Overpriced, Cafeteria Type of Atmosphere, Food Poisoning.... My wife and I were in the area and wanted to go to a nice restaurant for our 12th anniversary. We found the place online and thought it looked nice from the menu and because the prices were fairly high. We showed up and were surprised that it was mainly a large cafeteria type of atmosphere, very loud, no separation and not what we expected. Again the prices were high so it seemed like a place for a nice meal. What it is instead is OVERPRICED tourist food. For $100 for both of us to eat we expected a lot more. To top off paying prices that were too high, my wife got food poisoning about 2-3 hours after eating there. I called in the next day to complain and the guy said we get food poisoning complaints sometimes but we will not honor them unless you go to the hosital and get a note confirming it is food poisoning. Ok.... so let me get this straight. My wife was in agony throwing up and having explosive.... all night and you want me to pay additional money (on top of our bill for overpriced food) to go to the hospital just to confirm it was food poisoning? Its simple math, eat food, get sick very soon afterward = food poisoning. The guy I talked to said food poisoning usually takes 10 hours to show symptoms... WRONG, food poisoning can start in as little as two hours from Crab and other seafood, which is what my wife had, crab cakes. AVOID the crab cakes and AVOID this restaurant in general, too many other better choices close by.

My wife and i used to spend every weekend here on the beach. Long before the tiki bar. Last night instead of waiting in bridge traffic we decided to stop by for nostalgic reasons and have a drink. it was around 7:30 and we made sure they would be open. Site says they close at 9. We walked out to the Tiki bar and sat. And sat. And waited. The waitress with the bad tribal band was throwing things in a busers tub and the foreign bartender was telling 3 girls where he was from. 2 other waitresses were holding down the end of the bar. And we sat and waited to be acknowledged...until we decided to leave. We assumed they were closing the tiki bar early but a hostess inside confirmed they didnt close until 9. Unfortunately our last experience with a place we used to love and bring friends was piss poor. We laughed because apparently a customer had walked out on his check for the third time this week. We joked that he probably wanted to pay, but was ignored by the tribal band as well. And wondered why they keep serving the deadbeats and ignore the paying customers. good luck with that.

Pleasant setting. As good as Chesapeake Bay seafood gets (although not in a class with direct-from-the-seafood shack weve experienced elsewhere). Adequate and varied selection; we recommend ordering a variety of small platters (vs a main dish). Taco tuna a specially good choice. Home-made sauces (tartar, shrimp, etc). We did see Eastern Crabs delivered to an adjacent table; they are served on a large slab of brown paper and you hammer them to winkle out the crab meat; straight out of the 1960s, in our experience; well definitely go for them next time around! Service was pleasant, albeit a bit inattentive (although food, once ordered, arrived promptly; June 2016 update: service has definitely sloooowed and, for that matter, servers are ...dare we say it? definitely on the chubby side.). Good value for money, as seafood goes these days. Hard to find; not within several miles distant from Stevensville (take a map!).

The food gets good marks - but the SERVICE is unutterably awful! Our waiter was barely coherent, had memory and understanding issues, was beyond inattentive (we had to ask for him 3 times), brought the wrong wine and even argued that the incorrect white wine he had brought was Cabinet Sauvignon! It was almost 2 hours before we received our Entree - and this was entirely due to the waiter, not the kitchen. And yes, as you can guess, two people in the party had ordered Rockfish - they received Salmon. My prime rib was indeed beef and excellent. It was the worst service experience in a not inexpensive restaurant (3 people = $170) that I have ever encountered. If you are able to deal with a level of service that is laughable, have plenty of time on your hands and are prepared to work for your supper ... the Kentmorr Restaurant is a brave choice. In one line: The food was great. Eventually.

We accidentally discovered this great restaurant five years ago and their broiled crab cake, fried oysters, side dishes and desserts were so fantastic that we flew up last week from Ft. Lauderdale to eat there again two nights in a row, driving from our hotel in Annapolis. Everything they serve is superb and their servers are very welcoming, polite and efficient. We dine out frequently, especially on trips out of town, and I would rate the Kentmorr in the top 3 after 40+ years of trying numerous restaurants. If this restaurant were within 20 miles of my home I would gain 200 pounds in a year. Were planning our next trip up later this summer when they have the fresh corn (the best we have ever tasted) available as a side dish.

We had a pretty bad experience here. The environment is great, but the food was the issue. I ordered a crab cake and a side of shrimp. For 3 very normal size shrimp, I paid $9 extra. They were quite clearly frozen shrimp imported from another country, as they had a very strong chlorine flavor throughout. I couldnt even finish one of them. There goes $9. The crab cake was decent but not great, but the side of fries came with about 15 of them. Huge waste of money and an overpriced tourist trap. The fact that there are fishermen right next to the place on the water blows my mind when the menu itself even says they import their crabs. I cant recommend this place at all, nor do I understand how the other ratings are so high.

Wonderful bar and family atmosphere, for watching the game or dinner with family or friends. Great Greek Salad and Grilled Tuna sandwich. The O.J. was the best Ive had in any restaurant. Leslie told me it was freashly squeezed. Yes, unbelievable is was! Leslie was very accommodating and pleasant. Great to interact with someone so sincere and happily full of life. Leslie reflects great credit upon herself and her profession as a bar tender. She stands head and shoulders above her peers within the profession, and a wonderful example of a human being.

Run away now & forget this place forever, so my family can selfishly enjoy this place. This place is horrible: The sun goes down every evening; the water is wet; the sand is gritty; you have to pay money for food; the staff is attentive. This is not the place you want to be. You are a 21st-century American who is at home only when surrounded by mega-branded corporate-conceived, ROI-focused, multi-re-replicated cookie-cut venues with standard menus featuring faux specialness. Thats where you need to be. Go to the mall instead! Leave here alone!

Pros - Great location on the Bay. Cons - You will spend your entire time waiting at the bar for a drink. I waited 30 minutes to get a drink. The bartender had no idea of who to help next and was skipping over the one who had been there for ones who just walked up. What a cluster! If you cannot accommodate the crowds you are pulling then create a better system. We also ordered a pizza and we received it ice cold. We were given a buzzer that never went off and when I went to check on it, it was at the bar. Very disappointed to say the least.
