Let me start by saying I (and that includes my wife, kids and close friends) have been Chopsticks customers for almost 20 years. While the food quality has been consistent it seems to me that the service and attitude of many of the staff has taken a wrong turn. It has gone from being friendly and local to " I dont really care if I give good service at all...its just a job" mentality. Example: Tonight stopped by to place a to go order. Normally I would then sit at the sushi bar and have a couple of plates of sushi and a beer while I waited. Good right!? Evidently ownership is making so much money that the sushi bar staff can talk to their coworkers and pretend you dont exist till.you wander away. I eventually ordered ordered beer from the cashier and sat in the "lobby" while I waited for my to go order. Nice eh!? When I tried to explain it to the cashier she just shrugged. A month or so ago I found Wangs in Southlake. Distance and time wise for me it is about the same. I think the food is better and at least their staff pretends that the customer is important. Sorry to see Chopsticks fall off like they have. There is 1 guy at Chopsticks who I have to say is there every time I go and is always friendly and helpful...didnt get his name but long hair and tats and is normally working take out and cashier station. He may be the only employee worth keeping. BTW the 3 stars is 4 stars for food and 0 stars for the customer experience I had tonight.

Extremely upsetting. Extremely disappointed. Ive been going to Mr. Chopsticks religiously since 2004 when they were in their other location. I dont understand what has happened here. The food is horrible now. I ordered sesame chicken, and when it arrived, it was not only the incorrect plate but was also disgusting quality. The chicken was dry and obviously old. There was hardly any sauce. I told the waitress that the order was incorrect as Ive ordered sesame chicken a million times from there, and she argued with me stating that this is their sesame chicken and is how it was always been. It was a lie. If you cant get the order right, at least own your mistake. This sesame chicken was obviously sweet and sour chicken with light sauce and extremely old chicken. There were sweet potatoes, okra, and a soy sauce on it. Im not stupid. Ive been going there for 11 years at least once per week, and I always order either sesame chicken or Kung Pao. Im so disappointed. Wont be returning because of how all of this was handled. While I was sitting at the table, I pulled up the Mr chopsticks menu on my phone, and it clearly states that the dish I was given was NOT what I ordered, yet I had to pay for it. I couldnt even eat it, because of how old the chicken was.

Dentonites use this as one of the many futile attempts at justifying Denton. It is Americanized Asian food that is not very Asian. There are several other restaurants around town (Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese) that have delicious, authentic food that actually tastes like what its supposed to. Basically, Chopsticks is to Asian food as Taco Bell is to Mexican food. But, for what it is (a lame excuse), it is good eating. Once you get past the fact that it all tastes pretty much the same and all the sauces are extremely watered down. Watch out vegetarians and vegans, make sure they dont mistakenly fill your wontons and potstickers with beef instead of tofu. They dont have a real sushi chef, half the waitstaff seems stoned most of the time, and if you want to order a lunch delivery, the minimum is $50. It is just another cheap, popular, close-to-campus place to eat and plan to go there a lot if you are vegetarian or vegan because the rest of Denton does not cater to that lifestyle very well.

Mr. Chopsticks is a great bit of fun. From the homey atmosphere to the "hipsters" servicing the tables to the eclectic art on the walls to the awesome music playing in the background. Its an experience that holds a sizable chunk of Dentons charm within it. Some of the food is awesome, some not-so-much, none of it is Bad. The sushi is beautiful, meal-sized soups are substantial, and the fried green beans are to die for. I love the miso, pork potstickers with siriacha, and sesame bean balls. The stir fry is... stir fry (protein+veggies+rice+sauce), honestly isnt that the same regardless of where you go? Try the salads, soups, and dinner entrees for a better measure of the quality here. The servers here have the pulse of Denton. Dont be afraid to call out to them for whatever you may need. Ask them whats going on around town to fill your week with fun. Then order some sake or wine to fill the rest of your night with it.

Just because it is called Mr. Chopsticks, I did not think I would have to ask for plastic-ware in America, but the delivery guy brought me chopsticks to eat with and nothing else while at work where no utensils are available. The learning experience was NOT a good one! My total came to $13.20 for some lomein and an egg roll which to me is not cheap. This is probably due to their $3.95 delivery fee. They are located less than 2 miles from my office so I did not see why there was a fee at all. After giving the delivery guy a $20, he asks if I need change! Their lomein is made with mushrooms A*K*A FUNGUS! So beware, most Chinese restaurants do not use mushrooms in lomein. The food was ok. I cant say it was bad. But, the sweet&sour sauce is NOT sweet&sour it is sweet&spicy. I saw red peppers in the sauce so please do not give it to your children. Overall I give it a 2 out of 5 and probably will not eat here again.

Experienced Mr. Chopsticks tonight. Wish I hadnt. Ordered kung pao chicken. Absolute worst I have ever had. Wife ordered hunan chicken and really there was no discernible difference between the two dishes. Meaning they both looked smelled and tasted exactly the same. Both dishes has this acrid burnt taste, almost like there were some sort of hydro carbons in them. I have never eaten kung pao that didnt have peanuts in it and it was pretty bland other than the burnt motor oil flavor. Honestly Ive had better Chinese food at the shady buffet across the street in that roach infested strip mall. The egg drop soup was average at best and the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. We decided to try this place based on all these wonderful reviews. Based on my experience, these reviews must have been written by people with a financial interest in this place and not actual customers.

Damn it man I used to love this place. But recently things have changed a bit. At first I thought they got a new cook when the sweet chilli sauce was watered down, then about a week ago I noticed the Sriracha was a bit weak and my GF noticed the same thing with the Soy Sauce. I wasnt too sure until I noticed that one of the bottles looked like the proper color and the rest were more of an orange color. My girlfriend ordered a Thai tea and asked for it to not be too sweet, she likes the bitter flavor. She ended up getting something that looked like milk with a splash of Thai and lot of sugar. Then the food came out its pretty clear that the owner is being cheap since the portions have shunk as well. When my girlfriend brought the Thai tea to our servers attention she took it back and tried to charge us for because apparently its something the owner is pushing for.
