EDIT: I went there recently got veg munchurian an aloo ghobi and got so sick I got vertigo and nauseau. I thought maybe it was something else I ate so I laid down to heal and got up again and ate the leftovers. I got sick all over again. I did like them in the past but I dont know what that was. The onion and spinach pakoras are crisp and delightful. They come in various shapes and are pressed and squeezed by hand giving each its own form. They tasted full and crisp and delicious. I thought they were a little too spicy but that can be changed with a request. My friend got the Paneer Tikka Masala. Unbelievable flavor. Thick, rich sauce with form cheese cubs perfectly seasoned with onion and other spices. The dish itself is worthy of 5 stars. The garlic naan was crisp on the bottom yet pleasantly chewy on the top. There was actual garlic on the naan which in addition to the oil and cilantro gave the naan a true garlic flavor. Probably the best Naan Ive had anywhere in the valley. The mango lassi was nice but very, very thick. Still well flavored but so thick it took effort to slurp it up the straw. It could probably afford to be a little runnier. The Fish Curry which was my entree, was not the best. The tomato base was not flavorful, the fish tasted like it was thrown into the sauce or of a bag without seasoning or preparation and I couldnt taste any curry. After the meal I spoke to the chef and staff and complimented them on the meal but mentioned the fish curry needing to be sauteed on onion before preparing the base. Great, friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely visit again.

Looks like the success has already got into their heads and started taking customers out for a ride. Myself and my wife went to the restaurant last weekend and we were asked to wait for few minutes to be seated. After few minutes, we were given a booth and given the Menus. To begin with, a lady came over but immediately some guy intervened and said he will take the orders. She obliged to him and left. The guy took our orders and left. After about 10 minutes, another guy comes and asks if we need to order and I said we already ordered. After exactly about another 10 minutes, a waitress comes and asks if we have already ordered and I said YES. We waited for about 30 minutes and still no signs of our food. Then all of a sudden, another waitress comes over and says we havent ordered since our orders are not in the computer. I just got furious because we were sitting there almost 35 minutes and didnt want to spend extra minute because who knows if we will ever be served. I just left and the guy who took our order to begin with was at the reception and I said what happened to my order, he said just wait for a minute. I could not take it anymore and we just left. There were no signs of apologies or nothing. I guess this is what happens when success gets to your heads. Dont worry I would rather drive to New Jersey and spend my money wisely and with respect.

Very very poor service. Which was unfortunate because we enjoyed the food. It took us over an hour to receive the food we ordered. It was unclear who our server was. We did not receive rice for one of our dishes. We did not receive a second drink when requested. A server spilled a dish on the table and didnt apologize (another server did apologize however). We had to ask for to-go containers 3 times. We had to ask for the check 4 times. We ended up going to the cashier to pay because they didnt come back to the table. The servers were not friendly or engaged with us when waiting on us. It was freezing in there! So bring a sweater. The meal took us close to 2 hours and 50 minutes. It shouldnt have taken more than 1 hour and 30 minutes if the service was appropriate. My solution : TRAIN YOUR SERVERS TO GIVE EVERYONE GOOD SERVICE. Hell, even mediocre service would be an improvement. I will not recommend this establishment to others.

We were on our way back from a trip from hershey chocolate world to nj. We were hungry and thought of exploring good indian restaurants on our way back home. Thanks to google maps, we checked on the rating of indian restaurant enroute home and decided to try this one. Without a doubt, this was one of the best biriyani places i have been to (south indian cuisine). I would highly recommend Chicken sukka for starters.. The chicken biriyani we had was probably the best we tried in US so far. The basmati rice had the perfect blend of spice and aroma. The chicken pieces in the biriyani were tender and delicious. Veg biriyani was good too. I would also recommend the combination of butter naan with chicken curry. The ambience was good too. The staff were friendly and hardworking. These guys will go a long way. Good luck to them.

I tired out this place on Sunday (1/31/2016). The place was previously known as spice India and now they have reopened it (With different owners and with a different name). The Biryani I had here was amazing. It does give the authentic taste that you get in India. The place not just has Biryani but it also has a variety of Indian & Indo-Chineese options. They also serve a variety of both North & South Indian food. Whatever I tasted, was really good here. I went to this place with my cousins and all of them loved it the same way as I did. The ambiance was also very pleasing. I would say that this is the best Indian cuisine in town right now. We tried the following: Veg biriyani Chilly Panner Gobi 65 Garlic, butter Naans Kerala Parota Paneer Butter Masala. Mango lassi & Rose Milk.

I ordered the Biryani goat, hot American in spice and my friend ordered the curried chicken low heat American. The spices in my biryani were delicate and powerful at the same time. 2 sauces, yoghurt and peanut, accompanied the biryani, which my friend dove into the yoghurt after trying my dish. The peanut sauce tasted of fresh ground peanuts. Biryani spices lingered in mouth for 10 minutes, providing an aroma bonus that was very pleasant. When our server offered dessert, he gently suggested I at least try the coffee. The coffee was full bodied yet had a light espresso foam quality on top and flavor that defied description, except that I want it again. My friend was very pleased with her chicken. Services was very good. I will return with more friends.

We went to this restaurant to taste Biryani and Biryani is out of this world. If you want Authentic Indian food this is the place to go. We have tried Panner Thikka Masala, Chicken 65, Chicken Tandoori and all of them were good. We went with friends and no one was disappointed. As there is some waiting time and they told us that everything was made to order and we were expecting that. This place is very welcoming and owner was very nice and he was checking us to make sure everything came out as expected. Now a days customer satisfaction was missing in businesses and after going to this restaurant I felt that still business like Biryani City is taking care of their customers very well. If anyone is looking for good Indian food this is the place to go.
