I wish there was a rating that I can give thats less than one star. The service at this place was absolutely horrible! My family and I visited kabutos tonight to celebrate my grandmothers birthday and her night was ruined by the experience. We made a reservation for a party of 15 and when we get there we were seated at a table that only fit about 8. We asked to be moved to a location that would accommodate us. We then sat down to enjoy our meal, the server gave half of us a soup and the other half came out about 15 minutes into the cooks presentation and it was only brought out because we asked for it. Our salads came out after our food was already plated, we had to ask for that as well. Meanwhile who I later found out was the owner, Rick, watched the entire ordeal and stated that he knew our service was bad. Our server brought out to go plates before we could finish our food and again Rick sat back and watched. Not once did he come over and offer assistance or any sort of apology. When we asked to speak to the manager once we were leaving he came over and let us know that he knew our service was bad. I couldnt for the life of me understand why he never came over. When questioned he went on to tell us about some irrelevance that was going on in the back but we never got an apology until we asked for one. He asked "What do you want me to do?" .... I can go on and on about this experience but I wont. I would not recommend this place to anyone nor would I go back there if I was paid to. My family drove out from South Carolina to celebrate what was supposed to be a great experience since it was our grandmothers 1st time at a hibachi restaurant and it turned out to be the worst experience any of us have ever had. Next time well drive out a little further and go to Nakatos the service there has always been great.

I could not wait to leave tonight! We normally go to the Kabutos on WT Harris and have the best experience but this location needs to close shop!! From horrible service to a Hibachi Chef that clearly did not want to be there... I had to wonder if him being a hibachi chef tonight was a fill in for the real chef who called out!! He may have said 6 sentences the entire time he was preparing the food. And the food!! Not even on par! The shrimp had not been properly cleaned so I ended up eating sand the entire time. The veggies were basically raw. The rice.. How do you go wrong in rice. It was quite difficult to stomach. The sushi was terrible! I ordered a roll specifically for the exclusion of certain types of fish to then have the chef actually add the fish that I was trying to avoid. I think it may have been in effort to possibly exercise some creative liberties. That may have been fine if I ordered the Chefs Choice roll or the Suprise Me roll ( just being facetious), but I ordered from the menu with a description of the roll. Interestingly enough, he did not add it to the entire roll, he added it to only certain pieces.. Weird!!! How is this place still in business. The manager on duty,, absolutely not a pleasant person. After he came to my table and was quite rude, I absolutely understood why everything from the service to the food was poor. He sets a poor example! He should figure out if this is the job for him because he lacks the customer service skills necessary to be in this field. To the owner.... This guy is going to ruin your business!! I could go on and on but to sum it up..... either go to the one on WT Harris or just go to Burger King!

We had a terrible experience last night. We had a party of 11. Half us were 20 min. late to our 6:00 reservation because we went to the wrong restaurant up the road. I wish we would have stayed there. The staff treated us so poorly upon our arrival despite our apology. From that point forward, it was like speed eating. In fact, they had asked our friends if they would call us for our meal orders while we were still en route from the other restaurant. Our friends little boy asked for a piece of shrimp (Our total amount paid was $300; I dont think one shrimp was too much to ask). The waiter told him he didnt order anything but rice and why would he only order just rice?? This 8 year old boy, not understanding, felt so embarrassed, he broke into tears and ran to the restroom to recover. Our salads, soup, and entrees were all served at once. 2 of the men in our party had birthdays we were there to celebrate. We told the waitress who then offered only the two of them orange sherbet or cheesecake. We could only assume they were offered because it was complimentary. One declined and one ordered. When our bill came, she said, "Oh wait, I need to go add his sherbet." He only ordered it because it seemed like the one nice gesture of the whole night but then we were billed for it? We brought a cake but were rushed out. The hostess asked us why we didnt eat the cake we brought and we told her the truth.... because they were seriously rushing us along. Her response was that she would be happy to eat it? They were rude, entitled and borderline obnoxious. The food was marginal at best, from what I could eat in 30 min or less.

My wife and I ate their last Friday night and sat at the sushi bar. The service was absolutely terrible. I had to get up to find someone to order a drink. We then placed our food order with the sushi chef since the waiter never came back. We ordered an appetizer and some sushi. The sushi was served to us first. The appetizer showed up in the middle of our meal. The food was only barely adequate. We were watching a baskeball game while we ate at the bar and the owner came over and changed the channel to some stupid detective show. He saw that we were watching the game but did not even bother to ask us. He then left and we never saw him again. We asked 3 times for someone to turn the game back on and they never did. We ate quickly and then had to get up to find someone to bring us the bill. The entire evening there was a terrible experience. We used to go their quite often but this was the first visit in awhile. We will never return. It appears they have new ownership and they know nothing about the restaurant business.

On Saturday, February 1, 2014 my wife, son and I arrived at Kabuto at 6:30pm and were told it would about 30-35 wait. Thank was fine they put our name on the list. I have to say prior to that we called and were told they could not take a reservation and that the wait was currently 20-25 minutes for 3 people. We waited for well over an hour and asked several times about when our table would be ready. We were told "I am sorry" over and over we will get you in as soon as possible. We spoke to the manager and all he said was we have a lot of large groups. We left. Seems if you are a small group you are not important.
