Summary: Best value restaurant in Hershey. Great food, great service, great prices, HUGE portions. Be careful not to order too much food because the prices do not reflect the value that you get. Cant recommend this place enough. Went here twice 11 years ago because it was so good. Came back last week and its just as great as I remember. It started to rain and we were hungry after a long day of Hershey-ing. It was about 9 pm and The Hershey Pantry stays open until 10, and having visited it 11 years ago with my family and loving it so much that we went twice in the same 2 or 3 day trip, I was excited to go again. We went inside and were immediately seated in the small, oddly decorated diner-style dining room. We began looking over the menu as our server came by to introduce herself and take our drink orders. She went to go tend to them while we continued reviewing the menu to select. Soon we knew what we wanted. Lobster bisque - My wife got a cup and I got a bowl. I had totally forgotten how massive the portions were and was delivered a huge bowl full of soup. It was around $6. Amazing quality, great taste, and so much that I couldnt finish it because I was scared I wouldnt be able to touch our appetizer and my entree. Delicious! Taco fries - A giant plate full of incredibly delicious potato wedges (perfectly seasoned, textured, and cut), topped with diced tomatoes, seasoned beef (a little dry and overcooked), cheese, and sour cream. We got through about half of these before our entrees came out, but by then we were already pretty full... :( Cheesesteak - A large sandwich filled with sliced steak, grilled onions, cheese, and a tomato sauce (the sauce was kind of a strange topping, but it worked well). By this point, I couldnt eat the sandwich like normal, so I just ate the steak and stuff inside the bread. Very well cooked and very tasty. This also came with house-made potato chips and a pickle. I wish I hadnt eaten so much already. Ultimate Grilled Cheese - My wife considers herself a connoisseur of mac n cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches. She said that this was one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches shes ever had. Four types of cheeses inside, I think. Perfectly toasted. Also has basil or spinach and tomato inside. Comes with a side of pickle and chips. All of this food cost a whopping $36. This was one of the cheapest meals on our trip, but easily the largest and probably the second best (compared to a $$$ fancy restaurant in NY) restaurant we ate at on our trip. Amazing! Come eat here!

First let me state that I am 20year veteran of the industry classicly French trained. We came here as we were town to see our daughter before she took a trip abroad. She said she heard good things. Normally a good play but today it was a mistake. Over cramped dining area in front of establishment. Contemporary classic dishes that the chef decided to try to make unique but ended up making them over complicated and the dishes lose the flavor one desires. I ordered a rueban and the waitress asked me if I wanted my rueban with Turkey? Sorry but thats a Rachel. Speaking of my rueban... A classic dish that is simple and delicious if prepared in the classic style. Here they skimped on the meat and sauerkraut (the staples of the dish)and their home made bread ended up being the largest portion of the dish. Not the way to make a rueban. My wife got the "fish taco" but that was also a classic simple dish that they chose to try to make unique. It was 2 large frozen fried pieces of fish with Romain lettuce and small portion of cole slaw and tomato on a large piece of pita bread and because of the lack of slaw the dish was very dry. Not a taco nor the proper way to make a classic. My 4 year old probably had the best dish at our table with his cheeseburger that had tater tots that were obviously cooked in the same fry oil as the fish as you could smell the fish on the tots. Major no no. Now onto the service. The waitresses were fine with their script and follow ups but the way they delivered the food was a major no no. You do not, I repeat do not ever deliver dishes where you reach across the table having the dish pass inches from the other dining guest face. It goes "leave on the left, retrieve on the right". The only pleasure my family got was making fun of the the flaws. Its a quaint establishment that has some potential if they polished up the technique of the wait staff and get less pretentious with their dishes. Simplicity is key. We will not be returning but hope everyone else who decides to go here has a better experience.

When you first see the pantry, you think that this will be a small perfectly ran business. The appearance is quite magical and nice; however, the experience with staff & their food was different. My wife and I went today (6/1/17) and we sat inside at the counter. We came in for breakfast. I ordered a bacon cheese omelet and she ordered their omlet loaded with vegetables. The bacon was just layed in the middle of the eggs. Not cut up nor diced. My wifes vegetables were just piled into one big ball and wrapped in eggs. Do you really want to eat a large head of broccoli surrounded by other vegetables. This wasnt the best part. My waitress left us for 15 minutes and decided to take a smoke break. The other older brunette Lady waitress kept coughing into her hands and didnt wash them. Anyways, it was an unpleasant experience. The food showed no effort and the staff did unsanitary things. Not to mention that when there are 3-5 servers behind the counter grabbing food from the window, I saw multiple times where their hair would cross over food that was in other servers hands due to limited space.

Tad pricey..but you get what you pay for. We went for breakfast. The decor was very nice. If you wish to seat at the bar and theres an open seat, go for it. If you want a table...well hopefully theres not a wait or youll be standing outside or in their quite small waiting area thats directly in front of the door. Ordered a stack of pancakes...jeesh these things were huge, but good! I got the kid blueberry pancake off the kids menu, which was one cake but the size of a regular. No little silver dollar size im still hungry pancake for kids here...cool. I tried but i couldnt finish my plate. Mister definitely couldnt finish his. Wife had an omlete of some type that was really quite good. My daughter had the sourdough french toast. Portion size was again quite pleasant. But she wasnt impressed with it, and unfortunately i wasnt either. I think a brioche style french toast would have been better. But the service was great as well as the restaurant.

Hersery Park is very expensive. Charge you for everything. All thou its clean, big park. Lots to do and see. You most definitely need two days. We had 5 ppl, best deal for me was buy 2 get 1 free, bought 2 additional tickets, (on line is where I found this deal). Next county over Hummelstown is where to go. Still not far from Hersery Park, 10 mimutes. Dont eat in the park. Very expensive, go off the beaten path. Restruants around/out side Hersery Park is even expensive. Hummelstown , Pa all local, very nice and ppl. Visited CrossWinds Winery at Hersery. Its in Hummelstown in Hersery 621 Hersery Rd. The women was very nice & hospital. Made us feel very welcome. Even told us different inexpensive places to go. Even told us some history about Hummrlstowns County. Of course I was out to buy wine to take back home with me. I bought Perfect Landing. If you like sweet wine. Cherry wine not bad. Sip, eat a dark chocolate kiss, sip again enjoy! :)
