Please dont be fooled by the reviews. The first and foremost thing i would like to mention is how rude one of the owners was . we were a group of 5 people and we ordered Samosa, Mixed platter, Chicken Kabab , Garlic naan, Pudhina Naan, Chicken curry , Malai Kofta ,goat curry (came with rice and naan), Chicken biriyani , Mango Lassi and Gulab Jamun. Let me tell you how each of them tasted:- Samosa ,Mixed platter- the best starters I have had in the area, they tasted fresh though we went in at 8:30 pm and the store was gonna close at 10pm. Chicken Kabab --> one would expect that chicken pieces would be cut and roasted and mixed with few fried veggies but instead we got the chicken which was grounded and made to look like cylindrical chunks with lotta onion fried in turmeric. Goat curry--> one of those few things that was good. Chicken curry , Malai Kofta--> I felt like the curry was same for both of them the only difference was one had chicken slices in it and the other koftas in it. i feel like they are just using one single curry as base and adding the pieces to it as we order. Chicken Biriyani --> I came all the way from Dayton to eat at this place and it failed me so hard. I was very dissapointed to find dal in chicken biriyani . The rice was not even basamati rice it was just regular rice and it has huge chunks of vegetables in it as if it was some vegetable rice and they added some chicken chunks to it. Mango Lassi --> it was poorly done. Too much mango pulp and only little yogurt wihtout any sugar added to it. Gulab Jamun - Now we have a friend who loves sweets so he decided to order this. the funny part was when i was trying it break it apart i had to put in so much effort to get through with. Im no cook but I sure know Gulab Jamuns should be the ones with soft centre and very easy to break apart . The ones we got were hard and dry int he centre as if they were waiting to be ordered by someone from past I dont know how many days ( I can vouch it was longer then 10 days for sure). I drove for 58 minutes to get to this place reading the reviews cuz a good Indian restaurant is hard to come by nowadays. This inspired me to write this review. and hey, dont judge us for ordering so many dishes we were super hunger from all the shopping on balck friday. ;)

Not vegan friendly at all. We ordered off the vegetarian menu, where some items were listed as "creamy" or "light cream sauce," we avoided those. We got the Bhartha (eggplant with mild spices) and Malai Kofta (mixed vegetable balls in tomato sauce). We didnt specify that we wanted vegan dishes because we thought our choices were safe (lesson learned). Both dishes arrived loaded with cream. The vegetable balls were mostly fried cheese with some slivers of carrots. I didnt bother asking, but given our experience the rice is probably made with ghee as well. Having eaten other non-vegan indian food, I thought the flavors were pretty bad for both dishes - dominated by the creamy dairy flavor and not very authentic tasting. I ordered a 4 out of 6 spicy on the vegetable balls and they had no spice at all. Overall it was disappointing.

Simply the best! My family has been going to Shaan for years. We do not live particularly close but make the trip because the food is great but the service is unparalleled. The owners have welcomed us time and time again. I love how they remember us, what we eat, where we live, what are young daughters interests are and so on. It really feels like you are at an old friends house when dining here. Even during their busiest times, they treat you like family. I have referred many of my friends and family to Shaan and even the biggest food critics that I know, love this place. It is also a great date night spot, you can bring your own beer, or bottle of wine and they provide table service. It is an extraordinary experience. I love this place and highly recommend giving it a try!

Hubby, mom and Mr. M and I got to try their lunch buffet yesterday. I checked out their website in advance and noticed the coupons they offered and printed them off - $3 off two buffets! The service was very friendly and attentive and the food itself was some of the best weve experienced. My favorites were the tandoori chicken (very flavorful and tender) and the Saag Paneer (huge chunks of paneer and a light kick of heat). My hubby insisted that the naan was the best weve ever had because it was so fresh (they bring it to your table separately). We will definitely return here soon! Id love to come for dinner and try their Shahi Korma!

This place was a pleasant surprise--the prices are lower than Baba India, and the food is just as good, if not better, not to mention the service is MUCH faster in comparison! The lunch buffet is a reasonable $7.99, and everything was fresh and really delicious. There werent many people eating in for lunch, but I think most of their business is people coming in and getting it to go. We also went for dinner, which was just as good. Their fresh nan is really wonderful, and they take care to make sure you have everything you need, which is really really nice after multiple times sitting over an hour waiting for a check at Baba.

To our American friends - this is the closest you will get to "authentic" Indian food. If you live close to Lebanon road, please take the extra effort to visit this place. Im sure you will voluntarily avoid New Krishna, Sankalp etc etc after that. To the proprietor - You are doing a great job and are very pleasant to interact with. Please keep up the good work. I would urge our friends to visit your restaurant. I rarely write reviews and I had to this time since there are two distinguishing features in Shaan compared to other Indian restaurants. 1. Great CONSISTENT taste. 2. Indians are ALSO treated very very well!

Not only is the food tasty but the staff here treat you as if youve come over to their home for dinner. They are friendly, attentive, and they are playful with their interactions with our 2 year old daughter who loves coming here. We do takeout and dine in often and if you check it out Im sure youll find yourself quickly doing the same. We enjoy the Saag Paneer, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tiki Masala, Lamb Curry, lots of variety of naan, and the mixed platter appetizer.

Best Indian around! We go weekly if not more and have become friends with the great people who work there. Theyve given us Christmas cards, called us on our birthdays, etc. . . Some of the best customer service around period. Between the websites printable coupons (1/2 off a dinner with purchase of a dinner) and the every Saturday 20% off Chicken dishes, the prices are extremely fair. Going on a Friday or Saturday? Get there early to beat the crowds.

Have eaten here over 20 times for lunch buffet during lunch break and its pretty darn good food, and the best value in town you cant beat the price. Buffet selection is average and food quality is average to above average, for people who dont really know Indian food, this place is highly recommended. Consistency is key here, the owner takes pride in assuring everything tastes good, and I can appreciate that........ and the good food!
