I was very disappointed, not only in the poor service but in the food. It was "HORRIBLE". I ate at your restaurant about a year ago with my family, the food was not very good. Decided to take another chance tonight, well it was worse than last time. For the price, well dinner for my family cost $120.00. It was reaIlly not worth it to me. I would rather spend the money at Osaka and Benihana which would have cost me about the same. The cook tonight was boring, the waitress was not very nice, and atleast if the food would have been good I wouldnt be here writing this review, but hey, the food was just terrible. I love Japanese, it is my favorite, but if I had it for the first time at Shogun well it would probably be a different story. My kids were disappointed that the cook didnt do anything fun. The quantity of food was also very disappointing, especially for the price. I wouldnt mind paying the money somewhere else thats worth it!

The restaurant, which we chose based on other reviews, was difficult to find due to signage. Both the Japanese restaurant Shogun and the Chinese Restaurant Dragon Phoenix exist at the same location, but signage at the location only indicates Shogun. Once we found it , service was excellent. I have a hip problem and could not sit in the booth they initially directed us to, but no problem to re-route to a table in another waitress station. The waitress gave us time to chooses from extensive menu, but not excessively. Once we laid the menus down she was there to take our order. The food arrived very fresh and hot, the hot and sour soup ($1.00 extra) had several tiny shirmp in it, the meal, when it arrived was plentiful (we both had enough for lunch the next day) The food was excellent, the service had no issues, and the price compared to other restaurants on Hall Road.

the waitress was horrible. When we came in, her first words were "what do u want to eat" I said, can we get a menu? She was really mean. Im always a great tipper. I ordered vegetable chow main. I asked for a side dish of fresh calamari (which was on the menu) She told me they would mix it in the chow main. I told her that wouldnt be right. She got really mad when I insisted on having it as a side dish, like it said on the menu. She went to the kitchen and started screaming, and that turned into a huge fight in there. My girlfriend said that we had to get out of there. NO WAY would we ever eat there food. Paid for 2 beers, and left. I feel sorry for anyone who goes in there.

Terrible service with a waitress that did not speak any English!! While we were waiting for a table at the bar, the waitress came over and told us she would NOT serve us any drinks until we got to our table because she was too busy! Had a reservation but still waited 20 minutes for a table when we got to our table the waitress did not speak english, we had to point on the menu to what we wanted! Our sushi sat on the counter waiting for the waitress to pick up and bring to our table for 15 min. Did not honor our coupon that they said they would and then charged us 20% gratuity!!! Overall terrible experience! Terrible service!!!

We usually dine at the Hall Road Location and have been nothing but happy. Yesterday, having an Amazon Local coupon, we went to the Sterling Heights (Van Dyke) location. A DISASTER!! this place is certainly Hall Roads poor cousin. Ordered the Hibachi noodles. Usually get a nice thin egg noodle. These looked like swollen, slimy gummy worms. Ordered Tempura Seafood - got deep fried carrots and eggplant! Since when is eggplant a seafood??? If this is the quality of food at this location, Shogun ought to protect its reputation and close this restaurant.

Loved the shrimp kow and beef with vegetables. Food was amazing except the sushi lacks flavor. Ive actually had a lot better from Kroger... I wasnt exactly happy with service, personal space invasion alert as the waitress stood literally too close and when Id back up she would move closer. Paid a lot to eat here and got funny looks from staff as we ordered the dinner for 4 but there were two adults and my six year old. Um I did have two others to feed at home thanks...

The only thing I have a problem with is the service. I waited at the door for over 5 minutes to be seated two days in a row, and it wasnt that busy. There is over 10 cameras pointed everywhere they should see whats going on. I will try it again to see if it was just a fluke, but after reading some of the other reviews it looks like the staff isnt happy there. Im not sure I want to pay the big bucks to eat food prepped by a disgruntled employee, just saying.

This is my favorite Asian food restaurant in the area. I say Asian restaurant because they serve more than just Chines food. If you eat in, then you have a choice of traditional Chinese, Japanese sushi or hibachi style cuisine. Every time I dine here, the food is consistent and hot. I order take-out probably twice a month from here and have never been let down. I strongly recommend going here and giving it a try.

I go here at least 2 times a week for lunch, Im taking classes at Macomb and this place has amazing sushi for lunch time. Onion soup and sushi is my preference. I do also go here for dinner though, and I have to say, it is by far my favorite place to eat. The food is amazing, the staff is very friendly, and theyre quick in general. Highly suggest it, I take my buddys here all the time. You wont regret it!

THE BEST food around! The bad reviews are proably from snooty people who dont know what good food is. This is honestly the best i have ever had its a major part of my childhood and the only shoguns i love the others ones are crap compared to this. I dont eat fried rice anywhere else but here. The staff are lovely its just worth going to the japanese side!

Seriously, avoid this place. The workers are shady as hell, they charge more than menu prices, then just say price went up. Change the menu then idiots. So I get the carry out home, and there is mayo smeared all over every roll, 2 of which have no mention of Mayo, or spicy mayo at all. There are plenty of decent places within a few miles.

My boyfriend and I stopped by here the other night around 7 or 8pm The lady at the front desk was very kind. BUT, I will never come here again. I had to take my boyfriend to the emergency room just about an hour after we ate he was throwing up repeatedly, he had the general tsao chicken. I had pepper steak, I also had a very upset stomach.

unbelievable service! Rude waitress that treats customers like garbage. I will never give a place money that insults customers who pay 100.00 food bills! The waitress who waited on my family needs to be fired, unfortunately she wasnt wearing a name tag to call her out on this review. This place will go out of business soon.
