I was so excited to get some doubles on lunch today, drove from Lyndhurst to East Orange and I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. The doubles was not made well at all.. I asked for everything, and I guess everything was chana and pepper sauce, cause the tamarind sauce was invisible to say the least. it was like water down pepper-sauce. We ordered alot too, rice and peas, curry chicken, curry goat and potatoes, and everything needed more flavor..YYESSSSS, everything needed more flavor. Service was good though, but they MUST work on de food. More flavor is 100% needed. So order with caution and dont say I didnt warn allyuh eh!!!!! NO LIMINS CAFE for me....

The negative reviews here seem very personal...seems like nearby competitors to me or even terminated employees. Anyway, Ive been coming to Limins after a co-worker referred me. I used to go all the way to Brooklyn when I craved food from my homeland, T&T. Trust when I tell you the food is great. I have been coming here for about 3 months, and I am yet to be disappointed. Every day there is a special...Sundays I come and I get my red beans and rice with macaroni pie...with my kutchela on the top. I also pick up my currance rolls on my cheat days, since I watch what I eat. Oh and the vegetarian roti is to diiieeee for!

I have been searching desperately for a place where I can get good Trinidadian food.. All the places in, and even near to my city doesnt make the cut. I was googling some new places and I came across Limins Cafe. It isnt close to where I live, however, I decided to visit it anyway.. I CERTAINLY WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. Im very picky when it comes to Trinidadian food, but this place exceeded all expectations. The decor is beautiful, the food was amazing and I was pleased with the customer service. I will be returning again!

Food is always good for the most part. For the most part yes. Expensive but...good. They can be petty at times customer service at times with taxing on everything from small sauces, debit card minimums, etc. And I cant stand the sense of penny pinchers over customer relationship. You will get a 3 star review for pricey meals and holding onto everything to be taxed even if your food is good. Business? I get it. But fear of losing money dumping everything on your customer, go back to business school.

The only thing thats worth coming to this place is the doubles. The curry chicken roti was dry and the skin was so thin it was ridiculous. I wasted 8 dollars on that crap and The 2 black girls that are at the counter are rude (not surprised) since most Afro carribbean women are that way but this is a business and I dont want to have to spend money at a place where I feel like Im being "annoying" the attitudes are just horrible and it wouldnt hurt to smile. I will not be returning

The decor is nice. The prices are pretty high and even if they are can the food at least be good ? I was extremely disappointed the rice taste like the bottom of the pot burned the curry chicken was bland and the plantain tasted like it was made the day before and reheated in the microwave. The worker was rude. I gave them 2 stars based on the decor and the salt fish bake which was really good! You guys need a new chef . That food nah make it

This is one of the best restaurant in NJ. The decor, the enchanting smell of Caribbean food and the music, brings back memories of home. The food was amazing. Starting from doubles and all the tasty condiments to the main dish, every bite was full of flavor. Friendly staff, clean surroundings and delicious food; making Limins Cafe a magnificent dining experience.. Thumbs up to Vidia , Mario and all the staff members..

I have been coming there with a friend and each time I go there the food is good and service is outstanding. I have been here at this location about 4 times and the food as always been cooked well as well as great customer service. For someone who wants island food this is a great place to experience. The lady even provided kumar for my birthday wishes. Great food definitely recommend!

Limons cafe I like to call it by the name I know Caribbean Cuisine have a great variety of delicious food. I go there at lease once a week. I get buns for my mom on Thursdays when its made nice and fresh. I love the poullari and the tamarind sauce is the best compare to any other west Indian restaurant I ever bought poullari from. Limons please continue the excellent work.

Food is okay doubles not the best, food is also a little pricey the chicken pies are good but customer service poor I go there and I have to admit I used to go here twice a week for the currents roll and chicken pies but the old Indian lady serving customers (not owner) has a very bad attitude doesnt deal with customers nice at all I would not be going there again

My first time there. I bought curry duck, it was really no meat in my bowl. It looks like the leftover in the bottom of pan. It cost me 12.95 + tax. I will never go there again. And the place does not look like post sorry. Give people there money worth not burn curry powder at the bottom of ur pan.

The best West Indian food in the area. Brought my U.S. friends in for Doubles, Bake/Shark; Saltfish/Bake; Smoke Herring/Bake. Was on vacation in the Bahamas and recommend Limins to new friends we made that moved from Brooklyn to NJ. ..... (dont 4get the tamirand [tambran] on the shark)

I was not given time to look over the menu...the lady was rushing me to place a order...I asked her can I look at the menu and she got fresh with me so instead of arguing with her I left and told my co-workers about her attitude ...needless to say they will never get our money ....

I would have given them a 5 just for the atmosphere and the food however they lack in customer service. They are not welcoming nor friendly. The sad thing is Ive referred a few people there and they said the same thing. Needless to say I wont refer anyone else until I see a change.

West Indian food isnt the same as Mexican and when you have people that dont know the true taste of curry and other West Indian dishes making your food its just not the same. As for the prices they are way overpriced for food thats blah. Drove 40 minutes only to be let down.

Delicious, authentic Caribbean food at good prices. Vegetarian options. Good portions. Fun, island-themed decor and upbeat music add to the ambiance. Would recommend the vegetable roti with pumpkin, potato, and spinach.
