In the northeast, where I lived before moving to southern California, these type of sub shops were everywhere, but in San Diego, they are few and far-between. Fortunately, Gaglione Brothers is a very capable sub shop. I love their Cheesesteak with Onions with its thinly-chopped steak and American Cheese. The sub roll is lightly toasted so it has a slight crunch to it, but also to catch the grease and juices. The Sophia Loren is Gaglione Brothers version of an Italian Sub, and it is nearly as good as the Italian Subs one can get back east. As for other sandwiches, Im not as big of a fan of the Turkey Club due to its use of bacon bits rather than strips of bacon. I am, however, a huge fan of the Garlic Fries, which are hot, crispy, and tossed in enough diced garlic to strike fear into the entire region of Transylvania. If you dont feel like making the trip, Gaglione Brothers can be delivered to your home through a number of services, including Prime Now.

In my opinion, Gaglione Bros has by far the best Philly in San Diego. I have been to Philadelphia and eaten at Genos which many people consider to be the holy grail of cheesesteak spots, and Gaglione bros is the only place that even comes CLOSE to comparing. What really makes it is all the different relishes you can add on. I come here so often that I have to find different ways to switch it up and the relish bar really helps out.

As someone who has grown up on the west coast I really have no idea what a Philly Cheese Steak from Philly would taste like. That out of the way this place is pretty damned good. The service is great and the food is delicious. Whether Im stopping in to grab something real quick or to have a sit down meal this place is great. As someone who likes spicy food I recommend the Baja Cheese Steak.

The cost for eating a 12 inches sandwich is $9.50 included tax, it is absolutely not worth it. The roll is skinny, a little bit of union, not much meat for $9.50. Find other place to go, the taste is ordinary, not anything special. If you want to throw your money away, anyone would love to get it. Make it for yourself at home, it is far more worth it. Buy the roll, meat, cheese, you got it.

The meat, onions, cheese; couldnt ask for any better. Unfortunately, the bread was a little too soft for me; I wish it would have been a little crispier. On a side note, there was nothing wrong with the potatoes, but the fries were pretty bland and flavorless. Besides the bread, the sandwich is definitely really good and I would still recommend coming here.

These girls and boys know how to make a sandwich. Great customer service which is paramount. Clean and welcoming, lunch can get busy. If you havent been here definitely go. Worth the money. Beware of parking in front of wahoos fish tacos. I noticed they dont enjoy it. If Whitney is working the register, youre in for a very uplifting experience.

I want to like this place because I love a good cheesesteak. Unfortunately gagliones is zero for two on getting it right. The owner seems to try but I never get what I ordered. Too many better choices to bother with this shop again. Three stars for trying to get it right then minus one for failing to remake a sandwich per the order.

I love the Sophia Loren sandwich. The workers are all nice. They have a pepper bar if you want to add peppers. And they use the spot on card so you can get points and freebies like a free side or a free sandwich. I wish they were open earlier shoo I could take my lunch break earlier

The rolls are fresh and the meat is great. The onions are cut small so they are well integrated within the sandwich. Hands down the best Philly I have ever had, then again Ive never been to PA, so take that with a grain of salt.

I go to the Gaglione Brothers in Point Loma all the time. I am a vegetarian and I love the grilled veggie sandwich and the garlic cheese fries. The fries are amazing, Darell makes the best sandwichs and fries!!
