Food was the best part of the stop. We did run into an situation we ordered a meal for everyone at the table and we were shorted one meal. When we brought to attention to staff the noted they wrote a 3 that was questionable as a two and they made a mistake. Generally if the establishment recognizes they made an error they would comp or offer a discount. We asked for a plate and split meals in order to feed everyone it took over 15 min for us to get the missing meal and everyone had completed their meals by the time it was recieved the missing meal. The fish and chips were delicious witch were beer batter hand dipped. Diffentley worth the stop to get eveneley golden brown fried fish sticks. French fries were crisp and all food was delievered hot. Their is several waiter(ieses) and they were attentive to our table. Establishment needs to do a little training on appropriate ways to handle issues or error. We would stop again.

This place is good for locals and visitors as well. This is a small town diner with good basics, great swedish pancakes and nice specials. A simple remodel has spruced the place up a bit and new chefs have brought in some great new ideas. Reasonably priced - with local specials and a super friendly staff. Some things are great - like the French dip (add swiss and onions w/horseradish) and the ahi tuna salad. Stay far away from the turkey melt though.

Ive eaten at the River Grill many times, as I live in Guerneville. Hey, it isnt San Francisco (where I used to live), but its far above what might be expected in a small town. The food is good and plentiful, the prices reasonable, and Ive always found the servers to be friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Stopped for lunch< ordered pork sandwich. Gray haired waiter ignored us, made us wait an hour for meal, then served cold. Final insult he ignored us when we tried to hand him our credit card for payment. Does he hate families???? Does he hate Boy Scouts? (My son had a neckerchief.) I would never return.

We stopped here for lunch while on a road trip from San Diego. I had the roast beef au jus french dip sandwhich which was very tasty. Everyone else in our group was pleased with their food as well. If you are rolling through this small town and are craving some diner food, give this place a try.

Staff were very unfriendly. The portion size was very small for the price. The chicken fried steak was a preformed frozen mush concoction. The pancakes were very small.
