Theres so many reasons to go eat Yamato and tonight they let me down. First of all Grille was dirty and the salt pepper shakers felt like they had some kind of grease on them. Someone changed the recipe for the soy dressing for the salad I usually enjoy. The new dressing recipe is terrible. Our Chef was good but overcooked my scallops and then turned my steak into bite-size mincemeat. Overall I love eating Hibachi and my experience here tonight was disappointing to say the least.

Just so everyones on the right page... that miso soup with your chicken entree is actually a clear soup that is served with all of the hibachi meals. its not usually served with tofu or any miso what so ever. the miso soup with the tofu and wakame is served with all sushi entrees and a la carte. the yellowtail is always excellent and the chefs can cook some mean sushi rice. as for the main dining room, ask for bubba or chris to be your chef. theyre great.

We love this style of Japanese food where they cook in front of you. We have lived away for 9 years and recently moved back. I think we liked it better when they first opened.
