Initially we waited for a hostess, us being a party of four. She sat a group of 7 before seating us despite the fact that we were first. She then ignored us and finally she sat us at a booth,l. Exceedingly aloof and not a great representation of the restaurant. We were greeted by a cheerful and helpful young man who formerly worked st Cheesecake Factory. The service we got from him was superb! One guest ordered a Chardonnay and another ordered Merlot. The chardonnay arrived and then another to which we pointed out thats not what was requested. Our helpful server returned and apologized, bewildered why they brought that because he had not even placed the order from the bar for additional wine let alone the merlot. Our appetizers came out quickly but the entree took quite a bit of time. Two of us had the famous lasagna bolognese and its famous indeed because we both were severly ill with food poisoning! We are avid diners and one of us has managed restaurants in particular kitchens and never has that happened under their watch. This unfortunately utterly ruined our experience with You all and quite honestly a thorough health inspection should be given internally and by local health and safety Dept. Recap areas of immediate improvement: 1. Food safety 2. Hostess - poor communication and etiquette 3. Staff awareness / bar -pouring product before its ordered is a waste and deters from customer experience Not one to complain but these issues would not bother us but being that they compounded this is not acceptable. Please fix this, and our waiter was SUPERB!

Updating my review as weve been here a few times over the past year. We happened upon Olazzo one night, fully expecting to be disappointed. We even walked past it several times trying to avoid it, but its neighbors didnt look any better. Everything was delicious — wine selection is great, pastas are tasty, mains are well executed. We liked it so much we went back the next week with a party of ten, all of whom were delighted. Since then weve been back a few times and each time has been decent, but not terrific. Pastas are a bit overdone, service painfully slow. Its very popular, which may explain the hit or miss experience. Worth a shot but no longer fantastic.

The food is always great here, just wish there were more drink specials so when friends and i get a drink with our food, it doesnt run into the $30+ great decor since they did the changes over a year ago. So they can accommodate more people. Think they only had one server working the entire section because once we got our bread, oil and vinegar we didnt see her again until much much later. We ended up asking the busser to bring us more bread. But the bread is always great! Hence the 2nd helping ;) i always recommend other this place to my other friends and they say they love it as well.

I met my two best friends there for dinner and drinks. The wait staff was exceptional. They were attentive and didnt get exasperated when we werent sure what to order the first three times they came around. The food was amazing. I had the Chicken Cardinale, which is a chicken penne pasta dish with a vodka cream sauce and sun-dried tomatoes. I loved the ambiance. Very rustic, warm, and tuscanish (yes, I made up a word). I would definitely go there again. Great for any type of engagement and group.

I work across the street and I order lunch to go from Olazzo every now and then. I also take staff members to lunch there. One day I ordered the mango salmon salad and upon taking it back to my office I noticed that the salmon was uncooked. I quickly called them and spoke to the manager who offered to deliver a new salad to my office. He also offered me dessert. I was amazed by the great service and although disappointed at first, I was happy because of the great service!

I was in on a business trip to Bethesda without a car and had to find a restaurant near my hotel. I ended up finding Olazzo and could not have been happier. Good wine (a Cabernet from Chile), great food (Checca with shrimp), good service, very reasonable price ($20 for wine, salad, and pasta entree). The inside was a bit loud for me, as I was by myself, so I sat outside. Pretty busy for a Monday night and now I know why!

I just recently tried Olazzo and absolutely loved it. We had a party of 4 on a Friday night and they did a great job of accommodating us with outside seating. I had the Seafood pasta special, which can taste horrible if not done right. However, Olazzo did a great job! The seafood was fresh and the pasta tasted delicious. I would definitely recommend this location to others.

Went here for mothers day. I called ahead, they werent taking reservations. They estimated the wait would be 30-40 minutes. Not bad considering it was mothers day. Once I got there 35 minutes later, there was no wait at all! I was seated immediately. It was my second time visiting. Great food, good price and great service. Will definitely be coming back for a 3rd time.

Oh man this place is the best. I went there last night on a date and ate the Meatball and spaghetti. It was phenomenal would definitely recommend to others. I love how clean and courteous the staff was. But what really impressed me was the cannoli. The ricotta cheese was so flavorful. if you are in town and want to eat authentic italian food go to Lazzo.

Excellent food and atmosphere! The folks at Olazzo really go out of their way to make you feel at home and comfortable. The food and wine are excellent and reasonably priced, so you dont have to take out a second mortgage just to take your family to dinner. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. You wont regret it!

Small intimate setting. Tables are very close, not good for large people or claustrophobic people. Noise level was high. Neither male in our party could hear our dinner table conversation, so we just ate. The food was fresh and ecxellent. No ambiance, loud crazy party music, but great food and good value.

Amazing food with very generous servings. The seating and tables are a little compact, but the food is absolutely fantastic. Everything was well seasoned and very flavorful without feeling too butter/oil/cream heavy-- everything was fresh and expertly made. Highly recommend, I will be revisiting soon!

This place is a nice little restaurant that felt cozy and has that old town feel. The food was great and the service is great. I discovered this place online, and Im glad I did. Its just good Italian food! It was clearly busy and loud because its a great place. Ill be going back when Im in the area.

The food is outstanding, the staff is outstanding. I was hooked since my first visit and go back at least every two weeks. Its hard for me to find good Italian food, because growing up there was no better cook then my Italian mother. However, this place takes the cake. Its wonderful!

Went today for lunch al fresco. Food was delicious, service was good, whole experience was delightful! I had the salmon salad with mango relish and my companion had a sandwich of mozzarella, tomato and proscuitto on warm French bread. Couldnt have been any nicer.
