Flying Biscuit Cafe is a straight-forward southern location that has a loaded breakfast menu. While there are other options outside of breakfast, its obvious that breakfast is their "thing". And trust me, they do it pretty well. Its located in the Cameron Village shopping centre and has both indoor and outdoor seating (which, depending on your mood and the weather - both should be available). The staff are friendly, quick, and attentive. The food is yummy and filling (perhaps, even too filling). They have an extensive menu of mixed drinks as well as a menu dedicated to their "Coffee Bar". All-in-all, definitely a place you can sit down and enjoy your food with company or alone. Environment: Four Stars (****) Theres something to be said about a brightly painted place. It seems to bring in the sunshine and encourage a positive perspective to the entire experience; whether you want to admit that or not, thats up to you. Theres an adequate amount of seating (tables and you can sit at the bar, if thats your thing). Everything is painted and designed in a way to make you feel like youve walked into a friendly little cafe - because thats exactly what youve done. Its quaint and makes you feel *almost* at home (if not for the fact that it isnt!). Theres not much more that can be said. Its very clean in appearance and attire - its laid out in a way to make sure that you feel comfortable when youre eating. Customer Service: Three Stars (***) This was a tough one. I liked the staff; they were rather friendly. However, there were moments where I didnt feel as welcomed as the decor lead me to believe (by the staff, at least). So Im going to go with three stars this time; it was good and I liked the overall service - just had a few hiccups that are strictly subjective to my own experience/perception. At the same time, I was an individual requesting a table instead of sitting at the bar - which, considering there were a significant amount of open tables, it should not have been a concern (but it seemed that it was - and if this was something that I should not have asked for, I apologize for this misinterpretation of the situation). My waitress was attentive and made sure to ensure that everything got to me quickly. The waitress herself was friendly and rather respectful/engaging. Food Three Stars (***) The food is tasty and pretty decent. Price-wise, youre not going to spend a heap of money on food even if you lean on the higher priced items on their menu (except for drinks, but thats understandable). I ordered the Piedmont Omelette with potatoes, with a mocha latte (total price, $14.31). The potatoes were delicious. The omelette gave me mixed feelings. The chicken sausage and turkey bacon really meshed well, but the onions overpowered the omelette. Coffee-wise, the mocha latte was more like a hot chocolate with a faint coffee flavour - which wasnt what I was expecting, but it did taste good. Price Four Stars (****) Like Ive said, youre not going to spend a lot of money at Flying Biscuit unless youre pounding away their mixed drinks. Their drinks are priced reasonably; but for any "iced" drinks from their coffee bar menu youre going to pay about fifty cents more for the ice. The mixed drinks on the menu were priced within the range Id expect them to be ($6-12 depending on the complexity of the drink) - however, I cannot attest to their strength (which may add or remove value, of course). Overall Three Stars (***) I liked it. That one dish has kept me rather filled and its currently reaching into the beginning of the evening (still not hungry). Food was typical for what would be a breakfast restaurant; but definitely miles ahead of any chain like IHOP or Dennys. If you find yourself in this area, definitely give Flying Biscuit a try for your breakfast.

Ate here a few months back and while the wait was long it was great food and the service was awesome as well... Not the case today! We were sat outside which was awesome, the weather was great. The server came over took our drink orders and brought them out promptly, sat the drinks down and quickly dissapears. We wait roughly 10 minutes before she comes over and asks if we are ready to order which we are, I inform her that a bee has drowned in my coffee and I would like another, she disregards the order and dissapears. Before returning with my coffee or actually taking our order. The table behind us is sat. She gets them and takes the drink order (still havent got my coffee) she returns with the drink order for the table behind us. (Still no coffee) she takes there food order... (Still no coffee and we havent ordered yet, its the same waitress!) She finally shows up with the coffee, we tell her we would really like to order, the order was taken and we were informed that biscuits were on the way to our table, some time passes and she comes with a tray two biscuit baskets and 4 plates she sets one tray on our table, pauses and says Im sorry we r out of plates so... Ill get them out as soon as I can. She then takes the plates that she does have to the table that was sat after us. We never saw plates finally the food comes out and she hasnt got the slightest idea who ordered what and all our drinks are empty, it took far too long to get our refills the table opposite of us was having the same issue with this waitress, one lady didnt receive her sides until they were almost finished. Getting the check took far too long as well. While the food was great, I dont think I can eat here again, I have never had such horrible service. Maybe its because we were outside who knows.

I went to the restaurant. Went to the table and nobody came to wait on me. When I was seated the host and hostess both told me. I could get waited on in a minute. Nobody came. The host and hostess saw that could not get waited on. And would not volunteer to help me. I asked them several times for help. They would not do anything. Just stood there and did nothing. It was obvious that one waitress, young, white, obese, blond young hair. Saw that I not get waited on. She knew that I not get waited on. Kept repeating to me,asked me if I got waited on. I had to ask her to leave. She not want to wait on me. And tried to start a fight with me. Decided to leave to get waited on another table. Mia, server was rude to me continually. She was nicer to the tables with male customers. She was slow to wait on me. Had to ask her to get waited on. She would interrupt me continually. And ask the same question. I told her to stop doing that. And to speak slower. She finally did that. She not want to spend much time at my table. Not busy though she rushed to get rid of female customers to wait on males. She gave me my bill. And ranaway quickly and not come back. I had to stare at her to come back to my table. She would not volunteer to do much of anything for me. Though she would volunteer to do alot for male customers. More than female customers.

Cleanliness 5/5. Everything was clean. Our utensils, our cups, our tables and most importantly the bathrooms. Service 4/5. The waitresses were trying to keep up with the heavy restaurant traffic but always made sure (when they could get to us) that our drinks were filled. Genuine friendly attitudes and welcoming smiles made the experience better. Price 5/5. The meals are reasonably priced. Quality 3/5. To get to the "meat and potatoes" part of the review let me start off with the biscuits. My wife and I are not fans of sugary biscuits but I over looked that. Maybe you will too? Its fun to try new things. Sweet potatoe fries were also sugared as well though, when they are sugary as they naturally already are. The omelette I ordered was incredibly oily. Literally saturating it to the point there was a brown, translucent puddle next to the entree. I got through half before I couldnt take the oily coating any longer. Reading the other reviews, this seems to be a regular occurrence with the eggs whether they are scrambled, fried or what have you. My wife had the Tofu and Tater salad and loved it. This was also her first southern-esque experience with Fried Green Tomatoes. Their take on it was okay, but felt pricy for the few you actually got when ordered. Overall, we will come back and try other items on their eclectic menu.
