First time going and will not go back. The place was dirty and not kept up. The grill was not clean. We went on a Friday night at 7pm. They only had 1 "chef" working for all of their grills! This meant that 3 grills full of people were just waiting. They only had two servers working, and another guy who just sat at the front, folding cloth napkins and texting. One of the other servers sat up front with him at one point during our dinner, and started texting, leaving one server in charge of all four grills! They sat us at a table where people had already been served their soup and salad, so the lateness of our starters pushed off the entrees for everyone else. The server didnt come up to take our drink orders for 10 minutes, so we just sat there, while everyone else ate their starters. The food was good, except for our vegetables, which tasted like lemon. The portions were small, though. I ordered the Vegetable Hibachi and expected to receive more vegetables than others that ordered their meats, but I didnt. Not a lot of rice was given either, and the chef only used 3 eggs for 8 people! The chef didnt even do a show. He made the food as quickly as possible and left so he could get to the other grills, since they were so understaffed. Save your money. This place is way too overpriced for what youre getting. You can spend the same amount at another Japanese Steakhouse and get an actual show (which I expect), with good service, in a professional and clean environment- all of which this place lacks. Extremely disappointed.

Because of a slight Japanese obsession my partner and I have been visiting a lot of Japanese restaurants in the Charlotte. This is by far the best we have been to. We came on a Saturday evening around 5pm. The restaurant was lightly populated. Our waitress was nice and offered information that she was concerned I didnt have knowledge of concerning hibachi and teriyaki and ultimately helped make a decision that likely helped me enjoy my experience more. The food came out very promptly and was presented very well. Unlike some of the other reviews Ive seen here the vegetables were nicely cooked and tasty. The Miso soup was delicious. the steak was cooked exactly the way I asked it to be. The shrimp was very tasty. The rangoons were the best Ive had, probably ever. The whole experience was very unexpectedly great and left me and my partner wondering why this place doesnt have more patrons. This is what prompted me to write this review. We did not sit at the hibachi portion of the restaurant but sat on the other side with the bar and the tables. The atmosphere was very pleasing, with traditional music playing and traditional decorations. Probably the only thing I didnt like about it were the ceiling fans that likely hurt this restaurants health score. This place deserves more attention! Highly recommended.

My husband and I went there on Valentines evening. Even though the service has been poor in the past the food is acceptable and so knowing there is never a wait we decided try it again. Tonight was the final try and we will probably not return. We did not have an official waitress(or so it seemed) I believe it was the manager who took our order while all the tables around us were being waited on in a normal manner. It took 40 minutes to get our appetizer. When our food was finally served our waitress never returned neither did any of the other waitresses although on every side of us people were being taken care of as if we were invisible. I actually got up twice, went to the bar and poured my own water. The sushi tasted as though extra planco was added as a filler and they put sesame seeds on them even though we asked that they not be added. Very poor management and not enough help. The sad part is that there were no more than 10 tables full at any given time. This could be a good restaurant with a little direction.

My experience here was horrible for 2 reasons. #1 About halfway through my meal, I discovered a 2" long larvae/caterpillar in my food. When I first alerted the server, she tried to convince me it was a burnt vegetable. I knew better, there were legs. I went to the front and asked for a manager. Turned out my server was also the manager. I made her look at it closely and put it on a white napkin so she could see the legs. She didnt apologize, just said "well what do you want me to do?" No offer of reimbursement or anything. I informed her that I would post reviews everywhere that I could and shared it on my FB page as well. I will never go back. Since I got home, I found complaints of fruit flies in food as well. You see photos on my Yelp review or on their Facebook page reviews.

Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. Theres no way of describing the anger I felt when I made reservations for mothers birthday party at 8, and by 830 no one had even offered us a drink. They wouldnt even look at us. Weve been here servers times before, and its gotten progressively worse each time. We are super laid back, easy people. It says A LOT that I am writing this because I never do reviews. They wouldnt even make eye contact with us. We walked out around 45 minutes after our reservation time after still not being acknowledged or offered a drink. To be clear, we showed up 15 minutes early 7:45 and let them know we were going to wait at the bar. They called me after I walked out and Said they were ready to seat us. I let that lady have it. Never going here again.

The waitress was awesome! Food and Host... Awful! Quality and $Price$ dont match... Suggest you choose another place. Carabbas next door would be way better. As a note.... not first time at restaurant. Issue 1) Awful Customer Service - Made reservation for 9 people at 7pm, the place was empty (should have been my first clue) except one Hibachi table, so host sat us at an empty table made for 8 but then brought 2 more (not in our party) forcing us to rap around to another table. All host could say is "Hibachi Table, shared table" several times like I didnt understand her... Issue 2) Food Was not worth the $$ spent & was very oily, result caused intestinal distress for my wife and I.

The food was delicious and the service was great. The entire reason behind the lower rating is the wait. We came in and were given a 10 minute wait before they would open up the third hibachi seating of the evening. They led us in to the third grill, just as the chef was arriving at the first one. What we didnt realize was that they only have one chef. We waited over an hour while he cooked the food for the 2 tables ahead of ours, during which we were served soup, salad and appetizers. Once the chef finally arrived at our table, the grilling was entertaining and the food was delicious. The wait however, was unacceptable..

One of my favorite places for sushi. It never seems to be busy when we go, and always end up sitting at the same table. lol. I really dont understand why this place isnt busier!!! I love their sushi deal... its up on the wall in the dining room!! The only reason I took away a star is that their credit card machine doesnt accept cards with chips in them.... and I dont carry cash...... so #1, it was embarrassing to be told my card was declined.. #2 I had to go over to harris teeter to get cash out of my bank account to go back and pay my bill. I really wish they would work on this!!!!
