Ive eaten at this resturaunt before and had no problems - until yesterday. I have even left an excellent review before! Today, however, I had about half a lamb burger, a few bites of salad and hard cider that made my stomach queasy. I had drank only about two drinks from the cider and each sip just made my stomach turn. I was on the edge of my stomach and when we got our bill, I asked for a refund. I was not asking for my entire meal to be reimbursed - just the cider than I truly drank only two sips of. Although, i am not sure now if it was the beer or the burger i ate. The waitress was very nice, but owner (a lady by the name of Nancy) came up to our table and said in a very condescending rude tone "yes - Im listening". I was shocked at her tone, so I said Im sorry but Im not feeling well after drinking your cider. I was feeling just fine before I came in. Can I get a refund? She said "well, its not my fault you dont feel well. No one else has complained about that cider today". I was appalled! I said ok, well I barely drank it and each time I take a drink it makes my stomach turn. She said "well ill refund your money but theres nothing wrong with our cider". My mother was with me and witnessed it all. We are not rude people, so this whole experience was just very sad. I dont know why some business owners refuse to admit any wrong when it comes to food. Even a small joint like this should exersize a little kindness before writing off someone who had an issue. Ive never been spoken to so rudely after requesting a refund - she didnt even apologize to me. Im a business owner also and would never dream of treating a customer like that! They could be making people sick and obviously showing me that they dont really care if they do! I still feel sick after eating there - and probably wont be back after this! We looked today and noticed today they even charged my mother TWICE for our bill! These owners need a wake-up call and realize that a small kindness to their customers goes a lot further than the snide, rude and insensitive way I was treated today. It was like she didnt want to hear anything that even suggested that they may have made someone sick! I now say - buyer beware! Just NOT RIGHT! I left a review on Yelp as well. I just dont understand why the owner - instead of apologizing, would try to dismiss a customer complaint or try to falsify what actually happened to discredit it. Makes me question the integrity of the business and their ethics as well. I would highly question their health standards and all business practices at this point. Just not right how we were treated - I would never recommend a business whose owner treats their customers this way.

Stopped in for lunch during a 200 mile Motorcycle Poker run. Place looked pretty cool. Ordered the Hot Rod Burger, $11.95 Chili Cheese Fries, Diet Coke, and Mountain Dew I dont remember how much each of those where, total bill was $26 and change, $5 tip made it $31 and change. Burger was small, literally about 1/2 the size of the bun, it was under seasoned and very, very dry. Ketchup and Mustard on the table, no Mayo no special sauce.. Lettuce is hand leafed, nice tomato, and dill pickle slices all served on the tray, under the burger - no onion. Very Disappointing burger, even if it was sold at a more reasonable $5.95 price point. Chili Cheese Fries - Interesting the waiter asked if we wanted "Cheese and onion" on them. Shaking my head in a confusing manner, I questioned him, "Chili CHEESE Fries" dont they come with Cheese? His reply was not normally. Wow, OK. Yes, Please both Cheese and Onion. When delivered I was surprised by the volume - a HUGE basket of Fries which were way over done, maybe intentionally so that they wouldnt be soggy from the 2 or 3 table spoons of chili, about 20% of what a reasonable person would think was necessary to be called Chili Cheese Fries, volume of cheese was about 75% correct, onion - that was crazy, ridiculous, seriously way too big of slices. Honestly, they took a couple disks (lack of a better example of when you cut an onion in to slices to put them on a hamburger with all the rings intact. It looks like they took one, well maybe two, of those disks and cut it in to 4 like a pizza, seriously the onion slices ranged from 3/4" to 1" semi arcs, stupid big and no way that any of them would stay on a french fry if you found a fry with enough chili on it that "might, just might be able to hold some cheese and possibly a little onion. Huge Disappointment. Things got better, because we boxed up the Fries and brought them home, poured a can of chili on them, heated them in the over and had a snack while watching a movie on TV. They were so over cooked the first time, that even after 4-hours and a whole can of chili poured on top, they were still a little "crisp." This was my first time to visit, the Cruise in Country Diner - it will likely be the only time... and Perhaps it was just a "bad day." I did notice a sign near the register that read 339,480 burgers sold since March-09. Obviously, you dont sell that many burgers unless you are doing something right. Saturday, my meal was not right, not even close - and lets not forget, even if the meal was great, it was still WAY TOO Expensive.

I read a small blurb about this rural treasure in a tourist magazine and had to check it out. I was not disappointed. It was well worth the drive from Beaverton. They have a pretty standard, 50s style diner menu. Lots of burger options. I had the Mustang Burder (swiss & mushrooms, plus jalapenos) and it was awesome. The burger is not huge, but it was not greasy and was cooked beautifully. All the trimmings (lettuce, tomato and pickles) come on the side so you can construct as you like. It really was just the right size. I was full, but not miserably so like after eating Red Robin or similar. The diner itself is just a small building on the side of the road. But, you walk into a pleasant, clean, friendly atmosphere with tons of 50s and 60s memorabilia throughout. The place was very busy. I just sat down at the bar and was promptly greeted. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the greatest treats was just finding the place. It was a little later in the evening with only a few clouds. Beautiful countrysides with the sun setting behind the foothills in the distance. After such a great meal, I just sat on the hood of the car, smoked a cigarette and absorbed it all in. It was probably the most peaceful and enjoyable few moments I have had in the 6 months Ive been here. In any case, I see this place becoming a weekly treat to myself.

When we arrived, one of the tables was covered in dirty dishes. It appeared as if the staff has been bussing dirty dishes to that particular table instead of the back of the restaurant for several hours. We sat down at the only available table large enough to accommodate our group (next to the table full of dirty dishes) and my foot kept sticking to the floor because it had some sticky residue on it. It took 45 minutes after we ordered to get our food, even though the restaurant was less than half full. I ordered chili. It came with onions in a small plastic cup on the side. Inside, I found a dirty magnetic pushpin. Since nobody came to check on our food, I had to go find a server and complain. The server came out and my daughter asked for a refill on her milk. The owner brought out our replacement chili (she had a name tag idenifying her as the "owner"), but we had to ask at least once more for the milk refill. Since the owner came out, I assumed shed also apologize. She didnt. The chili is not locally sourced. At some point, they showed me the nutrition information, which indicated the Chili was manufactured by a large restaurant supply company. The ambience is just okay.
