Korean friends introduced us to Shi Ki and we have never looked back. The service is excellent, the sushi is perfect, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it to any sushi lover.

Every bite is super fresh and tasty. Lady hostess reminds me of my mom if she ever had to serve me: order quick or wait until I finish what Im doing. Our go to set in dowtown for sushi (and if in Mt Pleasant, Tokyo Bistro so if you like that spot, youll love this place, same vibe)

This is our go-to restaurant when my husband and I have a night out. We traveled through Japan for a month and this is the closest we have found to authentic sushi. It is so fresh, prepared right in front of you, and even reasonably priced. The owner is super nice too.

Delicious! Among the best sushi anywhere and as good as any found in NYC (their sushi is made by a former NYC sushi chef). The outside...the location is in a nondescript shopping center but the inside is cosy and clean. Service is very good.

Without a doubt the best Sushi in Charleston!!! Go for the food, because the atmosphere is unassuming. I am a sushi lover, and have been to every sushi restaurant in the Charleston area, including Mt. P, and West of the Ashley.

Our absolute favorite sushi in the whole Charleston area. The volcano roll is the best Ive ever had, as well as the spicy tuna. The staff is great and the lady waitress is always so sweet to our son.

Food was decent, but nothing to rave about considering I had much better Japanese food in other major cities. Lunch portion tends to be on the small side, and service was, at best, so so.
