Let me preface this comment with the information that I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The Metro Vancouver area is home to one of the largest South Asian ex-pat communities in North America and some of the best Indian food outside of India (or London, UK). I had a staple dish for me, chicken tikka masala, and it was excellent. I ordered it at a level 4 spiciness (out of 6) and it had plenty of spice and flavour. The rice was fluffy. The portions were MASSIVE. The nan was warm and flaky without being dry. My husband had the matar paneer and the ghee (fresh soft cheese) was firm and flavourful and the peas were tender. He had his spiced to a level 5 and felt that was an an accurate description. If you want to try Indian food for the first time, check out their lunch buffet or order any of their dishes at a level 1 spiciness. If you are sceptical about mid-west strip mall Indian cuisine, eat here. You will like it.

Three of us had dinner here on a Friday night. An informal setting yet comfortable. VERY attentive & friendly service. All our meals were cooked to perfection and very tasty. Chicken Masala, Shrimp Tandoori & Mixed Vegs with Garlic and Spicy Nan bread. Note: The heat range choices are from 1-6. I ordered my shrimp Tandoori medium and it was quite hot. My companions said the same about their dishes. OK for us, but would suggest for those who like their food with just a little kick but not hot, go no higher than a 1 or maybe 2. Also, although on some web sites it indicates beer & wine is available they are NOT. However, you can bring your own. Overall a very nice experience and we will return.

I went a few weeks ago and it was my husband and I first time trying Indian food. Were both vegetarian and they options they had for us was pleanty. I got the garlic nom and a chili (cant remember the name) but it had their cubed cheese, onions, peppers and wonderful flavor of spices. It waa absolutely delicious!! The man and woman made sure our waters were always full, and the prices are not bad also. It was also nice to see how many people kept stopping in to pick up their take-out. That there let me know how much everyone else enjoyed eatting there. I will definitely be back!!

I would never visit this place again. I went yesterday. Had chicken biryani. What they gave is veg biriyani with chicken pieces. I think the same goes to lamb biriyani as well. She said its common to have veggies. Yeah thats ok. But it had lot of veggies. Why the hell should I have lot of carrots, peas, corn and even lot of tomatoes. Big one. And rice is over cooked. I am an amateur cook but I cook way better biriyani than this. And Malay kofta, man come on . Pls remove that recipe from the menu. I am just giving my review what I had experienced there yesterday.

I am not a person who usually gives a comment till the things are OKAY .There was very good reviews about the place , so with the family we headed to it.But my experience here was quite terrible. So if you are a person who is interested in fine dinning ,for sure this is not a place for you.The ambiance was pathetic ,service was not good and the food was equally bad.Not many varieties in starter and main course as well.Definitely dont recommend for a family/couple dinning.

I had buffet couple of times here and second time I only went there because this is the nearest indian restaurant from my apt .The number of food items in buffet is very less ,they give only one desert item that is rice pudding , not much in non veg ,didt find chicken tandoori , Only one or two dishes are eatable and rest items could be prepared better .If you are looking for classic indian food not the buffet here you should choose and there are other better restaurants here .

Ordered chicken curry, one of my favorites, to go. First time trying this place out. They were super friendly over the phone. The food was great, though spicier than I expected. When I try a new Indian place I tend to go with a 2 for spice the first time and go up from there. I like spicy. This 2 is closer to a 4 at most places, so keep that in mind. Awesome experience overall and will go there again.

Attitude of the male staff was not upto the mark. We had ordered to dine in but instead by mistake he taught it is a carryout order. And when he was giving our order in the box we said we gave dine in order so instead of giving us a plate and telling us to sit in the resturent. He put the box on the other table and went away with rude attitude. And this is not appreciateable from customers end.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant! The owners and everyone who works there is always super friendly and inviting. My water glass is always at least 75% full, the food is always delicious (including the lamb which some of the other restaurants struggle with but theirs is always great), and the service is always fantastic. I love their saag! I come here whenever I have the chance.

Great east-side Indian. Staples like Chicken Tikka Masala and Vindaloo are great, and they have a very good lamb curry. My girls have taken a liking to Indian because of this restaurant (didnt like the other places weve been to). Great, personable service--and the after dinner visit to the Orange Leaf a few doors down is nice as well. Way better than Royal Taj down the street.

One of the best Indian Restaurant ever visited. Went there along with my family last weekend. The people who works there are extremely nice and friendly. The food was delicious (particularly saag panir and Lamb biryani) and service was great. Overall great experience. Highly recommended.

We love this place! We are treated like family every time we go. They know my daughter likes ice tea with lemon and I like a coke, without asking or saying anything. The food is amazing! Ill pick Taj Indian over Texas Roadhouse a lot of times, the food is that good.

Probably the best Indian food on the east side, and they give you plenty of food to boot (2 main dishes feeds 2 people for 2 meals). The owners are some of the nicest people too. Only place well go for Indian.

Excellent service and an amazing experience for my sons first time experiencing Indian cuisine . The staff was so friendly and took the time to explain the menu items.
