Today at 1pm my husband and I had lunch here. Out of the 10+ times we've been here 1/2 has been good and 1/2 has been bad. I don't usually write reviews but I was very upset with todays experience.
1. They forgot my husbands steak so he ended up eating 15 minutes after everyone else. He got white riceso by the time he got the meat the rice was cold and hard.
2. Everyone at the table had to ask for refills and get our own boxese along with boxing the meals up ourselves.
When I spoke to the manager he said that lunch is a lot busier which normally would bee true but we were the only table there! He asked what do I want him to do (after 5 minutes of arguing with me) so my reponse was to do whatever he felt would keep us as customers. My husband did not eat his meal. He came back and took 2.74 off our 30.00 meal and when I asked him was he sure this would keep us as customers he said this was all he could do. When I told him he would be losing our service he shrugged and put his hands up in the air as to say he didn't care.
My experience today was horrible. Any other restaurant would have immediately compensated no argument especially since the food hadn't been eaten. Dinner service is normally better.

April 01, 2016, 9:43 PM - The waiter failed at taking orders correctly and i was okay with it. Easy fix! However, when the Chef came out he didnt speak, he seemed Agitated, he made a smiley with cooking oil and begin rushing to cook our food, he wasnt entertaining, the food wasnt prepared correctly "no season, lemon, no butter except for our rice, he cooked the chicken and shrimp together and separated the two afterwards. My daughter is allergic shell fish! We never expect the chef to mix the two. I asked for my steak med-well and it was well done. The chef cooked food for my party of four and two take out orders within 13 minutes. Thereafter, the chef served the food and didnt divide the food equally, failed to give my child bean spouts, never offered egg yolk sauce; talked stuff the whole time.This guy was very disrespectful and out of line. We were so upset i never touched my food and we asked for to go boxes because we didnt want to sit there and eat. The waiter apologize repeatedly and the manager never acknowledge use. Upon leaving we could hear the chef talking stuff about us to coworkers. This guy completely ruined our family night out! Poor customer service and total waste of $80.00 im never going back!

My family and I come here quite often, but after todays expierence, we will be sticking to House of Japan. My 3 year old doesnt like the fire show, so to be respectful to the others at the table, I took him to the restroom. We were standing on the other side of the restaurant, waiting for the fire to be done, and the cook says "its okay, no fire here" I returned to the table and he says,"no fire for you kids, blame the cry baby" Again, my son is 3. He then says "you kids like smokey volcano? Sorry, its his fault, no volcano" I get that they joke around, but he just kept saying it, over and over. At that point I was very upset. I asked for the manager to come talk, and he defended him. He walked away to talk to the cook, and came back to defend him once again. As he was apologizing, the cook comes back out and says,"THANKS FOR COMPLAINING" REALLY??? My son is 3, and hes a grown man. I cant say that the food was bad, it was definetly still good, but the service was horrendous...

Everyone becomes the Grumpy Gourmet when they write a review and, being in the food service business, I find it hilarious. Not much meets satisfaction, ever. To quote my dearly departed Mom: "Its not the last Supper...lighten up." That being said, we love it here. Service is always prompt, food is fresh and perfectly cooked and management always welcomes us back. I have witnessed, on multiple occasions, people bringing in carryout food for their little people. As a mother of 5, I find this shocking. Make your kid try new things. If they wont, try to have all your meals at MacDs...The fact that this is seen as ok by people, blows me away. Way to raise entitled Jerks. If you were at my place, Id say No.

Good lunch prices, and great sauces (Yum-Yum, Salad Dressing, and Egg Yolk), Rarely have I been disapointed when eating lunch here. White rice is free and like a lot of places they do charge for fried rice, but it is SO much better! Feast for Two is great if you on a date or even with a friend. A lot of steak houses put on too much of a show, this place is about the FOOD! When taking clients out, this is frequent stop. Due to it being in a poor neighborhood, they dont do pick up orders anymore (too many no shows) unfortunate, wish it wasnt in the ghetto...

Food is great as long as your given time to eat it! There was no one else in the restaurant but they sure acted like someone needed my chair. Takeout boxes were served right as the meal was finished cooking. Our waitress stood in front of my husband with arms crossed as he was eating, waiting for him to give her the credit card. Our plates were practically taken out from under our forks. It was so uncomfortable, it was awful. We will definitely just go to Genjis from now on.

Bad Show. My steak and my wifes steak were rare even though we asked for it to be medium well. The chicken was pretty good overall. I had a groupon coupon that was only valid M-F, but I wasnt told when we entered. They wouldnt honor the coupon even though the restaurant only had 5 customers in it. Overall the soup was good and the chicken was good, but I had to ask for extra sauce several times. I think i will cash out my groupon rather then returning.

Absolutely the best Japanese Steakhouse in Ohio!!! The food is amazing and (according to wife) the yum yum sauce is addicting! You can call and get take out or set and enjoy the show as they make your food in front of you. Staff is wonderful and fun to be around. We take the whole family for their Birthdays and even just when we make it to Columbus.

The food was to salty .we asked for fried rice no eggs we did not get any refilles on our drinks .as soon as we walked in they shut the aircondition off .I never find any restaurants force the customers to pay tip for scrutiny one who like to eat there look at your receipt because %15 has been add it to the bill

The food is decent, but the service is horrible. I placed an order online, and I showed up to pick my order up. Apparently, they dont check their online orders. You have to call and tell them you placed one. If you have to place your order AND call, whats the point of the convience of ordering online?

Very good customer service, quick and readiness of preparation for food with very high quality skill by the chef. Food was prepared more than well along with some enjoyable entertainment. Would recommend to all the Yum Yum sauce, and definitely would go again.
