Ok. This was my first and last experience at a Waffle House. My friend and I walked in to have breakfast after a long night and sat down at the counter. We sat there for a few minutes before being greeted by at least 3 waitresses promising someone will be right with us. And finally after being there for about 5 more minutes, Miss Rhonda strolled our way. First of all, let me just say that this lady, from her grey teeth to her greasy pony tail, seriously need either a hit of whatever she had been smoking, or was just coming down from an all-night crack bender. She was, needless to say, tore up. From her slurring words to her inability to maintain a steady gaze with anyone, to her constant blaring unintelligible orders at the cooks, Miss Rhonda will forever be remembered as the worst waitress that ever lived. After nearly being knocked from my bar stool by one of the other waitresses trying to wipe the counter down with a questionable-looking dish rag, Miss Rhonda finally took our drink order. It took only a minute for her to sit them down on the counter. I dont usually drink from straws, so when I started to put my cup of tea to my lips she said, "I wouldnt do that if I were you." "What?" I asked her. "Oh...nothing", as she trailed off shuffling away from us. I was pretty sure she was telling me not to drink from my cup because it was dirty. I hesitantly took a sip as Miss Rhonda trudged back towards us. She grunted at us to give her our order, which we did...with some difficulty. I think she has a hard time reading when she is lit. Finally, after forgetting to tell the cooks we ordered, Miss Rhonda yelled at them to rush it. It had been at least 10 minutes since we gave it to her. I could say a lot more about Miss Rhonda, but I will conclude by saying that we gave her a 3 dollar tip. We would have given her 5, but Im pretty sure she would have just used that to get another fix. One last thing I will say is that we really dont know how this "restaurant" received a 96.5 inspection rating. They would have really needed to clean that place up to earn that. Turn your life around, Miss Rhonda. We believe in you.

My husband and I have been to Waffle House many times and we love the food and normally love the service as well. Yesterday we had our first bad experience with service, unfortunately. We walked in and the place was not extremely busy. Only a few people sitting at the counter, all of the booths were empty, so we sat at a booth. On our way to sit down, my husband noted that one of the employees behind the counter, with her back to him, greeted him. We sat down, and looked at the menus for a few minutes, and no one ever came to take our drink order even. During our wait, we also noticed a person sitting nearby at the counter whom appeared to be fast asleep the entire time we were there. My husband thought it was a bum that was hanging out there, I had assumed it was an employee on his or her break just sleeping at the counter. I dont know. They were wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up over their head. We sat there a total of between 10 and 15 minutes and had been ready to order within a few minutes of having sat down. About 7 or so minutes into sitting there looking around, one of the employees glanced over and said shed be right there. Another 5 or so minutes of waiting and no one came to help us. We did not wish to wait any longer, so we left. As we walked out, there were still at least four workers behind the counter, including the employee whom said shed be right there to help us (and never did), and aside from the person at the grille, none of them seemed to be doing anything that prevented someone from at least taking our drink order. They appeared to be all socializing with one another as we left, not one of them took notice of our exit or said a word to amend what had happened. It was really shocking because we are so used to employees being friendly and very helpful. We really love Waffle House and are willing to drive out of our way to a different location in the future to have breakfast or lunch, but the way we were treated at this location was just too aggravating not to address.

Both times that Ive been to this Waffle House, I have received nothing better than horrible service. The last time I was there, when we (my girlfriend and myself) first walked in, a waitress behind the bar rudely pointed to a booth in the corner and said, "you gotta sit there." The look on her face disgusted me more than her words. Then she rolled her eyes; probably due to the shocked looks on our faces. The only reason we stayed is because another young lady waited on us and we decided the first lady might be having a bad night. However, the service continued to be slow and we felt like we were a burden for the people serving us...something that should never be the case. To top things off, the food was cold and the order was incorrect- the hash browns were served plain, though I had asked (and was almost charged for) three toppings. I will never come back to this Waffle House and wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Go to the one on Western Blvd- its not that far away. Ive always received great service and food there.

Ok so first of all this is definitely a biased review since i work there. But in my 9 months working and eating here I must say the service and food quality is pretty good. Everyones experience is different and we experience different management, new trainees, rude customers, etc. All things that effect service ANYWHERE. I must say I am appaled at some of these reviews because I know the waffle house experience and we strive to make every customer happy. If you want good service come on the weekend and ask for josh. Employees should never tell you where to sit unless youre by yourself and you sit in a booth. The other location is on Hillsborough street not western boulevard. Please if you have a negative experience talk to the manager or call the customer hotline. They dont want to lose your business and we are always more than happy to re cook any food if not made correctly or cold as you described.

I tried to place a pick up order but then realized that wasnt going to happen after being on hold for 10 mins...so I drove there only to find all the tables empty but one and one person at the bar....the staff were laughing and joking with this one customer the entire time including the cook...now Im all for fun and games and enjoying your work experince...but there is a time for that...maybe after you take the customers order thats been on hold! My waffle was burnt but I didnt realize it until I got to work...I will only go back if Im straving and its the closest thing to me.

The weight staff womans name is DJ, im in Raleigh and this woman was so rude, not just to me but to another young man about seating and his order, everyone else was lovely except her :), so I am so thankful for this woman named gabby! She came and saved the day and served us with nothing but respect and kindness. This woman deserves a. Raise, she fixed all the problems caused by the other woman even though she was having a really rough night her self. I dont know how long this woman has been working here but keep her!
