Absolutely the worst place I have ever eaten sushi, except for the time someone dared me to eat gas station prepackaged kind. Let me preface this by stating that Im not one to give negative feedback, I give credit where credit is due, and also regularly order sushi at restaurants. As soon as we walked in, we regretted our decision to eat simply due to the atmosphere/decor and the personelle. Our server was friendly, but neighboring tables were not so lucky. The unprofessionalism exchanged between waitress and sushi makers at the bar made our visit uncomfortable. The sushi bars ticket machine for orders broke, forcing the sushi chefs to hurriedly prepare all orders haphazardly. When our food did arrive, the pieces fell apart warmly. To make matters worse, the utensils were dirty, our "readied" table needed wiped down, and the soy sauce dishes were tainted with dust. The general texture and taste of the sushi was bland, warm, and non-authentic, yet the miso soup was liced with heavy scallions overpowering the minimal amount of tofu or seaweed. We were left 50$ poorer for bland food, dirty eating conditions, and poor service. Do yourself the favor, and save yourself the trip. Go anywhere else but here.

We went for lunch and ordered the steak hibachi lunch and the salmon hibachi lunch along with the Pittsburgh roll. The hibachi lunch comes with diced veggies and a bowl of rice. The portions are on the smaller side so if youre going for lunch and order the steak expecting to get a full sized steak, youll be disappointed. Honestly the food was on the better side of okay. I thought the steak and salmon were both pretty good, and the roll was decent as well. The price for lunch averages around $12 which is reasonable enough. The decor of the place makes it feel pretty classy, although the booth seats have springs and it felt uneven and not particularly comfortable. Youd think that with the food being pretty good, if at least give it 4 stars, but theres something about the place that just doesnt inspire. Maybe the food just plays it too safe and doesnt really excited, but just satisfies. Or maybe we just had higher expectations coming from a place that has a lot more Japanese food options. I cant really say for sure, but this place was really just okay for me.

Do not waste your money here. We eat at different places all the time and this was by far one of the worst sushi places. We had the plum wine and a martini, 4 sushi plates and the miso soup. It all looked good on the pictures, but when we got it, we realized that it was all frozen and iced fish. That means that it was all mostly old. The fish eggs were artificial not natural, and the sushi was Chinese style not Japanese. Mostly because 60% was rice. I had better sushi at Giant Eagle then this. The chefs are Chinese also. I can vouch for that since I speak Chinese. The miso soup was mostly water, with miso seasoning. The bill came to 67$, outrageous for the quality of the food. This is my first review ever to a place I went so you can imagine how bad this was if I took the time to write this. If you are looking for food go across the street. O to add to the experience that night we both got sick and bloated do to the food. So if you go here make sure you stop at Giant Eagle and get some Pepto-bismol. We actually had to buy that to settle out stomach.

Although the place is very nice and Ive had many wonderful dinners and lunches there, Im sorry to say that last night our night out was far from good. Our server was great. We went there after the improv @ 9 pm, an hour before close. The Hibachis were closed which is fine. We figured that our food would be cooked in the kitchen and would come out the same as usual minus the show. To start, our soup, which I love was luke warm. Our food was just bland and you could tell it was merely heated in a pan and not cooked on the grill. I am a chef and although it is a standard to break down your kitchen prior to closing, all equipment is left on just incase a customer comes in. We were told that the grill was off and cold. An hour before closing???? I wouldnt feel as inclined to speak out if this was a random burger joint but my partys bill was $140. $80 for my wife and I and $60 for the other couple. I would not recommend going to this establishment at a later hour because you will not get what you pay for

Service and cooks are always wonderful and I have never had a problem with the service or food. The cooks are not only well trained but also are very entertained. I suggest requesting Cliff or David. However, the host/hostess and i believe assistant manager are very unprofessional and not customer friendly. I made reservations three weeks in advance for a surprise dinner and everything seemed planned and great until that night. My friends were told that the party could not be sat in the private booth I reserved unless the whole party was there even though the guests told the manager and hostess that two people would be a few more minutes for the surprise and three people got stuck on bad roads because of snow. The managers reaction: We do not take surprise parties because we do not know when people will be done eating. Very unorganized and I will not be making big reservations there again. The only reason I will be back there is because of our cook Cliff and nothing else.

Here is a list of horrible things I discovered at Yokoso.. Dogs for waitresses. White hibachi cooks. Dirty silverware. No waitress for the first 20 minutes upon being seated. Another 10 minute wait for water and hot tea. Another 15 minutes for food. The waitress checked on us once and didt even notice the empty glass of water begging to be refilled. The hibiachi cook at the entrance advised us to turn back and not eat here because of the horrible food. The check was the wrong one, which by the way was triple the price of what we ordered. We asked for the manager, and when she came out 15 minutes later, she informed us that she was very busy in her office fixing the air conditioning. Thats funny, because I thought customers mattered more that your office AC. She told us that she would give us our meal for free, and returned with our bill, at a 30% discount. Ill be sure to tell all of my ex boyfriends, worst enemies, and people that I detest in general to go here.

The food and service were both equally bad. Server didnt provide me with a glass for my beer and didnt come back for quite some time, so I went to the bar to get a glass. The bartender was talking to a table and no one passing the bar asked if I needed help, so I just grabbed a glass and walked away. This caused our server to come running to the table to ask if I needed something and the bartender yelling because I had grabbed a glass. I ordered tuna tar tar, which tasted like canned tuna fish mixed with various types of mayonnaise. I am used to tuna tar tar being a fresh dish with bright red pieces of tuna. This was mashed up pinkish tuna saturated in mayonnaise. I also ordered octopus and squid nigiri. The squid seemed ok at first, but the second piece had the consistency of mucus. I didnt even eat the octopus because of it being squishy to the touch. I give 2 stars because my companion was happy with her heavily Americanized roll.
