Wonderful atmosphere, food, and the staff was amazing. Spoke to the owner at length today after she came to check on us to make sure our experience was a good. I ended up bringing the low review star rating to her attention and inquired as to why such a wonderful place would have such low reviews. It turns out that is was the opening week woes that caused most of these bad reviews. She was very forthcoming about the reasons. As a person who worked in the service industry, waited tables, and helped to open a restaurant I was able to understand the issues they had and am very glad I looked passed the bad reviews. I will absolutely be coming back as this place is my now go to spot for Indian cuisine. The prices are comparable with their Dallas location and honestly the selection might not be as grandiose as Golden Coral but unlike Golden Coral their food is fresh, hasnt been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, etc. To put the cost into perspective, my husband and I will go to Texas Roadhouse or Cheddars and spend the same amount of money on food that isnt an all you can eat buffet. I highly recommend this place and hope that you will look passed the low rating as I did.

If there is a way to give zero star I would be more happy. The curry that I ordered was not even one-fourth the bowl for the price I paid with not much taste in it. The vegetable biriyani that I ordered was cooked with frozen mixed vegetables (corn, beans, carrots and peas) and tasted horrible. If I am going to a restaurant, I would definitely expect quality vegetables to be used in my food. If the restaurant is going to offer food with frozen vegetables then they could as well take away the menu from the list. Why earn money like this? The price of each item was ridiculously high for the food they are offering. I never had a bad experience anywhere and it was a worst nightmare to me. I informed all my friends not to try this place as it is going to be a big disappointment. There are several nice Indian restaurants in Irving that could make justice to the price you pay or the best thing would be to cook homemade upma and save your taste-buds and $$$. Poor service. Total rip off!!

Fantastic addition to Southlake dining! No plans so we thought wed try the new Indian restaurant on a Thursday evening. Friendly greeting and pleasantly surprised by how nice the decor was considering it was a sports bar previously. Very comfortable and white table cloth nice yet casual.. our waitress was phenomenal. Indian is always a challenge for us to order. She suggested starting w sizzling tandoori sampler to start. Best tandoori chicken Ive ever had my wife loved the lamb. We had a chicken w almond and cashew sauce as well as the shrimp coconut curry with saffron rice. We literally couldnt decide which we liked better. Amazing! The garlic naan delicious. No room to try dessert because the portions are so large. Only complaint wast the cocktail list was a tad boring. We are so excited about this restaurant- you must try and bring your friends!! You wont go wrong as this new addition to Southlake fare.

Tried this restaurant on March 25th and cannot recommend it. The butter chicken was without much flavor. The rice was cold and clumped together. They were out of most of their Naans. They offered a garlic and plain and roti. We ordered the garlic and Plain. It was dry and not layered. In addition, the bottom was burnt. It was our waitresses first day and so we tried to make things easy for her. However, she was just lazy. Didnt know anything and wasnt too interested in trying to find out. One of the hostesses came over because the waitress forgot our appetizer and she said shed take care of us. That was the last we saw of her. They messed up our order and brought the wrong dish for one of us. Terrible service - poor food. We wont be back!

As a Southlake resident, I was really looking forward to a good Indian restaurant in Southlake. Unfortunately this one disappoints. $16.50 for a weekend buffet is outrageous for the number of dishes served. This is so much more expensive than any of the other Indian restaurants. Makes me wonder if theyve inflated the price because of the Southlake address? Atleast if the food is delicious I could overlook it, but unfortunately that is not the case. It is average at best. Looks like I will continue to make the 15 minute drive to Irving for my Indian food fix. There are many restaurants there that are cheaper, there is more variety, and the food is considerably better.

Disgusting!!!!! Went to the weekend lunch buffet, there was a small selection. The curry was watered down and tastless. It was very overpriced! My 5 year old had 1/2 a desert bowl full of rice because they cant even be bothered to have a tika masala at the buffet, and was charged $10.50, it was 2 adults and a child at a lunch buffet $70 later we were left very un satisfied. I was looking forward to having an Indian restaurant so close, however we will just make the drive to irving. Awful lowgrade watered down food! Very disappointed, cant believe they have the audacity to call that indian food! Didnt even want to give them one star!!!!!

Terrible terrible service! Please fire the Manager, he was very rude to us, he does not have the right attitude to run a restaurant. When we went this weekend, He was in a great hurry to close the food service and had the audacity to come to our table and said rudely that next time you want to come to this restaurant, come by 2pm. Seriously!! Do you ever think I am going to step into your restaurant again!! Though your food is average, you can always change your food quality and menu, but you cannot change someones attitude. Hire at least a good staff for the price that you charge customers. I am definitely not going back.

I am not sure why this place got so many 1 stars. We just ate dinner there, our first time at Indian food and had a wonderful time. We had a yellow curry shrimp, a red curry chicken, some great eggplant (spicy!) and this wonderful saffron rice with cashews and raisins. Family of four and we paid $90 including a 20% tip and we also had a small appetizer and shared a dessert. Manager came over to find out how our meal was, and service was great, water glasses never emptied, and plates were taken promptly. We will definitely be back (especially for that yellow curry shrimp, holy moly that was excellent!)

My experience was pleasant and not as terrible as other reviews have posted. Yes, there could be more variety. But what they did have was tasty. The lack of choices makes the price feel even more expensive. We went during weekday lunch time which may explain why there were not many varieties. The service was friendly and helpful. They came by often to check on our group of 10. The place and utensils were clean. I liked the ambiance; the decorations, music and large area. Overall, I would come back and hope they stay in business. Theres not many other Indian choices in this area.

I love the original location, but Southlake is now my favorite! I took a client there for lunch whose husband is from India and Ive spent quite a bit of time there myself--so we are both self-declared Indian food critics. It didnt disappoint--everything was delicious! And it was fun to see the transformation of the former sports bar into an elegant restaurant. The young manager is the owners son, and quite impressive his commitment to the family business that began with his grandfather decades ago. Well done Mughlai--and welcome to Southlake!
