The Arnett Cafe is the best kept secret breakfast place in Rochester. Southern style food with great service. Sundays get pretty busy and the wait can get long, but the food is cheap and the staff is really, very friendly. I get the veggie omelette week after week, though they are known for the southern food, shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles. Also, while some disdain the humble diced and seared potato I have not found a diner in the city which has as consistently good home fries. Ive only ever been disappointed in waiting for food on a busy Sunday, otherwise the Arnett Cafe has been consistently good month after month. Only a breakfast and lunch place, though they are now (summer of 2016) serving at the West Side Farmers Market on Tuesday evening. I have met the owner who sometimes works the dining room and, no joke, been literally embraced by him on a busy Sunday morning. If youre living in the 19th Ward or want to try a new place for breakfast, you wont do better than the Arnett Cafe.

Beat chicken and waffles. Small hole in the wall that will truly surprise you. Wonderful and friendly service. Only waited about ten minutes for our full tables order and it was worth every second. Chicken is surprisingly light on the belly with a beautiful crunch. Perfectly matches the fluffy sweet waffles. Will definitely be making regular returns.

I just found a hidden gem!!! The food was awesome!!!..the waffles are like clouds with heaven in the middle!!..And i dont even have words for the shrimp and grits!!.Please go an support this black own business!!!. Wow! This place is amazing. Its small so if you have a larger party you may have to wait a little bit, but its definitely worth it. The food is phenomenal. Everything tasted very fresh and didnt feel too heavy. A must try if you like southern-style food.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! After sitting for 10 mins my wife and I finally got our drink orders taken. Then DJ Syke and Talent walk in ( no shade to them, very good guys) and get thier order taken and drinks immediately...hmmm

Very good price for pretty good food. Service is always good. Nice quiet comfy place. Floor set up is kinda strange, but still OK. Bathrooms are clean. Dining space is clean. All around good place to keep going to.
