Unbelievable reading the other reviews. The service was indifferent, harried, and completely unwelcoming. Every single food item served to me, tasted like the most undoctored, right off the Sysco truck garbage. From commercial eggs, to wonder bread sourdough. No presentation, no distinct flavor apart from a mound of brown sugar dumped on mashed sweet potatoes as the only apparent spice. Truly astonished at the glowing reviews. Does Santa Rosa put LSD in the public water?, How is this place good???

Really good food, good portions, and very affordable. Quick, friendly service. Our server Kristina was very pleasant, sweet, and attentive. Had the chicken parm with garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, and salad. Chicken parm was very tender and tasty. Garlic mash was homestyle and good. Not usually keen on steamed veggies but these were seasoned well, not mushy, and tasted fantastic. Mom would be proud, I ate them all

Loved this restaurant. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and in general wonderful. The food was DELICIOUS! It was so good the first time earlier in the week, we made it a point to stop there AGAIN on the way home from our vacation week. And YES it was just as good again. So if you are in the Santa Rosa area give it a try. Its on the corner of Piner Road and Piner Place.

If you can get a seat, youre in for a treat. Piner Cafe is slammed on the weekends and for good reason: the food and the portions are stellar for the price. Their specials change from week to week and the atmosphere is always cozy. My girlfriend and I love eating here when they can squeeze us in. Comparable in pricing and quality to Black Bear Diner.

My wife and I tried coming once before and the line was put the door. We chose to not wait. Well today we got right in. No disappointments at all. We were immediately greeted. The service was fast and friendly. And the food was a generous portion and so yummy. The eggs Benedict is delicious. We will be back every time we come to town.

Grest service, great food! Tiny little place was packed! So yes of course we had to wait for a table , didnt seem long at all before we had our spit outside. Everything was wonderful! Unfortunatley no alcoholic beverages are allowed if you choose to est outside, but that seems to be this cafes only downfall...... Happy times!!!

We wont be going back to this neighborhood diner Too many flies inside the restaurant, and the waitress started vacuuming around our table while we were eating - and we were there in the middle of the day, made no sense, there wasnt a spill or any special reason to do the vacuuming while people are eating.

Food is delicious here! Prices have gone up a bit recently it seems, but the friendly waitresses and awesome food more than make up for it. Parking can be a bit of a pain, and cell service (Sprint) is nonexistent, but that works for my family as we generally have a good time talking and catching up.

My favorite thing to order for breakfast is grits and eggs. Not many west coast cafes have them on their menus. But what KEEPS me coming back is the excellently prepared food, the fact that my coffee cup is never empty, plus the fast, friendly, and efficient wait staff brighten my day!

Great service even on this busy Fathers Day. Good was plentiful, hot and delicious. We had the special eggs Benedict with country potatoes and an omelette with grilled onions, avacado and tomatoes. Great place for great home style food. Not fancy but very friendly.

Great prices, tasty food, huge portions! My only request is that they update the decor (new flooring, table coverings, paint, etc). It is a little dated. And the waiting area is uncomofrtable. But ill definitely be back! Great find for a santa rosa breakfast joint!

What a find! Local diner in old building is much better than it appears from the outside. We stopped for breakfast and I had the Chicken Fried Steak and my wife had the Stuffed French Toast off the specials menu. Both were excellent. Well definitely be back.

This place is a gem. While staying in Santa Rosa for a week, we ate here for breakfast and were very satisfied. The prices were extremely reasonable (for Cali) and the food was fresh and tasty. From one tourist to the next, I would highly suggest eating here.

Large portions of classic Americana. Wide selection of choices on the menu, reasonable prices, and a "down home" feel. I thoroughly enjoyed the eating here. My girlfriend and I stopped by for dinner and then breakfast a few days later. Both meals were great!

Service was friendly. Food was ok. It took a while for the food to come out. I had a Veggie burrito and was pleased that there were black beans and broccoli inside. Atmosphere is lacking. I think I would try a different place in the area rather than return.

Great food and friendly staff. Their pricing is on point. It blows away the Cafe competition. I used to work near the restaurant and go as often as possible. Too bad they dont open up more Cafés. They would give Black Bear a run for their money.

A nice homey diner; lots of locals come through. Good food and very friendly service. Very big portions - none of us finished our breakfast! You might miss it as the entrance and parking is not on the main street but rather a side street.

Not happy with this place lately. Food is going downhill. Also in there the other day and a waitress climbed on a chair then on the table to change a light bulb and DID NOT CLEAN THE TABLE. Disgusting your shoe are the dirtiest.

Had to wait an hour when the waitress said thirty min wait, we were hungry..good food, prices are too high, had to pay .50 cents for an extra plate because my food was falling off my plate, not very good customer service

I come here at least once a week. The crew treats me great. Its a real local community place with good folks and good food. Does anything go better with coffee at Piner Cafe than a slice of cherry pie? Probably not.

As a Brit road tripping California, Piner Cafe proved to be a much needed pitstop. Welcoming service from the second you open the door to when you pay your bill. Attentive, cheerful waiting staff and excellent food.

Hit or miss. Good breakfast, good food but sometimes so busy that the quality suffers. Seems understaffed sometimes. And is priced on the high end for the type of food they serve. But all in all a good local cafe.

Yum, yum, yum! This is great for breakfast and lunch. It is worth the money for a local sit-down restaurant. Just be careful about visiting on a Sunday, when they close at 2. Other than that, enjoy your meal.

Loved the decor, the service was great and the food is real, nothing commercial about it. The food tastes great! Their blueberry pie is just on point, not too sweet. The prime rib is cooked to perfection

As always the breakfast here is top notch! I will continue to be a customer and sing their praises. The only thing that I would change is the photocopied hand written menu addendum. Its hard to read.

Prime Rib night; incredible cut for the money, perfectly cooked. The veggies where actually al dente and seasoned so well you wanted to eat them. With cheesy polenta, what a great deal at $18.95.
