During my few semesters at Fresno City College in 1993-4, my future wife and I would go to the original Don Pepe location on Blackstone. Not sure, but I think they were pretty new back then. years ago when this location opened up I was ecstatic since I no longer spend as much time near their other location(s) and the food is exactly the same regardless of the location. If you are looking for a burrito or tacos, I would go somewhere else. you want to be focusing on the fish tacos, shrimp tostadas, tortas, and other dinner plates. If you want to keep it on the less costly side, go with a regular quesadilla- beans, cheese, guacamole- then load up on the condiments. if I get one regular bean, cheese, guac quesadilla + onions, cilantro, red tomato salsa, and hot sauce will last me two take out session meals, but I rarely resist a fish taco or my fav shrimp tostada I dont know what it is, but their camerones are big and tasty with the perfect citrus absorption from drizzled lime ... now im hungry... in my top 5 choices for Mexican - on the casual side (wearing your pajamas in for a togo order, especially at the FSU location, is no big deal).

I came to the counter to order some super nachos with beans and cheese only and an Horchata. The girl at the register did not greet me or asked what I wanted to order. She stood there looking at me , so I gave her my order. She didnt say thank you or gave me my total. I looked at the register and saw my total and gave her the money. She gave me the horchata which was extremely watered-down, with very little flavor. When my order was finally called out they got it wrong. All though they were pretty fast, the food was less than OK and did not make up for their bad service .

I have gone to 2 different locations of Don Pepes before coming here and ill say its not that great place. There meats need more flavor you have to buy the chips thats a first one. Yes its fast service but its not that great food. If you are craving Mexican, authentic Mexican this is not the place. I recommend El Michoacano. But yea meats need more flavor.

I wanted to like this place, but was completely disappointed during my first visit. We ordered a 8 tacos and a few drinks. The total was over $30 and all we got was tortillas and meat... Literally that was it. Who makes a taco with nothing more than meat? I dont think I will give this place another shot. Ill stick with the other places in town...

What happen to Don Pepes!!?? I guess the franchising did not settle well with the quality of food... So sad, I used to eat at Don pepes twice a week! Today I gave a try to this location, thinking that the food may be better...wrong!! Oh, well, it is not like there is not enough Mexican restaurants in Fresno...

I ordered shrimp tacos and they were awful, I wasnt ask if I wanted corn or flour tortillas, I assume I would get corn tortillas since I did ask for for tacos not a burrito, then they top my taco (burrito) with mozzarella cheese without them asking if I wanted cheese which made the tacos taste even worse.

Horrible food the guy was a ass hole and i told him the shrimp tasted bad and if i can order something else i only at one piece of shirmp out of the cocktail and he was being rude all the guys where looking at me and talking in spainish and didnt think i understood and called me a dumb white girl ..!!!!

The first time it was great. This time we ordered our food to go, then was given he wrong order and when we called back to tell them they said it was our fault, their closed now and then hung up. Zero customer service when theres a problem. We wont go there again. At least not to that location.

The absolute best authentic Mexican food Fresno has to offer. If you havent been to Don Pepé, then youve lived a miserable meaningless existence. Do yourself a favor and have your next meal here. You will not be disappointed.

Although my favorite food is at Don Pepe, I feel like this location lacks in cleanliness, as well as service. My other favorite locations are the one across from Fresno state, and the one on Blackstone and gettysburg.

Called to make a pick up order 30 mins before they closed and they deny me. Really it take 30 mins to make food already prepared. My daughters been sick from there food and they have a bunch of incompetent workers.

Great Mexican food, especially their fish tacos, cheese quesadilla, and breakfast burritos. Theyre not the most friendly group, but they arent rude either. The place can get busy, especially around lunch time.

Horchata was being pored from a dirty bucket onto the water dispenser. My order was wrong. Got it corrected and later as I ate the azada meat was extremely dry. Horrible quality!

The food was delicious but the place was dirty! All the tables ,floors and the womens restroom was disgusting, paper everywhere! My michelada cup was dirty on the bottom!
