Ok the bottom line is: Ambiance: Excellent Service: Excellent Food: Excellent Value: Excellent I stopped by Masala Bites for lunch today. The interior of the restaurant was very well done and classy, which initially made me a little worried, thinking maybe they had chosen style over substance. This concern was quickly alleviated. The Host and server were both very friendly and helpful. I was seated immediately and water was brought over. If you are looking for an Indian buffet, this place is not it. The lunch menu offers either À la carte or a combination including a starter (soup, salad, appetizer) and a meal. I ordered the chaat of the day which is a kind of Indian street food. Today it was garlic grilled chicken and it was very good. For the main course I ordered chicken vindaloo at a hot spice level. The meal comes with naan and while there is no garlic naan on the menu they will get it for you if you want it. The chicken vindaloo was delicious, nice and spicy with a great taste. The naan was also excellent. The total price for the meal not including drink was $10. I cant say enough good things about this restaurant! I will definitely be back.

This is fine dining Indian restaurant with very nice ambience and professional staff. You can read and follow this review only if you are health conscious. Food - the food was excellent but something is not right about it. It makes you feel heavy and bloated a whole day , either it is extremely fatty or some additives that are not good for you. I did not expect a complete healthy food but do not like something that is extremely unhealthy. Service - professional staff to greet you and offer seat. The fairy tale ends there. The fine dining concept did not flow right as it takes lot of time between two courses. End of it, we had wrong bill , got typical answer that I expect at any other neighborhood Indian place. I do not expect fine dining place to handle the problem the way this place handled. Service can be one time accident so I will not hold against them. The food is good but if you are health conscious I will not suggest this place.

A lot of flare with little substance, essentially. When an Indian restaurant brings out a mango lassi as thin as the ones served here, one can only assume that the rest of the meal will be subpar at best. I had a shrimp based appetizer that was pretty solid but the main course of lamb wasnt as tasty as I thought it would be; and, for the price, the portions were pretty lackluster. When you order theyll ask how spicy youd like your food to be. Unless youre in the "ketchup is too spicy" category, youre going to experience next to no spiciness in your food. Not really a big factor for me, but I do enjoy some genuinely spicy food. I believe its scaled from 1-5; I picked 4 just in case. I doubt 5 wouldve been a worlds difference in spiciness. The waitress was pretty attentive and I truly do admire the decor in the restaurant. I just wish they spent as much money on their ingredients as they did making the place look as lavish as it does.

This place is really good Indian food, at a slightly higher price point than Im used to. The food ranged from good to outstanding. We ordered three appetizers and three entrees. The best appetizer we had was the chilli-milli shrimp. A spicy glaze with peppers and shrimp. Really great. The lamb with ginger and mango appetizer wasnt very good. All three entrees were amazing. We got the seafood curry (kerbala?). We ordered the punjabi style chicken, and the lamb with yogurt, cilantro, and star anise. The lamb was everyones favorite. I dont usually like yogurt dishes or star anise, but this dish was so tender and flavorful. This place is definitely worth checking out if you are in the mood for Indian food.

We went in group of 8 .Took two tables as adjusting all at one place was difficult as it was not prebooked . We ordered Chiken makhni, dhaba handi Chiken ,amiratshari khulcha and mango ice cream .You know what all were mouth watering. On other table my friends additionally ordered some starters as well and I came to know those were awesome too. My Verdict is if you are Virginia Beach and you love food ....cant miss this Hope they continue serving good Indian food.

Great ambiance and customer service. Food is horrible and no authenticity. Owner/manager Bobby has an attitude issue and no customer interaction skills, he has been so rude with us. Im being an Indian i can eat real hot food but the food was made so hot no one in the world can eat that food, literally my friends and I got tears. Biryani was just a mix of curry and rice and chillI powder was sprinkled on all the food. Most funny part is broccoli in Indian food; )

Even if you try you cant have a bad experience. The last 2 times I was there they havent had their goat dish which forced me to try 2 lamb dishes that were so good that all you could think about was the food you were eating. Flavors and tenderness of the meat just flowed together like an orchestra on a summer night. The service always excellent and professional! If you havent tried it, you are missing out on a little bit of heaven with Masala Bites.

Masala Bites is a modern, classy and an authentic North Indian restaurant. The food is amazing, its good quality, authentic and all around delicious. Also, the food was hot and fresh (the hot naan was our favorite, and we reordered it!) The service was equally great; our servers were efficient and cheerful, our food also came fast. The price was good for the quality and portions. We recommend Masala Bites strongly.

Fantastic food and great ambiance. A little pricey, but worth the money. They had a very knowledgeable waitstaff and quick service. The best in Virginia Beach. Their vindaloo is excellent. My only disappointment was with the malai kofta; they had only given us three pieces to share with my group (otherwise, it tasted excellent). You can choose what spice level you want (mild, medium, hot, and extra spicy).

Hands down the best Indian food around. The Naan was pillowy and cooked perfectly. Paneer pokoras were excellent. The Vindaloo Indian spicy was delicious. It was a real joy to find this Gem. The decor and atmosphere are top notch as well. If you like Ilford from the sub continent you my friend are in for a reasonably priced treat

Simply fantastic! If you like Indian food, you have to eat here! I have been to every Indian restaurant in Virginia Beach, this is without any doubt in my mind THE BEST! Great service, amazing food. There are 3 or 4 other Indian restaurants closer to my home but I will willingly drive the extra 30 minutes to get to Masala Bites.

Lunch time two course menu is really awesome. You can pick and chose a variety of great dishes. Service is very good and the food comes out very quickly. Evening meals are just as great. The menu has quite a wide variety. The rice and Naan bread are plentiful and delicious. A definite regular place for my wife and i.
