Umaya, Umaya, gonna set this place on Fi-ya! Umaya Ramen opened up not too long ago & I have been telling myself to stop by. Weathers overcast? Kinda cool? Sounds like ramen weather to me! Umaya Ramen is located in Cerritos Landmark Square, next to Ajito & The Hair Whisperer. Quite convenient for me since I live within walking distance. The only other restaurant serving ramen in the area, that I know of, is Geko Tei across the street. Umaya fills a lacking niche for myself & fellow gastronomes. Dooncha, dooncha, dooncha.... Music is on blast, with modern decor welcoming diners. I sat at the bar on a wooden stool. I thought my arse wouldve been uncomfortable, but turns out, my derriere has enough padding already ;p Speaking of music, there was an eclectic mix playing today. The usual high-tempo, dance pop music was heard, but followed by Michael Buble/Henry Connick Jr. Totally rad! The waitstaff were friendly, informative and helped me decide what to order. My choice, miso ramen w/ regular noodles- Pretty good! Your choice of noodles - thin or regular. My regular noodles were al dente, with definite bite to them. The broth was flavorful, but not thick. Portion size was agreeable, too. Protip - Why spend an extra dollar for spicy miso, when you can add a boatload of chili powder & oil? I added a lot to make my ramen just the way I wanted it. Chili is good for you. Its anti-inflammatory & it makes me a better lover. Even when Im by myself :( Besides my boyish charm & my rugged good looks, Im also quite the spendthrift. So, lo and behold, when I was told Umaya Ramen is having a 10% off lunch promo for the month of June, I almost screamed like a schoolgirl at a One Direction concert. Saving money w/o even trying, oh yeah baby! Bottom line-Ill be back! I highly recommend stopping by Umaya Ramen the next time youre jonesing for some ramen surrounded by a chill, hip vibe.

My friend and I stopped by for lunch, were pleasantly surprised by the flavor in all the food. Definitely would come back. She ordered a seaweed salad, the seasoned fries and spicy wings. I tasted the salad and fries, the dressing for the salad was amazing, as well as the sauces that came with the fries. I had the short ribs with rice and cabbage. Was very tasty and had leftovers to take home. Was pleasantly surprised to see fried Oreos on the dessert menu. We went for it, they were 4 per order and absolutely delectable. First time for me, at a ramen spot of all places. Oh and they had bottomless mimosas for $12. Always a plus.

I remember looking for a great ramen spot in Cerritos and having difficulty deciding between which one to eat at because there were literally two right next to each other.I am glad I picked this place. The ramen is just amazing on a cold night and I usually get extra spicy with the extra noodles on the side. They have other options beside ramen like their pork kakuni bowl but its not as good and kinda bland. Id rather stick with the ramen. Tonkatsu black is the way to go ladies and gentlemen:) Oh yeah they also have this side room thats basically a bar and lounge type of deal! great place to chill and eat with friends.

Went there on a friday night... Pretty occupied as usual, and noticed that they ran out of chicken, meaning no chicken broth, etc. which was rather poor for a busy night like a friday night. I ended up ordering the seafood ramen. The broth was bland, let alone the small kick from the chili oil they put in. Noodles were plain, probably precooked. I could tell they were probably running out of seafood because I only had three shrimp and a couple tiny bits of scallop in there. Overall, not amazing, nothing close to the quality of shisens ramen.

Food is always so good. If you and your significant other go, you can sumo size your bowl for only 4 extra dollars, which doubles the portions of everything. The food is always delicious, and you can sit at the ramen bar and watch them make your food. Theres also a lounge area in the back with super comfortable couches to sit in, great for big groups. Always lots of 20 somethings drinking together, and everyone from staff to customer always seem welcoming.

Noticed that their post on google say they close at 11:30, but yelp says at 11:00. Showed up at 9:45, it looked like a slow day, not many customers... When we walked into the door, they told us it was closed and when we asked why when their sign says 11, they fumbled for an excuse and came up with "Flies"..."we had a fly problem" but had an A health rating? Good improvisation...dont want the business? Youre not getting it!

I went there and had the bone broth soup, paid extra for extra broth but the broth failed the authenticity test. Overnight in the refrigerator it did not thicken and gel over as real bone broth does. It must be nothing more than unsweetened soy base with pork flavor. I paid 20 bucks all together for the soup and the side of the fried chicken bites. Their website specifically said boiled bone broth was used in their soup.

Wow! After reading the other review, i could not agree more that they dont want youre business. We came in and ordered. Half an hour later, we asked why it is taking so long. Waiter said "the order didnt print out. Sorry bout that". We were so pissed and left. That wasted our time and caused us to not find anything open! So frustrating! And cooks were eating while working! So unprofessional

A decent Ramen joint by the Los Cerritos Center. It was slightly tucked away in a little shopping area, and was cramped but clean inside. The staff was all attentive and sweet, but the Ramen was only okay. It wasnt the best Ive had, and theres certainly much better options throughout the Los Angeles area. Still, a great option when in Los Cerritos and craving ramen!

Ramen is decent and filling. 3.5/5 Chicken karage was very good. Hot & crispy! Good seasoning. 4/5 Gyoza was crispy and hot. 3.75/5 Fried Oreo & ice cream was delicious! Hot & yummy battered oreos + ice cream = 5/5 (hit the spot) 16.25/20=81%= B spot to eat & chili Service was great.

Probably closer to 3.5. Noodles have great texture and egg is perfect but this place skimps on broth and they need to replace their water filter. Way too much of a chlorine smell in their water and returned a iced green tea because it tasted of funny.

Not a traditional ramen place. The focus isnt really on ramen, it didnt taste as authentic, and portions were small. However, it satisfies the craving when you dont want to drive too far. They also have really cheap Sapporo draft.

The ramen is very good and they also have a full bar. While the service is generally quite good, their servers seem to be overwhelmed when they are busy. They should try to hire more waiters so that it is a constant good service.

Overall, there was nothing wrong or terrible about this place. The Ramen was decent, the atmosphere also decent... I just give it a three star because there was nothing special or amazing about this place.
