Talking with people around town (Falls Church) and reading online reviews, it seems you either like or dislike the service at Sfizi. (Paraphrasing Yoda in the movie Star Wars, "Like or dislike. There is no in-between.") I happen to like the service. My friends and neighbors and I tend to note the following: Atmosphere: The interior of Sfizi was lovingly planned. As a reviewer noted, the floor is ceramic tile which lends to a fairly noisy experience--but the tile, along with the wood and colors of paint, makes for a very warm, surprisingly classy place. Compare to the dining room at Pizzaria Orso, which uses similar warm colors. Food: Echoing reviewer Erik Anderson, my friends and neighbors and I have always been happy with the food and desserts. The desserts, in particular, are difficult to find elsewhere in Falls Church. Presentation: The food is prepped and served very stylishly, matching the dining room in terms of being elegant and classy... yet informal. Prices: Surprisingly good! The lunch menu lists a very nice variety of dishes in several pricing tiers as well as by food type. The least-expensive pricing tier is $8.95, going up to $11.95. The bang-for-buck here is very good. Service: During weekends the chief waiter is Guiseppe, assisted by busboy Haqim, who is Algerian. Harkening for a moment on "presentation," Haqim builds a masterful, beautiful salad. Guiseppe is very attentive, although diners usually say he does much better the more he gets to know his patrons and their individual eating choices and preferences. Ending on a somewhat odd note (I know), I would be remiss if I didnt mention that my friends and I all tend to note the beautiful restrooms. The mens restroom, as example, is beautifully tiled with matching furnishings. We all wish our restrooms at home had such beautiful tile work.

the wine is over priced and poorly kept. (their more expensive varietals are near the ceiling getting the heat from the kitchen? beg your pardon?) menu pricing misleading. took an hour to get something that looked like a gas station microwave chicken sandwich. i wasnt too sure why i paid $19 for it. the flavor was that also of a prepackaged chicken plank, swanson t.v. dinner style on a hard bun. their service is horrid. their professionalism rather non-existent. also, dears, include the corking price on the menu! (that lack of a ten dollar fee is very misleading.) their pizza is about the only thing going for them, sorta. (salads are in dire need of reworking.) with the city having almost a pizza joint (on average) a block away from each other these places have really got to revamp their style. (just a half block, same building... theres flipping pizza.. come on!) and onto the little city theres another then anthonys then pizza orso on maple ave. then the opposite direction theres more pizza restaurants. their competition is stronger than they, come on, reorganize the wine away from the heat and redo the menu plus fix that staff of yours!

Four of us went to SFizi on Christmas Eve this year and the experience was just unacceptable. We had 730pm reservations and were seated promptly, however, it took until 750p before anyone even recognized we were there, muchless bring us water. There was a fixed menu for the evening, which was fine, until two of us ordered the spinach ravioli with a gorgonzola cream sauce and were told they were out of it. It was 8pm and they were out of the special! Quite strange. Our salads, which was part of the fixed menu, was brought out on steaming hot plates. We think they probably had just come out of the dishwasher. Unacceptable. With the poor service, we paid out bill and left at 10pm. The bill was divided into two bills as requested, thank you, but it was given to us as a total $ amount; not itemized and included the tax in the total. We dont tip on a bill and the tax, but didnt have the bill presented to us in such a way that we could calculate the tip without the tax. Very strange. This was not the first time i had been to SFIZI, but must say, am so disappointed in not only the service, but the menu as well. Stunned might sum it up.

Weve always been really happy with the food at Sfizi. Their selection is essentially wide open; if they have the ingredients, theyll make it for you. Also usually have a pretty decent selection of Italian wines. The decor is fine, nothing really special, but they used a lot of hard materials--tile floor, etc--so it can get kind of noisy. The big drawback for me these days is the service. Since they moved to the Falls Church location from Fairfax the service has been really, really slow. It takes a long time to get a table, it takes a long time to get water and menus, it takes a long time to get your salad, and it takes a long time to get your food. I would definitely recommend this place for the food, but make sure you allow for plenty of time for the meal.

5 stars! Nice, fancy little restaurant without the price tag. The spaghetti was by far the best Ive ever tasted. I also loved their cute glasses. Very romantic place as well. And let me say, the customer service here was SUPERB. The waiter had an authentic Italian accent; my glass was never empty, and he always made sure I had everything. I was so satisfied with his service, I tipped him 30%, which I never do. I ate here after having a horrible experience at the post office upstairs, so Sfizis excellent customer service saved my night. It was a delicious, quiet dinner, and I will definitely be coming back (when Im not driving, of course) to try out the wine bar they had at one end of the restaurant.

Superb authentic Italian cuisine, great service and ambience combined with a sensational slideshow highlighting the majestic beauty of Italy in all its spendor! An unexpected virtue of this charming restaurant with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff was the wide variety of phenomenal products from Italy available for purchase to take home and share with family and friends. Easy accessible and abundant parking was also a plus in this Falls Church neighborhood. Thanks to Sfizi Cafe for a memorable culinary and visual experience!

We go to Sfizi a lot. Why? Great service. A great wine list along with the fact that you can pick out and purchase a bottle of wine there (they are also a wine shop). And the food is so consistently good that when you cant think of another place that evening it is a SURE bet. Oh, and if you like pizza their pizza is fabulous (and Im not a big pizza guy - but I like Sfizi pizza). You have to visit Sfizi BUT if its a Friday, Sat. or in the evening make reservation especially if your party is more than 2 people.

Amazing food and service! You will find it hard to beat anywhere in the Metro DMV area. At least one of the owners is always on site, and working in the kitchen, behind the bar or on the floor. She is what isa great example of a small business owner that has passion for what they do and the success the desire. The food is amazing, and will not disappoint. Siting at the small bar can be fun as well, and fast service.
