This is simply our favourite restaurant in greater Cincinnati. We regularly travel 45 mins each way from N.KY on Sundays just to eat there. We have only ate at the buffet where the variety of flavourful, authentic Indian food is simply fantastic during a Sunday lunchtime. I usually sample at least 8 items & sometimes more if they have included new ones on my first pass. Then have a second sampling of my favourites: chicken curry, tikka masala & a wonderful mushroom dish whose name escapes me. Having grown up in the UK I love curries & have never been disappointed. Recently they had 3 distinct regional ones on offer in the same buffet. One word of caution to first-time visitors: If you are after pristine restrooms, spotless carpets, updated decor & 21st century fixtures & silverware or extremely punctual service this place is simply NOT for you. If its simply about the food then come along, grab a table & make your way to the buffet. Enjoy the aromas, flavours & sounds of India with generous Sikk hosts & a wonderful assortment of fellow guests from all corners of that amazing land who now call the Tri-State home. 3 adults + two kids = $25 total yesterday. Cant think of another place that compares to this in either high quality food or low prices.

I moved from South Asia to Cincinnati, and Im Indian myself. I had visited many of the recommended major Indian restaurants - and had come away bitterly disappointed. A combination of blind desperation and hope led me to Anand one evening. What we had was not just startlingly good, it rivalled the best Indian food Ive had in India, Singapore and Malaysia. I made it a point to talk to the (very nice) owner. He said that Anand serves food that is tuned to Western tastes Monday to Friday, and on weekends, tunes it to ethnic Indians. A word of note - if you go to other Indian restaurants, and use the quaint scale for spiciness that Ive come to associate with East Indian restaurants in North America, you could ask for a 6/6 or 10/10 and get nothing. I did the same thing here, and there was one helluva kick. Spice with discretion ;) Chicken biriyani - 5/5 with Raita - 3.5/5 Rava Masala Dosai - 4.5/5 - with coconut chutney - 4.5/5 and sambar - 3/5 Payasam - 5/5 Gulab Jamun - 2.75/5 Masala Tea - 3/5 So remember, this was the weekend. Come to your conclusions - as you should - I have. Anand can expect a lot more of my business, and I will tell each and every one who asks me where to go for Indian food - itll be Anand.

Dirty and disgusting. I bought a Groupon a while back and went to use it. While waiting for my meal I went to take a look at the buffet and almost puked. Brown wilted old lettuce, food all dried up looking like it was sitting there for 8 hours or more, flies, gross!! I hoped my food since it was being made fresh would be okay. It was awful. Hands down the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. I barely got through a few bites and couldn;t take it and threw it away. I didnt even give it to my dogs b/c I was afraid they would get sick. I ordered chicked tikka masala, which is a pretty standard Indian dish and all I asked was for them to add some paneer (the homemade cheese cubes) to it. When I got home I dont know what food they cooked. Although there was some paneer, there were tons of onions, green peppers and the sauce was yellow and tasted nothing like chicken tikka masala. I have NEVER had chicken tikka like this. I know they got my order correct b/c I pointed to it on the menu and the ticket she wrote on said chicken tikka masala. Dont go. Save yourself the money and a stomach ache.

food was little below ok level... 2 star kind food...we went there couple time hoping that next time would be better n first time was just bad timing...but I guess not.... it was still same ols stuff...I think they keep food for days or so....n also on top of the expressiveness of food, they charged $5 for half plate of onion....I was like next time Im getting onion from Kroger first then going there....but save your self trouble n if u looking for freash food, go to ajanta restaurant in beaver creek.... I know for fact that they cook new food every day coz I have order their food for little party...n we told them for 50 ppl but they still brought food for 70 incase if they run out n when it was left over they offer us to keep it at no cost...n when asked they said they dont take it back or use it once its already been cold one time.... n at the restaurant it self they usually dont have left over n if they do they throw away...but this place is absolute rip off.....if they offer better service n food I would be there once a week, coz I live like 3.2 miles from that...

The food tasted okay. I came in around 12:30 and the place was semi-full. The buffet was almost picked clean and it wasnt replenished at a rate I would have liked. It took almost 15 minutes for the cook to come out and start replenishing the buffet. On top of that one customer had to ask the waitress for a refill and to add plates. My water was not refilled and I had to ask for that to be done. I was not impressed with the waitress’s attentiveness to the customers. Needless to say the waitress did not get a tip. I have come in before right after they have opened for lunch the buffet was full and had plenty to choose from, but the other day it wasnt even worth it. Please be consistent. This place is closed. Not surprised.

Terrible restaurant - totally run down and unappetising. We used to be avid visitors of this restaurant - till new management took over. The waitress simply does not care - takes forever to come get your order, is rude and absolutely disinterested. First it took her forever to bring water - then she never brought any drinks for the kdis - not even water despite several requests. The food was cold and tasteless when it did finally arrive. Overall, a big disappointment. I dont care if theyre cheaply priced and offer 50% off groupons. my family is never going back because frankly, I wasnt even sure the food ordered from the menu was even freshly made. I am an Indian so I would know :-)

This has got to be the absolute worst Indian restaurant I have ever experienced. I dont know why they even ask how spicy you want your dish, because they consistently make everything so spicy it can not be eaten. However, the absurd spice level does distract from the complete lack of flavor. For some reason my co-workers go to this restaurant for lunch once a week, and if Im starving to death Ill occasionally order something in the hopes that it wont be as bad as the last time. I have to give them credit for consistency. It is always terrible. I can not believe that this place is still in business.

Im not an expert on Indian food, but I know delicious food when I taste it. Look no further than Anand. The food is fresh and delicious, the prices are very reasonable and the service is amazing. I have now been to Anand twenty-five or thirty times and each experience has been delightful. Others have said that the atmosphere is unimpressive and theyre right. But once youve been married for 17 years, you realize that there are more important things than atmosphere. Anand delivers those things beautifully! Try it! Support a local business and enjoy yourself in the process. You wont be sorry!
